I AM IN FACT TRYING TO READ

The show is constantly looked down upon, like its fans, by people who haven't even seen it. They hate it for no reason. They hate it because some losers took some vague quotes and twisted them so badly that they believe that it's not canon, and therefore okay it hate on.

And so much else is thriving. Daredevil was in three places, Kingpin in two, before a revival of the show with the third season coming up. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are all back. The Punisher came back too, he had a Special Presentation, and he's in a Spider-Man movie. Peggy Carter's still around, and James D'Arcy returned, and is coming back again soon. Even Black Bolt from Inhumans came back.

i dislike how messy s3 has been but if this ep is any indication the second half is where its really at perhaps it’s almost giving book vibes at this point because fire and blood also seriously loses the plot about this civil war at one point and they are really tapping into that chaotic nerve

— Clint called Natasha right away after his family disappeared. But he never went to see her in person. He couldn’t face any of them, thinking that he should’ve done more, and it was all his fault.

— Natasha was awake for several days straight. Not eating, not drinking, just phoning Yelena over and over, praying she’d pick up. Steve was able to get her to drink a bit of water and not dehydrate herself to death. Bruce was the one who finally convinced her to put the phone down and sleep. She spent most of the night sobbing in his arms before the exhaustion finally kicked in.

— After killing Thanos, Thor continually brought it up in almost every conversation. Trying to remind himself of his success rather than his failure, and convince himself he did everything he could, and he was still a hero. Of course, he didn’t really believe it.

— Tony would dream about losing Peter every night, and wake up crying and grasping at the air. Pepper would try to comfort him, but he wouldn’t let her. He’d go downstairs and watch the videos Peter made documenting his trips which Tony always told him he didn’t want to see.

— Rocket tried planting Groot’s dust to see if it would grow another Groot, like Big Groot’s twig grew Baby Groot. Of course, it didn’t, but Rocket kept the pot safe just in case one day he might.

— Steve tried to reassure everyone, and look for anything positive about the situation. But in private, he cried himself to sleep looking at pictures of Bucky and Sam.

— Bruce would sneak out into the woods at night and beat himself until his arms were covered in bruises and he couldn’t close his fists, screaming at Hulk to come out.

Bc I don't get it. I really, really don't get it. This was the first show to be set in the MCU, written to be woven in with the movies, constantly referencing them, including cameos, furthering their plots, doing every bit of heavy lifting

But the MCU never referenced them back. Never bothered to have a throwaway line or picture or two-second scene. Never bothered to mention what could be happening on the ground. Always open-ended, always AoS having to make it work and justify everything. Never the movies. ALWAYS the show

And now we are in a new era of Marvel where the older content is being stitched together in the greater thread of the MCU. Matt Murdock and Kingpin both showed up in "No Way Home" and "Hawkeye", respectively, and soon, the rest of the Defenders followed suit. We have Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in "Born Again", and s3 is sure to feature Danny Rand with Finn Jones

Yet AoS is nowhere to be seen. We have to rely on scraps, tiny mentions from singular producers offering nothing but "well, we hope to work with those stories again". Fuckass "Inhumans", the show basically nobody likes, was included before AoS. How the actual hell is that fair??

They want to prop up Gosling as Ghost Rider as though Robbie Reyes never existed. They'll happily steal the storylines we did better and pretend they aren't canon. That they didn't build that framework. They would rather do anything but include them and I'm so so tired. I don't get it

This sequence feels weird to me.

The way Steve is looking at Mjolnir there when he catches it, he lingers on it far longer than is necessary for someone who has already wielded it once before… It looks like he’s thinking: “it worked. I’m wielding Mjolnir.”

And then there’s that little smirk afterwards too… and you know who this mf looks like lowkey?
