and then u also consider the fact that toxic masculinity encourages the labeling of any physical touch between men as gay. and how that in itself is a barrier for some men to engage in healthy platonic touch amongst themselves if they had the desire to. which is why it might feel "safer" to engage in physical touch during moments of hypermasculinity. which can also lead to repression in queer men too bc now theres a narrow view as to what a queer relationship between men should look like. and if there are deviations then its easier to dissmiss or repress your own queerness as a man bc its not "like that". like call me insane but its just so interesting all around
