Go Through Me // Louis & Jo
Summary: Louis was Jo's knight. He would do anything to make sure he was happy and protected at all cost
<—————————————————————>
“That kid is kinda creepy”
“No kidding, why doesn't he have a face?”
“I heard his family is full of faceless people, that's kinda freaky”
Kids all around whispered and talked, mocking and pointing at the kid on the swing, their hushed voices louder than intended.
Nothing here was new. With his featureless face, it was bound for others, unlike him to stare and talk. To be looked at like some freakshow, fearing to even go near him.
“Hey!” A boy yelled, pumping out his chest as he cautiously approached the swing set. “Y-you should leave! You're scaring everyone here! Freak!”
Everyone sucks a breath in, the playground going quiet.
It took a moment for the gentle rocking of the swing to come to a halt, the boy faltering ever so slightly as the kid raised his head up, the place where a face would be, smoothed out.
The boy grabs a nearby rock, looking at the kid in fear as he throws it. “Just go away!”
The rock flew, but instead of hitting the faceless kid, it hit armor instead. The young knight clicked his tongue, staring the boy down. “Why are you doing this? He wasn't bothering anyone here.”
The boy looked at the knight in disbelief. “Are you serious? Look at him! He's scaring everyone here!”
“But did he try to harm or initiate a fight?” The knight huffed “From what I can tell, you were about to assault an innocent person”
The boy was bewildered by the knight — who would defeat such a monster? Knowing how much trouble he'd get if he didn't stop, he chose to drop it, eyeing the weird duo on the swing set as he went back to his friends.
The young knight eyed the boy, giving warning glances to the other kids looking.
“Are you alright, Jofexierren? Nothing hurt?” The Knight asked softly, turning towards the boy on the swing.
“I'm alright, you came just in time.” The featureless kid finally spoke, looking up at the knight. “Thank you, Louis. You always come when I need you”
Louis lowered his head. “It is only my duty as your knight.”

“I really outdid myself on the colors this time!” Apple celebrated, looking at the setting sun from the cliff they sat at. “This looks way more realistic than last time!”
It had been a month since they discovered the full potential of Jofexierren's — or Jo as they have all taken up to call him by — power, and while there were complications and disagreements — mostly from Rillianne and Louis — they managed to pull through, creating a paradise that was theirs and theirs alone.
Celly lays down, a smile tugging up her cheeks at the softer grass. “This place is really coming together, I wouldn't mind staying here longer”
Rillianne sighs, dropping her notebook beside her, “There are still things that need work though.” she says, eyebrows furrowing as the stars appeared earloer than intended.
“Take a chill pill, Rillianne.” Apple laughed. “This is supposed to be a place where we can relax!”
“Yeah! Calm down Riri” Celly teased, pulling on Rillianne's shirt.
“You guys are insufferable.” Rillianne huffed, letting Celly pull her down. “I'll relax once the dirt sticks to you when you lay down.”
“Aww, but I like how clean I still am after I lay down!” Celly pouted.
“You wanted it to be realistic, Cece? You are getting realistic.”
“Come on Celly” Apple bumped their knees together “You gotta be one with nature!” Laying down beside Celly, Apple proceeded to rub her face on the dirt. “And that's dirty business!”
Celly crossed her arms, face turning red as she turned her back to Apple, whining through it all. “I don't wanna get dirtyyyyy!”
Louis watched from beside Rillianne, still wondering how they all clicked. However, that wonder was short-lived, feeling the person that unknowingly made them come together as a group lean on him.
“Do… Do you like it here too?” Jofexierre asked quietly, hope lacing his friend's words.
Louis gave him a reassuring smile. Although, Jo was too scared to even look up. “Do you?”
That seemed to catch him off-guard, his words stuttering. “I-I think so? We all worked so hard to create this world… and all of you are here with me so…”
“Then yes.” Louis answered, his head easily sliding on Jo's shoulder. His gaze fondly looked over at the three — his friends — messing around. “I like it here.”
–
“Jofexierre” the man called out, speaking like a parent to a misbehaving kid.
Celly stood behind the guards, feathers sprouting as her distress grew. “I- Riri… Apple…” She stilled, racking her brain for anything to help out.
“Let me go!” Apple yelled at the man, white rainbow scales littering her arms and neck, eyes turning slits as she glared and pulled at the men restraining her. “Mga walang hiya!”
“DON'T GET CLOSE TO HIM! I SWEAR, YOU DO ANYTHING TO HIM AND YOUR DEAD!” Rillianne yelled, the guards struggling but was able to hold her down, purple lava leaking out to the cuts she received from the scuffle, the more cracks forming the angrier she got.
The man ignored them, eyes never leaving its target “Jofexierre, it was a mistake making you go to this school. You are far too powerful and unstable to be surrounded by others!”
Louis blocked the man's path before he could get too close. Sweat dripped down as he tried to compose himself. “Sir…”
“Louis, his knight.” The man acknowledged, “If you may, please escort Jofexierre to our car.”
Louis looked at the man, ticked off at how easy it was for him to order people around. “Where are you taking him exactly… as Jo's knight, I must know before I do such a thing.” Louis played carefully, cautions of the man that suddenly attacked them at Jo's small resistance.
