Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.
-ancient roman posca: water, red or white wine vinegar, honey, salt, herbs (coriander, mint, thyme)
-switchel: water, ginger, vinegar, sweetener, lemon, salt
I mean great and all that but I can never cease being shocked that people don't just enjoy water. To me there's nothing quite like my bottle of water fresh from the fridge with two ice cubes in.
... this was about a sodium deficiency. If you are in a situation where you are sweating, you are losing electrolytes and there comes a point where plain water does not do anything for hydration. It was absolutely not about taste.
im a simple man i like when things are shaped like other things. stool shaped like a mushroom. pillows shaped like fruit. salt and pepper shaker shaped like two friends hugging. in my ideal world i will have a house stocked entirely with novelty objects shaped like other objects and it will be beautiful.
I’m running a quick commission sale to get back into the swing of things! Also really could use the extra help money is tight this year! I appreciate you all <3

I got a new hat at the lizard show. They had a lesbian lizard shirt that I was also considering, but I am more of a hat wearer. The lovely ladies who made this hat don't seem to have it online, but I'm linking to them anyways because they're my favorites.
You mentioned that you used flower language to plan the panels on your bee dress – would you mind telling us a bit more about it? I can see, say white clover ("think of me" in the flower language book I know best), but did you have a message in mind overall? I absolutely adore that dress, and I've been playing with the idea of flower language for a knitting project I've been thinking about, so I'm really curious how you approached it!
Hi!!! I would love to talk about it!!! :D
I looked up flower language on Wikipedia and went down alphabetically picking out things that I wanted people to think about me in the dress and things I would like to think about myself!
While I did not use everything I have listed below, this was the general starting point!
I had to pick out meanings and then I divided them into color categories, as I couldn’t visually have two pink flowers next to each other, have two flowers with large leaves and stems, use the same color of green twice, or have flowers of the same texture/petal style near each other. Lots of variables to balance visually.
There were more than a few times where I would start a flower and realize the texture, leaves, or color did not fit with the two hexagons that bordered it, and thus had to rip it out. The final product is something I am very happy with, but I want people to understand that this was very much a trial and error. I changed things constantly and although the result is still very much inline with the initial idea I had, it was not really certain until I finished the flowers on the skirt!
Since you are knitting, I think visually your biggest challenge will be color and shape of your flowers. If I were to approach it, I’d block out the stitching in a spread sheet or grid first to make sure the flowers you have in mind fit well together size wise without sacrificing shape or uniformity!! (Like how big do you need to make a bluebell to look like a bluebell and does that size requirement make your magnolia look silly and vice versa)

Behold my Bee Dress, as photographed on my trip to Italy. It was a happy coincidence that my dress this year thematically aligned with my vacation plans!!!
