“well. we’ve all got our own coping mechanisms, i guess. though you should probably find a better one that isn’t as destructive.”

      “   listen,  teddy,  i’m approximately 89.325% sure that i just FLUNKED my biology midterm.  so if you would excuse me,  i would like to cook my self in your dishwasher now,  thanks.   ”

        “   —  uh,  professor hoffman   ?   ”   link walked up to the other after class.   “   so,  it turns out,  that i didn’t do the stylistic analysis essay.   ”   it hurt him to even admit that. he had never once in his life missed a single assignment,  yet,  here he was.   “   it’s a super stupid excuse and i know that college is a no nonsense environment,  but i didn’t have any time last night with my calc two exam and physics class.   ”   his speech was too fast for most to comprehend,  but in his panicked state,  it was the only way he could convey any information.

         “   beauty is in the eye of the beholder,   so choose to see beauty in everything.   ”

        “   i’ve made a decision.  i’m gonna in the kitchen,  gonna OPEN the dishwasher, and i’m gonna climb inside.   ”

        “   but who would i be if you had not been my friend   ?   ” 

         he sighed and glanced at the bookshelves and pointed towards one way in the back.   “   yeah.  we’ve probably got dante’s inferno around there.   ”   link turned away,  diverting his eyes to look at the counter between the two and mumbled under his breath,   “   didn’t know you read.   ”   it was rude,  and immediately afterwords felt a wave of guilt wash over him.  making eye contact with scott, he apologized though he was unsure if he even heard his comment or not.   “   uh  —   ”   he bit his lip and scratched the back of his head.  money   ?   yeah he made enough that he could pay off what his scholarship didn’t cover and still have some left over for anything else he may need. but did he have enough to be able to lend some to scott   ?   was there even a guarentee that he would get it back   ?   “   depends on how much you need, really.   ”   oops.  too late.

          he was standing at the register,  writing down on a piece of paper what he remembered from his anatomy notes.  upon hearing someone walk in,  link quickly shuffled all his papers out of site and put on a cheerful smile.  the expression got replaced with a look of confusion when he realized who it was.   “   oh. uh. hi. did you need something   ?   ”
