Last week, you helped Lina replace her tent.
Her tent had been destroyed, but you raised 400 Euros for her to purchase materials to build a new one.
Then, a few days later, you raised 500 Euros for her to buy essential food, winter clothes, and baby supplies.
You did this! Thanks to you all, little Saif (picture above) is a little warmer, as is his little sister Sidra, and of course Lina (@lino-gaza) and her husband. Thank you so much to everyone who donated.
But they still need our support. The crossing is still not open, and even if it opened tomorrow, Lina's family would not have enough to evacuate. In the meantime, food and hygiene are continuous costs.
Let's raise another 500€ to help support Lina and her family through the coming days.
Lina is vetted here. My friends and I have also been talking to her regularly, as you can see by the photos I've obtained above. Those photos were directly DMed to me. Lina is also frequently active on Tumblr. You can reach out to her yourself!
Palestinians are not just fundraiser posts, they are people--people who are reaching out to you, so consider reaching back. On that note:
Palestinians have as much right to dignity as they do to food, water, shelter, and safety. Please don't wait to see a compelling Tumblr post to donate.
If you check out a campaign and confirm that it's legitimate, consider sticking with it and giving to it regularly.
If you're paid once a month, see how much of your paycheck you can afford to give and consider donating a set amount to that campaign every month.
If you're forgetful, busy, or overwhelmed, then consider picking one campaign to focus all your energies and funds on.
You can't help everyone, but you can be the difference between life or death for at least one family.
