Every number 1 pick is handed a start. Thatâs why she broke the record as the first number 1 pick to not start since Kelsey plum and she was injured. If they didnât need the help keeping her on the bench does her no favours. She wouldâve started anywhere except for Minnesota which is a better franchise in terms of development compared to Dallas.
Youâre acting like the #1 pick automatically deserves a starting spot instead of earning one. Most #1 picks start because bad teams have nothing to lose, not because theyâre instantly better than every veteran. If coaches watched her every day in practice and still didnât start her, maybe there were parts of her game they wanted developed first.
And saying she wouldâve started everywhere except Minnesota is just speculation. Great players become undeniable no matter where they are. Draft position alone shouldnât decide rotations.
And list some examples of the specific teams, and who she wouldâve started over on those teams.
Azzi needs to get more involved on offense, and defense. (You can use the argument that Jose needs to involve her more, BUT she just waits when she can get the ball and involve herself.) Most of you just look at the fact that sheâs not starting but donât consider why she might not be.

She can be one of the greats, but if you review her film she constantly sits in the corner and waits for the ball, she barely moves. When she shoots and misses she does not look to rebound it, assume every shot is a miss. This happens all throughout college too.
Sheâs indecisive, but if she becomes confident sheâll be unstoppable.
