Jovani has released his latest single “Figure It Out,” which you can stream below. Written by songwriter and producer Max Berga, Jovani has gone number two in Poland with his last single “Keep It To Myself,” and has also won a Lithuanian Grammy.

California based pianist Griffith Frank has dropped his new single “Reach Out” where he expresses his grief over losing a friend to an overdose. He was raised in a musical family and his father is David Frank who has written songs for musicians such as Christina Augilera, Chaka Khan, and Phil Collins.

  Commonweather has dropped their new single “Mellow Drama,” which you can listen to below. The Chicago four-piece will be releasing their upcoming EP Sugar Sun on September 13th. Talking about the song and working with producers Nathan Hardy and Travis Hill, front man Justin Olin says, “feeling worn out, I kept to myself more to avoid confrontation with my partner. Resentment festered and made matters worse, leaving us in a toxic environment.”

“It was our first time working with dual producers on a project and we loved the experience. Nate and Travis’ ideas for lyrics and song writing really helped shape the songs and put what we had from the initial demos into a new light. We tracked mostly everything out of Nate’s apartment except for drums which were tracked at Travis’ home studio space.”

Simple Plan has announced a US tour with State Champs and We The Kings set to begin on October 29th in Richmond, Virginia at The National and wrapping up on November 24th in San Francisco, California at The Fillmore. The band released their most recent album Taking One For The Team in 2016 and are currently working on new material. All dates for the upcoming tour are listed below.

The Maine has announced new tour dates set to place this fall around the United States. Releasing their latest album You Are OK back in March, the Arizona based group is saying that tour will be their most immersive and expansive tour to date, where they will be performing songs from their entire discography. The tour is set to kick off on October 21’st in San Antonio, Texas at the Paper Tiger and wrap up on November 30th in the band’s hometown of Phoenix at The Van Buren. Priority tickets are on sale now and a general on sale will start on August 9th at 12 noon EST. All tour dates are listed below.

  British singer-songwriter Marti West has dropped his new single “Give Me Light,” which will appear on West’s upcoming EP due out at the end of the year. His debut mini album VIII was released in 2018.

Chicago pop punk band Mest has released their new single “Masquerade,” the first song that the original lineup has put out together since their 2005 LP Photographs.

Lulise has shared her new R&B inspired track “Taken,” which you can listen to below. “Taken” is the followup to her previous single “Read My Hips.”

Manchester, England band Larkins has dropped their new track “Wallflower,” which you can check out below. Recently appearing in the Boys By Girls Magazine in the UK, the band has come across the pond to play a show in Los Angeles tonight at School Night. They will also be performing at the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds from August 23rd-25th in the UK.

  Carriers has shared their new single “Make It Right,” which you can check out below, via The Talkhouse. Produced by John Curley of The Afghan Whigs who also played bass on the track, it will appear on the band’s upcoming record Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself, and Everyone Else, due out August 23rd.

British musician Ted Jasper has dropped his latest single and music video for the song “Don’t Want It,” which you can check out below. Writing the track with London based producer Beni Giles, Jasper said the following about “Don’t Want It.” “Me and Beni were writing it together and coming up with the hook using computer-based software, and throughout the session we were talking about how there’s always this ‘new’ thing you need as a producer. When it comes to software and technology, it moves so fast and certain technology that you’ve just acquired becomes obsolete so quickly. There’s this constant change, and that’s where the chorus came from – ‘Need it but don’t want it.’ It’s about the necessity of having to have this thing to continue, even if you don’t particularly want it.”

Jasper released his EP One Day in 2018.

Well, after six years of writing on Listen Here Reviews I can now say I’ve done an interview. If you’ve been following the website for any amount of time (or have read my interviews for other outlets) you know that I’ve asked plenty of questions to different musicians over the years. Nashville singer-songwriter Chris Smothers has released his new single “Burn Up This Town,” which you can check out below. Originally from Lago Vista, Texas right outside of Austin, Smothers has been playing music most of his life, though he began to take it seriously in high school once he picked up a guitar. Influenced by Johnny Cash, Dierks Bentley, and Josh Turner, he performs regularly around the Nashville area. He dropped his debut EP Slip Into The Night in 2016, which is available on all streaming platforms.

  Immigrating from the Dominican Republic to the United States, musician Alfredo Balcacer has released his new album Suspended Sea, an album that marks his debut as band leader and composer. Wanting to write an album that highlighted his experience as an immigrant in a new country, Balcacer has released an LP that vibrantly illustrates his experiences with American jazz influences while highlighting the sounds of the land he left behind. Graduating with music degrees from Utah State University and Western Michigan University, while also participating in the Gold Company Vocal Ensemble, USU Jazz Orchestra and Mas Que Nada Latin Ensemble among others, Balcacer knows instinctively how to write a song that sticks in your heart.

Opening with the dizzying and rich “La Silla Marron,” he blends modern jazz guitar riffs with skittering drumbeats to create something entirely unique. With the drums, Balcacer wanted to take the patterns of the Dominican Republic and have American musicians play them, presenting an interesting interpretation of international music that may be foreign to listeners in the US.

Opening with a percussive intro that takes us back to the sounds, sights, and smells of the Dominican Republic on “Inside My Head,” Balcacer continues to sweep us away, as a colorful horn section entirely makes the track. Thankfully everything on this number gels together well, making “Inside My Head,” a song that we will come back to over and over. Entirely instrumental, its nice that we don’t have vocals to distract us from taking in every single sound we hear, almost making for a meditative like experience, so we can relax, listen, and enjoy.

Closing out Suspended Sea is “Tales of the Horseback Rider,” a track that begins with a beautiful piano bringing in the modern sounds of jazz that is still popular today. While Suspended Sea is not your typical jazz record, Balcacer has released a stunning debut that highlights his talents and gifts for writing music, and this is only his first record, we hope it’s not the last we hear from him.

  New Orleans indie rock band Motel Radio has released the music video for their new single “Ego Death,” which you can check out below. The band will be releasing their new album Siesta Del Sol on July 12th before kicking off a five week long tour with Summer Salt.

Ambient music producer Mattia Cupelli has released two new singles “Kogarashi” and “Mono No Aware,” that you can stream below. “Kogarashi” was named after a Japanese word for a cold wind that signals the beginning of winter and talks about endings turning into new beginnings.  “Mono No Aware” was also well received and garnered plenty of traffic to Cupelli’s Spotify page.

Sean and Conor Price have shared their new single “I Hate This,” the latest in a string of singles after releasing their mini album Dreamer last year. “I Hate This” is the followup to “Magic,” their previous single. The sibling duo went viral after appearing on the UK X Factor in 2012 with their audition where they performed “All Along The Watchtower” by Jimi Hendrix.
