Ok but I'm not anorexic.... Right? Like that was just a silly thing I did in an attempt to die a long time ago...I don't have an eating disorder.... Right?
Discreet Little Witchy Things
Some overlooked and discreet ways to practice:
-drinking tea, then reading the leaves.
-spending time in nature (walks, hikes, etc) this could mean the park, a nature trail, or a spot of grass in your yard with a book.
-keeping a house plant or garden. One small potted plant is enough.
-if you meditate, lay in bed at night before going to sleep. Theres no noise or distractions, and if someone walks in theyâll just think youâre sleeping.
-decorating with nature. Dried flowers, wood/sticks arranged nicely.
-lighting candles. Color, smell, and arrangement can be meaningful and discreet.
-burning incense. A lot like candles, smell and time of day have meaning while retaining a mundane appearance/purpose.

I haven't seen this post in so long đ to address the crystal comments.... I was raised in a cult. Crystals were considered to be of the devil and BANISHED in our household. I'm an adult now. And that's why crystals are not on this list. It was for people who can't let their parents know they practice lol. (Just thought I'd give some context on why it's not there)
Everything on this list is meant to be as elusive as possible.
Why tf is every single thing about weight LOSS. Bitch what part of "How to GAIN weight" made you think I wanted a weight loss plan!? I guess I'll just wither away and fucking die lmaoooooabdbakabfb
But seriously 88lbs is not what I wanted to hear or have a fucking Dr see. I'm so fucking embarrassed idk how I could let this happen again

Learning this was an intentional genocide changed me.
I know most of those following me know this, but just to make it super clear. An Gorta MĂłr (The Great Hunger/the Great Famine) was a deliberate genocide of the Irish people. There was enough food grown in Ireland to make sure everyone was alive and healthy and survived. Instead it was exported, sent to England and elsewhere for profit while men, women, and children starved in the streets. While the English landlords fucked off and evicted starving families who couldnât afford rent. While babies were too weak to cry and died at the side of the road.
They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. And we owe so much thanks to the other oppressed peoples, in particular the Choctaw Nation and the Masai, who sent money and grain to us.
Let me repeat that. The Choctaw Nation who had just gone through the Trail of Tears sent us money to try save Irish lives. Itâs led to an understanding between Irish people and Native American tribes, most recently when we donated to the Navajo and Hopi fundraisers for COVID-19 relief, because while it may be a different tribe, Irish people will never forget those who helped us and weâll help back.
The entire population of the island is less than seven million people. Weâre still a million less on this island than pre famine. And itâs not that long ago. My grandmotherâs grandparents lived through it. Weâve told the stories, it literally changed the DNA of the country. We have a national fear of renting, because so many people were evicted. People joke about Irish people always offering loads of food, but itâs because thereâs that cultural memory of not being able to.
They tried to kill us, but they did not succeed. We will not let them take our lives, we will not let them take our language. We lost so much, but we will not lose it all.
This is why I get so angry when people say âit was the potato famine, it was because of monoculture/microbes.â
Nope. The potatoes were the only thing Irish people were allowed to fucking eat, because as pointed out, the rest of the crops they were growing were for their landlords to ship to England. So when the one âworthlessâ crop they were allowed to eat rotted in the field, the English crown, empire, landlords, all shrugged and carried on. People starved to death lying next to productive fields.
yall rly came out SWINGING...
So Iâve been knitting in an attempt to decrease my stash scraps. These fish mitts are addictive to makeâtheyâre fun, fast, and simple enough, if you can read a chart and work in the round.
Once I finish the blue fish, Iâm planning to do a yellow and brown pair. Pretty much as many pairs as itâll take while I wait for yarn for the Halibut sweater set I have planned.
Hereâs the pattern, for anyone who wants to make their own school of goldfish mittens.
These little fishes are quick to knit and kid approved!

Hey all, my ex-college just fired one of the RDs for having pronouns in her email signature and speaking up that they were closing the Multicultural center & further pushing away students of color.
It's getting some traction on Twitter but hasn't made its way to TikTok so it would be wonderful if people could share there or engage with current videos about it.

Linked above is the article the letter refers to. I've quoted the relevant passages below.
"Womenâs Area Coordinator Raegan Zelaya remarks that while she understands the reasoning behind closing the Mosaic Center, Houghtonâas an institutionâcanât claim to value diversity if we arenât doing everything we can to safeguard and develop it.
'If anything,' Zelaya writes, 'it feels like it just further demonstrates that the university is only interested in the kinds of diversity that are convenient for marketing purposes. It is outrageous to have diversity as a pillar in our strategic plan when we are actively cutting the programs and spaces that help empower diverse students to succeed.'"

