Painting different facial expressions was an important part of the Pastoral Tarot journey. In the Four of Cups piece, I wanted to show a young girl looking distracted and lost in thought. The crossed arms further enhances her disinterest with the task at hand. This card suggests that it might be time to take a break and refuel the well of inspiration. We've all been there and that's okay. It's important to recognize those moments and reassess the situation accordingly. Spring is a time of hope, renewal and dreaming about flowers. Even where I live in Florida, spring is the best time for gardening. Right now my orchids and roses are in full bloom and the various amaryllises in my garden are producing their annual stalks that will boast flowers within the month.
