There had be some cruel cosmic entity at play here โ first, bringing Tessa to the town where her ex-girlfriend was living, and now, forcing them into close confines with nowhere to run. Neither of them could jump ship, and say otherwise. No, nothing like that. They were going to have to face each other, whether either of them liked it or not. Full disclosure: Tessa likedย it. She was hoping for a chance to reach out to Lindseyโฆ in a more conventional location, maybe, and under better circumstances. She wanted the both of them to see each other again, on Lindseyโs terms. After all, she was following her lead.
It was almost reflex, a habit she thought sheโd broken a long time ago, but the wet strands stuck to the caramel-skinned beautyโs face like glue, and Tessa reached out, pushing the hair out of her face. When she realized what sheโd done, she dropped her hands, an apologetic expression reaching her face. A subtle smile drifted onto her lips, and she shook her head with a soft laugh,ย โOh yeah, I always go swimming with all of my clothes still on.โ Thereโs a beat, neither of them seeming to fill it as she considered her words carefully, her shoulders lifted into a shrug,ย โI know. Itโs weird โ both of us being here. I feel like Iโve crossed some invisible line by moving into the same town as you.โ
Which wasnโt untrue. There was some cloud that seemed to hang over her, reminding her of where she was and who happened to be there. Tessa couldnโt shake it, nor did she want to โ if anything, it only brought up feelings sheโd buried away, ones that she knew shouldnโt be making a reappearance. There was no way in hell Lindsey could feel anything for her, after all sheโd put her through, and Tessa wouldnโt dare to hope either.ย ย ย ย ย ย โWhy donโt we get you out of the pool, and we can get a drink andโฆ talk.โ
Lindsey wanted to fall apart when she heard Tessa was coming into town it gave her all the emotions that an ex should have. She wanted to disappear thinking of if she did run into the other woman, but was that such a bad thing? Was she selfish for admitting maybe she wanted to see Tessa again? Possibly. It would be refreshing, but she had planned to see her when she wasnโt well... Unprepared.ย
Just the familar touch of Tessaโs had made Lindseyโs mind spin. Not even warning her own self when she had closed her eyes breathing in the other womanโs touch she once longed for. But her mind soon hit reality when she had realized the relaxation laying over her features to the woman in front of her. Opening her eyes she stared down at the aqua colored liquid underneath her. Lindsey had to let out a soft laugh at Tessaโs sentence wanting to make the situation lighter for not just her but Lindsey herself. Running her fingers through her now soaking dark colored hair Lindsey sighed softly.ย โIt is weird... But I canโt deny that we were going to bump into each other at some point, if I sheltered that possibility I would be an idiot.โ
There were a couple of reactions that ran through Lindseyโs mind at the idea of seeing Tessa again, happy to see her only wanting to pull her close into an embrace. To frown and show her madness towards Tessa, or to fill her eyes with saline with no turning back. Could she say there was still deep inner feelings for Tessa? She wasnโt sure, she tried to erase that part of her memory because of all the main and hell they had both actually put each other through. Lindsey thought she would be stupid thinking about feelings for her ex.ย โI-yeah I think thatโs a good idea, liquid courage might be just what we both need.โย
