Red Hook Crit. A race attempted by many, conquered by few. At Brooklyn Navy Yard only 5 out of 100 racers actually finished. Shit was THAT bananas.

In hindsight I’m happy I didn’t qualify, that race was insanely dangerous (as I’m sure most of you have seen the gnarly crash footage by now) and absurdly fast. I nearly qualified at 105th place out of over 150 racers, and was first female. I felt strong and I had fun, technical courses are my favorite.

This time, no women raced in the final. Next year, you ladies better step up and be ready. Let’s have our own field. Let’s fucking race Red Hook.

Abandoned Island in the Middle of NYC

This 1 day old kitten is safely in the hands of bottle baby foster mom extraordinaire, Lisa, of North Brooklyn Cats.

It’s always hard for them at such a young age to pull through without a feline mom, but in Lisa’s hands is the best shot this little guy has.
