I am so glad she said yes!!!!! This is what we call a power couple.

For those who don't know :

"What are you doing?" she squeaked as Jacks released her waist and swished the brush across the sign, adding two letters right before the word happily.

"There," he said smugly, "it's fixed now."

Evangeline scowled, as did the little blue dragon who'd been perched happily on the sign. The greeting on the sign, still swinging from Jacks's handiwork, now read:

ΤΗE HOLLOW

Inn for Travelers, Adventurers,

and Those Searching for UNHappily Ever After

"No one will come if it says that," Evangeline said.

"Don't be so pessimistic." Jacks carelessly dropped the brush back in the bucket. "People will still come. They'll just be a little cursed if they dare to stay here."

He showed off a dimple as his smile returned. Clearly he liked the idea of cursing their guests. Although Evangeline imagined what Jacks really enjoyed was tormenting her.

Evangeline had a feeling that the girl was toying with Jacks—she had to be toying with him. And even if she weren’t, Evangeline couldn’t imagine that Jacks would hold on to her, or anyone else, for that length of time. And yet, he made no move to release her.

Jacks picked her up in one quick swoop and carried her inside the inn.

Jacks took a deep breath, and Evangeline felt his chest moving against her as they stepped through the door and into a smallish loft. There were no fires or candles, and yet somehow the place was warm and bright with the sun shining through all the many windows. So many windows carefully nestled between branches in a way that made it difficult to see where the glass began and the tree ended. There might have been some furniture, but her vision was so hazy around the edges it was hard to beentirely sure.

Jacks dropped a heavy arm around her shoulders, sending a shock straight through her as he pulled her suddenly close. “Want me to kill any of them for you?”

“No, they’re just gossiping.”

“Then what if I merely give them the urge to cut out their own tongues?” he asked, flashing one of his dimples.

Evangeline stifled a giggle, though she knew she shouldn’t be amused. She had no doubt he was serious about the tongues.

Yep that's annoying but we all ignore the red flags in a book. I like her character, but I think that she is kind of dumb to just randomly trust any stranger. Like for example when she met Petra, she didn't even question why the heck she was talking to her and why is she taking her to random passages and for the main example she ran to the prince of hearts's crunch and expected him to fix her bf's wedding without making a drama?

We all know that she is a hopeless romantic but while reading the first book, i kinda thought of her as a damsel in distress but later on i loved her spirit.

And for what you have written that's 100% true. She trusted Jacks a wayyyy too much even though she knew what kind of person he is. (I loved him from the start nvm). But if I was her, i would really fall in love at first sight, but I would have trust issues with him, after what he did to luc's wedding. Idk in what condition she was attracted to him in the first half of the ouabh book, but in tbona and acftl we had good reasons for why she should feel attracted to him.