I feel like a fake and an imposter (:
Im backing out of going to the psychiatrist and asking for help bc "what if im not actually that bad?" "What if im just being a big baby?" "Am i really sick/mental? Or am i just attention seeking?" "Will these things ACTUALLY help me? Or just make life harder?"
Literally how do I fix myself, as an undiagnosed autistic, so that I stop being a horrible parent to my two autistic kids...
Like I am ready to kill myself so they don't have to have me as a mother anymore.

if you like crafting and also free things, might i suggest the antique pattern library?
itâs a not for profit thatâs gathering books, patterns, and other materials related to crafting that are out of copyright (or getting permission from copyright holders in some cases) in order to share them online. they scan items, clean them up, then make everything available for free!
free things are great, especially when youâre just starting to get into something. like oh, iâm supposed to spend money on this hobby i just picked up 20 minutes ago???
the first time i ended up on the site, i seriously spent hours just trawling through everything. thereâs the usual suspects like knitting, crochet, embroidery, but thereâs also woodwork, calligraphy, and books on things like how to mount and frame pictures. with cross stitch patterns, they also make modern charts with the dmc colour codes available.
links to their webbed site and instagram:

Hobbies need to be accessible. I believe that itâs becoming more and more important for people to have physical hobbies that create real things and develop real skillsâgiving people a sense of accomplishment and overcoming feelings of helplessness. But so often, it seems like even beginner-level instruction is aimed at making the entry barrier as high as possible.
I was reading this book where this guy argues that people should develop areas of âmicromasteryâ when getting into a hobby. Find one small, achievable, but still impressive task to master, so you have a cool skill to show off (and the sense of accomplishment) without having to master an entire huge area of knowledge. Instead of learning to cook, learn to create a really good omelet. Instead of learning an entire new language, learn to count to ten. And then you have a knowledge base to help you if you want to explore further. Seems very common sense. Very accessible. Learning is for everyone, not just people who want to devote tons of time to a new hobby. But even that guy, in his instructions, keeps telling people to buy the most expensive equipment to have the best possible results. Thereâs even a point where he says âthe more expensive, the betterâ!
That infuriates me. I am enraged. The guy whoâs trying to make learning accessible to the masses is now saying this is the realm only of the rich! Itâs telling people to buy into the marketing ploy that more expensive is automatically better! Itâs absurd. Itâs insane. There probably is equipment that improves the outcome of the final product, but itâs not necessarily the most expensive stuff, and you certainly donât need the expensive stuff when youâre just starting out!
Yet, tutorials and craft books keep pushing this message. If you want to start drawing, you need an expensive sketch book and seven different pencils and different weights of pen, and the right eraser. If you want to bake, you have to have the best flours and the appropriate sourdough technique. If you want to knit, you better have the expensive yarn. Thatâs garbage, and it makes things more difficult than they need to be.
When youâre just starting out, youâre learning if you even like the activity. Do I like spending time drawing? Do I even like the process of knitting or woodworking or building model airplanes? Itâs pointless to spend tons of money on good yarn only to find that you hate the process of knitting. Pointless to get the good pencils when the process of drawing makes you want to crawl out of your skin.
If you want to try something, just try it! As simply and cheaply as possible. Want to draw? Get a free pencil and a bit of notebook paper. Want to knit? Get a pair of knitting needles from the thrift store and some dollar store yarn. As you get deeper into the hobby, youâll probably want to upgrade your suppliesâbut now that you know more about the process, you know what problems can be solved by better supplies.
I was always intimidated by bookbindingâthe tutorials always talked about having the right glue and the right book pressâuntil a guy in the comments said, âI use Elmerâs Glue and my laptop.â I could manage that! That was accessible! I got some glue and some big textbooks and made a book! Not perfect, but it wouldnât have been perfect even if I had the fancy suppliesâI was just starting out! And then I figured out that a paper cutter and some kind of tool to smooth the endpapers would be useful. So I got thatâas cheaply as possible. I have made books and I have enjoyed it without a huge investment in time and money. And more tutorials need to take that approach. I refuse to believe that we have to give tons of money to the crafting industry. I refuse to believe that we have to be consumers in order to become creators.

2,300-Year-Old Plush Bird from the Altai Mountains of Siberia (c.400-300 BCE): crafted with a felt body and reindeer-fur stuffing, all of which remains intact
This artifact was sealed within the frozen barrows of Pazyryk, Siberia, for more than two millennia, where a unique microclimate enabled it to be preserved. The permafrost ice lense formation that runs below the barrows provided an insulating layer, preventing the soil from heating during the summer and allowing it to quickly freeze during the winter; these conditions produced a separate microclimate within the stone walls of the barrows themselves, thereby aiding in the preservation of the artifacts inside.
This is just one of the many well-preserved artifacts that have been found at Pazyryk. These artifacts are attributed to the Scythian/Altaic cultures.
Currently housed at the Hermitage Museum.
