after much thought & consideration, i decided that my attachment to a follower count, or rather, any numbers (blog age, number of posts, etc.) didn’t do me any good if i was unhappy with the unorganized mess that followed it. i’m a little sad to have to move & could ramble on about how i wish tumblr made it easier to clean out blogs... but nah.

i’m happy & excited to start somewhat fresh with a character i’ve been tormenting for years, & this was the best means of doing so! :D

ALRIGHT good talk everyone. i am at the point of exhaustion where words are slurring together & nothing i say is making sense, so i’m gonna... make some unwise financial decisions & go to sleep.

& BEFORE I GET MISINTERPRETED, because i feel like i’m not... making it clear enough. even though i have said it five times over.

i do believe there lays an issue with me as well when it comes to my dissatisfaction with this blog.

i know it’s a combination of the environment of tumblr + myself, but i’m not going to be ~*that guy*~ who blames it on everyone else but themselves. no, i wholly accept that i may not have been doing all i COULD have been doing, & most rp stuff begins at the root of good ole communication.

something i SUCK at.

as i figure out what i want to do with mandus, i’m probably going to be trying to jump this hurdle of communication by being more forward/friendly/reach out to people. if you are uncomfortable with this, i recommend unfollowing just so that i don’t make you uneasy!

i have already begun this shift in behavior on my other blogs, & while i have yet had anyone tell me it has made them uncomfortable, i want to give ya’ll that head’s up before you get weirded out when i’m liking your posts/commenting on things/actively wanting to talk to you/etc. communication is key in a game that takes two to tango, & many of my personal insecurities could be easily resolved with communication.

ooc: Sometimes taking time away from something that had a lot going on is a good thing because that means you have more time to think of what you want to do with them! I hope he sticks around, although please don’t pressure yourself if you don’t feel like you can! Take care of yourself!

to be honest with you, the issue is that i don’t have a lot going on. this blog has been deader than dead (in terms of activity & dashboard activity) for awhile now, & that’s what has pushed me away.

i, personally, still have plenty of time outside of work, & i’m in no state of pressure/stress. but BECAUSE i still have this time, coming home to an inactive dash, few rps, & the same handful of people & nothing new/refreshing is killing it for me. AGAIN, likely my own fault because i struggle in expanding my range of who i follow.

& since this is the perfect hour to talk about stuff i may delete in the morning...

i’ve been off & on debating rebooting/removing mandus from the pokemon community. i’ll even confess to considering deleting him for a hot minute. not due to me no longer enjoying his character (i love this man way too much it is nigh upon worrisome), but simply no longer getting the same enjoyment from going through the same motions here.

i’ve had a TON of fun on my other blogs, primarily my zelda blog, which constantly has new people filtering in & out. it is refreshing, & something i haven’t really gotten on mandus, as i tend to rp with the same five people.

is this my fault? probably.

i am a REAL stickler on who i follow & i thought remaining exclusive to the pokemon community (aside from a couple of exceptions) was the right thing to do for his character. alas, i haven’t followed anyone new in months, my rps are the stale same-old same-old, & i am pushing myself further & further from mandus.

ofc, the issues of doing as i mentioned above (rebooting/removing/whatever) is: 1. mandus is so deeply rooted in the pokemon lore i couldn’t do much. i tried having him be fandomless/modern, but he doesn’t work well in other verses, as his status as the Big Bad in the pokemon world doesn’t translate well. what’s the point in leaving if i’m still going to be pokemon? 2. i have so much content on here it’d be a difficult reboot. i also am nigh upon another follower milestone, & after that is ANOTHER huge milestone. i have some serious attachments to this blog & while rebooting would mean being able to clean it up + have a tagging system i’ll stick by + trying to sort through it better (less ooc, more ic related content), the pros & cons don’t all balance out.

the fact that this isn’t the first, nor will it be the LAST, time i have considered this is rather concerning. to me, at least. i’m not especially happy on this blog, but i love this trash man too much to easily let go.

i guess this also serves as to explanation as to why i suddenly decided to become inactive, & why my hiatus is continuing. i don’t know if that hiatus will end, & i don’t know when i’ll come to a proper conclusion for this blog, & for mandus.

definitely not that catlike.while he is cat-like, he is not ACTUALLY a cat.his behaviors are more so in terms of personality, rather than biologically rooted behaviors involved in the physicality of a cat (I.E., grooming oneself.)