“I see. You too call Jofexierre improperly.” The man said in disdain. “Although I can't be too upset at your request, it is your job to protect him. Very well.” The man crossed his arms, looking impatient “We're sending him back to Reccopafell. He never should have left in the first place. That was our mistake.”
Louis heard the broken “No, I don't want to go back” that Jo let out, feeling the panic radiating off of him.
“But do not fret,” the man continued. “Other than the disrespectful name you've called him, I'll be sure to communicate your dedication as a knight. You might even get some sort of promotion for your dedication, maybe a new person to guard.”
“No.”
“Excuse me?” The man asked in surprise.
Jo, a person who never raised his voice, never to fight back and always does what he was told.
“Jofexierre, this place has clearly tainted you. It would be wise to-”
“Shut up.” Everyone paused. Jo supricing everyone with his defiance “I don't want to go back. I have a life here, and you won't be taking that away from me.”
The surrounding area started to glitch in and out, zaps of something, making everyone flinch from pain.
Everyone but Celly, Rillianne, Apple and Louis. Their fighting chance.
Apple was the first to act, elbowing the guy pinning her. Turning to face them with a snarl “Naiinis na talaga ako sa inyo ha!”
The zaps made an opening for Rillianne to sit up. Punching the guy next to her, her fist cracking at the contact, molten purple leaking out as the guy screamed in agony.
With Apple and Rillianne taking the first actions, Celly had no other choice but to sigh in defeat. “I'm really sorry about this, but it's better to have some brain damage than be dead” The one guy that didn't move away from the zaps looked at her in confusion, being kicked right at the side of his face by Celly, knocking him out and breaking her moral code. She just has to keep knocking people out before Apple and Rillianne could kill them.
“What's wrong with all of you!? They're all just a bunch of teens!” The man screamed. The men looking panicked as the three managed to take out a small chunk of them.
“Ugh! I don't have time for this!” He tried going past Louis. But Louis didn't move, pushing the man back and away from Jo.
“Louis? What exactly do you think you're doing?” He demanded.
Louis glared up at the man, “I'm sorry sir. But as Jo's knight, I must protect him from any danger.” his hands reach up for his brooch, the item lighting up and reshaping in his hand. “And that includes you.”
“Louis, what is this nonsense!?” The man yelled, taking a step back. “I demand you to put the sword away!”
“No can do! If you want to get to Jo” Louis took his stance. “You have to go through me first.”
The man clicked his tongue, looking frustrated. “Fine, I'll do it myself then” In one swift movement, the man whipped out his gun, shooting freely at them.
Louis gritted his teeth, his grip tightening as he reflected each bullet with precision, blocking it from hitting him or Jo. But he knew his sword wouldn't be able to withstand the bullets for long. He needed a plan now.
Suddenly, the man yelps as Rillianne jumps him, molten purple burning the man's suit. Fury radiated off of her as she raised her fist. She then backs off, screaming in pain as her hand gains a hole in its center.
Apple quickly came to her side, careful not to touch her as she inspected the gun would. “P*tang- Rillianne…”
“How f*cking DARE you shoot my friend!” Jo screamed in fury, the shape of his skull imprinting itself to his featureless face.
Something seemed to snap, everything feeling off as things started to glitch in and out, zaps of glitches targeting the man, making him scream in agony.
“JO STOP!” Celly yelled over the man's screams, worry written in her features. “You don't have full control of your powers, and hurting him will not make you feel any better! Please stop before you do something you'll regret!”
Jo didn't seem to want to listen, rage fueling him as he tormented the man.
But as always, he felt a hand grabbing his own, forcing him to look down.
“Jo” Louis started, golden scales creeping up his face as he looked up at him. “You'll regret this if you accidentally kill him. Please stop, I don't want you to spiral again when I finally have you back”
Jo paused, the glitching stopping as the man groaned in pain laying on the ground.
“Louis I-”
Louis shushed him, voice lowering just for them to hear. “I have one request for you.” Louis sucked in a breath, the world seeming to pause at his next words. “Leave. Go to our world and stay there until it is safe for you to come back.”
Jo was taken aback by the request, taking a step back from Louis. “But Louis! I can't just leave you guys-”
“We'll handle this.” Louis cut him off, pulling him back. “They obviously want to take you away, and they can't if you're locked in our world. With this, at least we can ensure you're safe.”
Jo was unsure, not wanting to leave his friend behind over the mess he had created. Especially when one is already hurt.
“Please Jofexierre” Louis squeezed his hand. “I want to be by your side forever, I can't have you die on me or spiral in regret like all those years ago.”
A pause. Jo takes in Louis worries, remembering all those years or regretting and blaming himself for an incident he couldn't even control.
It seemed like an eternity passed before Jo let out a defeated sigh. “Will you promise that all of you will be safe?”
“You know we will. We just want you to be safe and not be taken away from us”
Jo smiled at Louis, his full trust going to his knight as he prepared to teleport to their world. “Thank you, Louis. You always come when I need you”
A gunshot could be heard from a distance. Louis bowing his head as Jo teleports out. “It is only my duty, as your knight”
