You have something extraordinary about you. You refuse to lose the child-like wonder that so many adults lose. You find beauty and fantasy and love and happiness in places where everyone else forgets about. You are incredible, you are wonderful, and you are strong.

After my last relationship ended, no matter how necessary and good that was, little space and anything about being a little was painful and triggering. While my little side was being hyper-sexualized by my partner, the emotional and psychological side was being criticized by another person in my life. This was traumatizing to me. I couldn’t “be” little. I could only “act” little for the sexual gratification of my partner.

I know many of you have felt like your little space had been violated at some point. I know that for a lot of you, it became an unsafe place for you to go. And this is what I want to tell you, or beg you:

Be little.

Be little for you and for nobody else. Smile at the sky for no reason but the fact that it looks beautiful. Laugh at fireworks and adorable animals. Say hello to people you don’t know. Be happy for no reason but to be happy. Never lose the child in you, because they will be what is there when everything else is gone.

Remember that you are both an adult and a child in one. Let the adult nurture the child when nobody else can. Just because they are scared, doesn’t mean they disappear. Nobody can take your inner child away from you. They will be with you forever.

This is important. 

Read this letter. Really read it.

Believe it. 

Don’t let anyone muddy how you feel about yourself, all aspects of who you are.

Little: I am a dark forced to be reckoned with! Pure evil, with a heart of darkness and a temper feared by all!

Daddy: Sweetheart, you get fussy if you can’t find your stuffie before bed. 

Little: Mr. Cuddles is merely a tool of my wraith, used to destroy souls of innocent victims!

Daddy: Well grab your tool of wraith and come snuggle.
