Straight Roads - You can find many of these extremely long bits of road that are almost completely straight along the coast or in the outback of @westernaustralia Although driving long hours on these roads can become quite monotone and boring, the destinations on this way are definitely worth the drive. And if you are lucky you might even spot the one or other wildlife. Just a little example: the drive from Perth to Darwin would take you just about 40 hours of non stop driving π Do you know anyone crazy enough to do this trip without a stop? π€£ Also can you spot the Indian Ocean in the photo? Thanks to @mukeshadh for risking his life for this shot π πΈ Dji Mavic 2 Pro - f/11 - 1/80sec - Iso100 (at Coral Coast, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKgga-Qh8OH/?igshid=1j3ck4k5hazbm
Moon or Sun? - When I was last up at the sand dunes at Cervantes, I came for the full moon. Sadly it was very cloudy and couldnβt see the moon at all. But the sunset was spectacular, what you see here is actually the sun, filtered by the clouds so one could see it as a perfect circle. Have you ever tried to photograph the moon? Did you manage or fail? πΈ Sony A7Riii - f20 - 1/160sec - Iso100 (at Cervantes, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKbPfGJB9rN/?igshid=1xxhmiakk8zr
Busselton Jetty - with over 1.8km, this is the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. You can either walk it, which takes about 50min to finish or take the train that runs along it which takes 45 minutes. A must visit when in the area. Have you ever seen a jetty this long? πΈ Dji Mavic 2 Pro - f/10 - 1/60sec - Iso 100 (at Busselton, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKOmYLRBl40/?igshid=g7m8rjtkdkyo
The Emu - As fast as it ( and his friend) appeared out of nowhere, ( with the first light of the day) it disappeared again in the vast bushland at the Pinnacles. Snacking along the way and not even batting an eye about me. It reminded me a lot of the elusive Cassowary. Lucky they evolved to only eat plants, seeds and small insects, I wouldnβt want to be on an Emuβs diet plan π€£ Fun facts: - 2 largest bird in the world - can run 50km/h β‘οΈ - has wings but canβt fly Have you ever seen an Emu? πΈ Sony A7Riii - f2.8 - 1/250sec - Iso100 (at Pinnacles Desert) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKBsTCMhUSN/?igshid=nw9km9ov37c3

Ocean Strudel - Any better idea for title of this photo? πͺ π€£ This epic beach is just 2.5h South of Perth and just one of many. Kilometers of amazing beaches, if you walk a bit, you are all alone, even during the busy season. Have you ever had a beach all to yourself? πΈ Dji Mavic 2 Pro - f11 - 1/80sec - Iso100 (at Hamelin Bay, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ8ihkbBf0v/?igshid=2kf3v6vahwkw
Sand - Sand as far as you can see. π These dunes were formed about 4000 years ago and are located just about 2.5h north of Perth. I thought they looked more like from another planet πͺ Sadly I did not encounter any camels in there, would certainly have been a highlight π€£ Would you climb those dunes? πΈ Dji Mavic 2 Pro - f8 - 1/50sec - Iso200 (at Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJqYI45hrE1/?igshid=1k22u5xqm4umz
What looks like an oil leak at first sight, is actually just an underwater βholeβ. A local cement factory is pumping off the sand at this location which creates this interesting view. The spot around this Jetty is perfect for swimming/ snorkeling and many kitesurfers can be found nearby. How could you not jump in with this turquoise water? Would you go swimming here? πΈ Mavic 2 Pro - f9 - 1/100sec - Iso100 - Polariser Filter (at Perth, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJioxobBlpe/?igshid=x8ma13zn9i6q
Yesterdayβs sunset- I already got home from the beach and wanted to see the sunset. Lucky I have this big bush land close by and send the drone up! A sunset like fireworks π, worthy of New Years Eve π How do you all celebrate New Years Eve, let me know! π πΈDji Mavic 2 Pro - f6.3 - 1/50sec - Iso100 (at City of Cockburn) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJYE_VfBvMs/?igshid=17n9b9qu6otxa
Merry Christmas to everyone! Went for the Hammerhead-shark hunt yesterday, and got apart from a sunburn also lucky with the sharks. π Definitely going shark hunting more often, hopefully finding some more species! π¦ Hope you have some relaxed days!π (at Rockingham, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJNuD90B7Zk/?igshid=pu2gijjoi39q

Always tricky to come up with some interesting captions - today I let you make it up π How would you caption this? Best one/ funniest one get a shoutout in my stories π£ (at SABAH, Malaysian Borneo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CInNQDDhx9b/?igshid=15i2auy6h2onf
Maldives? Thailand? Some other tropical paradise? Well no, all wrong π #hellofrom Perth, @westernaustralia π Just a short drive south of Perth, you can find a coastline that resembles some tropical getaway, including this amazing sandbank. Definitely a paradise for kite surfers, boating and just anyone who wants to spend the day at the beach. Canβt wait to come back here on some warm summer days. Have you ever been walking on a sandbank? Where? πΈ Mavic 2 Pro - f/8.0 - 1/100sec - Iso200 (at Rockingham, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIQU-oohdye/?igshid=1w7u82eibfcyb
Jacaranda Trees - I have been coming to this area for weeks now, waiting for the Jacarandas to be in full bloom. The moment has finally arrived. When I went to visit this morning at sunrise, this is the beautiful scenery that awaited me πΈ Would you visit this place? Do you have similar places close to that turn into something like this once a year? πΈ Sony A7Riii - f2.8 - 1/250sec - Iso125 (at Perth, Western Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIDlH9DBO7t/?igshid=1a8src7j3ftrc
This is Masjid Bandaraya in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, just after sunset. Definitely a must see when visiting the capital of Sabah, Borneo. The mosque is built in front of this lagoon, which makes it almost appear like it is floating. Before I went the first time to KK I always thought it was just a small town, surrounded by rainforest, but KK actually has lots to do, from bars, restaurants, malls, nightlife, beautiful islands just short boat rides from the harbour, beautiful sunsets ( some say the best of the world), tropical fruits, museums, history.... I could go on:) What is your favourite thing to do when visiting cities? πΈ Sony a6000 - f/22 - 30sec - Iso100 (at Kota Kinabalu) https://www.instagram.com/p/CH-V8-OhgAl/?igshid=15s6is3m46as6

Another late autumn shot ( well the only hint giving it away is the π π) When I first came to Australia, these birds where everywhere. I canβt recall why, but for me they were professor birds. π Later on I learned that here they are called - bin chickens π . They earned the name by coming to the city areas when the lakes are dry to scavenge food scraps from bins. Well really they are called βWhite Ibisβ a native Australian species. I shot πΈ this one at Hyde Park close to Perth, it was fun to land on the water at sunset in large numbers to find their sleeping spot. What is your favourite bird? Do you have any? πΈ Sony A57 - f/6.3 - 1/125sec - Iso400 (at Hyde Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CH46moPhI4i/?igshid=t7i00qut670y
This bird certainly knows whatβs good: Enjoying the sunrise over the @cityofperth One of my favourite places in Perth to watch the sunrise and the countless swans, pelicans and other seabirds.
