Reality starting to set in.
After we removed the carpet and stripped most of the paint from the cab, we realized that the truck was going to need a new floor pan on the driver's side and a set of new rocker panels. The fun didn't stop there though, I had noticed on many reference pictures of either restored trucks or modified trucks that the fire wall was red like the rest of the cab, but ours was black. There was also this nice rippling effect on the transmission tunnel, hmmmm. Closer inspection to the frame had revealed that the truck had been hit somewhere in the driverās side front of the cab as a small bend on the top of the frame was discovered. After stripping the firewall, I saw the damage pretty clearly now. The cab had been pulled back to fit the fenders, but no expense was paid to fix the damage that ācouldnāt be seenā.Ā
