Look...Iâm gonna do something absolutely stupid. Like an attempt at making a friendship aesthetic for Lila Barton and Vali Loksison.Â
I donât quite thing @wolfsplit gathers how much I love their friendship, like?
Itâs just so pure? and theyâre both so flipping stupid? they are the most awkward Avengers of the younger generation. They are the ones that, while everyone has an intricate plan, Lila and Vali are literally making things up as they go along. Theyâre tripping, stumbling, falling, making stupid traps that literally a two-year-old could outsmart ( but not their challengers, oddly? ). They donât even refer to pop culture.Â
My mind is a home I'm trapped in, and it's lonely inside this mansion.
I know that shutting the wall down ain't solving the problem
But I didn't build this house because I thought it would solve ´em
I built it because I thought that it was safer in there
But it's NOT, I'm not the only thing that's living in here
Send âHold on, please.â for my muse to die in your museâs arms.
It had seemed like an odd time to feel tired, but Lila couldnât help it. On the outside, Lila had made it a point to be mentally strong for those around her - to not shake the goofy, awkward girl that they knew her from. It was an easier facade to convince everyone in the room that she was strong than any other exterior. In a way, taking care of those around her had always managed to be the perfect derailment of her own inner turmoil. To see a laugh replace a cry for any of those she loved around her, had always felt like a cure. To be the one that could hold the others up, when they felt like crumbling, despite her own deteriorating insides. While it was easier to be the emotionally and mentally resilient one on the outside, on the inside, however, had always been a different story. If Lila had been asked before, if she feared death, it wouldâve been a failed lie if she said no, but it was odd how one variable was able to erase her fear of it so quickly. It was then that she realized, her strength wasnât only skin deep, and she was proud.
Now, if she had been asked, she couldâve truthfully said no. Not when it came to a choice between her living or her older brother. A moment of thought hadnât passed for Lila, there was nothing for her to think of. In the moment that her brotherâs life couldâve ended, she didnât see the title of the older brother and younger sister, big or tall, hatred or love. His habits or behaviors that seemed annoying to her at times, were things she couldnât live without. Their idiotic fights over insignificant things, she wasnât ready to let go of and stop fighting over. The haunting, fleeting, image that flew through her mind, was a coffin with Cooper in it. She refused to see that image come to life. It was simple - they were siblings; family. She had always believed in instincts and Lila had never felt an instinct so strong possess her than what she did as a sister. She felt not only instinctual but dangerous.Â
Nothing, at that moment, wouldâve stopped her from protecting her older brother and just as unstoppable as she felt, the adrenaline that had rushed through her, had numbed any pain she might have felt when she stepped in front of her brother and his opponentâs dagger entered the right side of her abdomen. At first, she mightâve stood a chance, but when he had ripped it back through, tearing it out of her stomach, she knew too well what was to happen. But even then, she couldnât feel any fear shadow over her. She wouldnât have rewound time and done anything differently, for anything in the world.Â
Her fatherâs voice rendered her into any other child when Lila heard his voice. At the moment, she was merely embracing her fate, but his voice had given her a cushion of comfort as she listened to him speak. The adrenaline had begun fading away. She had always thought that pain was something that hit after adrenaline faded away. It wasnât, in fact. it was something that faded inwards, increasing in volume by the moment, radiating from her abdomen and robbing her of her breaths. She couldnât inhale and she couldnât exhale. To open her mouth, was to lose her breath and be unable to replace what she lost.Â
The presence of her father, however, felt as though it was numbing that pain. She could say now, with certainty that her strength wasnât only skin deep, but she was still just like any other child. She joined those like Peter Parker to protect those that could not protect themselves, but at this moment she was the one that finally felt safe, untouchable in her fatherâs arms as she relaxed in them and listened to his plea.Â
She didnât want to leave him and his plea for her to hold on echoed into her ears. Exhaustion swept over her, that she assumed was simply death pulling her in, letting go, then pulling her back in again, as she slowly pried her eyes open to gaze up at her fatherâs features, as an image to keep with her wherever she went. Somewhere among the quietness, she could hear a distant, familiar female voice speaking to her, but now that she focused on itâŚit was two voices. A man and a woman, their distinctly familiar voice made her heart drop painfully to her stomach. Despite her inability to see them, their voices became clearer. âLittle Agent,â the nickname ached her heart and an invisible, gentle grip on her shoulder grabbed her attention.Â
It wasnât a struggle, to her surprise, to force a smile the form on the corners of her mouth for her father, as she spoke, ignoring the pain that it caused, determined to give him closure. âDadâŚItâs okay,â she said, relying on the breaths she held in her lungs. âI love you. Iâm not - Iâm not afraid andââ taking a break, she squeezed his hand. âIâm not hurtingâŚThis was the price if I couldnâtâŚlet Cooper die. IâmâŚIâm more than willingâŚto accept itâŚItâs worth it,â she continued, conserving on her breath. She couldnât believe how stupidly sleepy she was. Leaning her head to the side, she rested it against her fatherâs chest and let her eyes close, as her mind aimlessly wandered. It was an irony in itself, that she entered this world being held by her father and now she was leaving this world being held by her father. In a way, there was no better way to leave.  Â

  001.  HEADCANONS : Injuries / scars
( spoiler heavy, please make sure youâve blacklisted my tags. If you are mobile, please scroll fast! )
After re-emerging from the Soul Stone (where I headcanon the vanished had gone), Lilaâs vision became temporarily-to-permanently damaged, tainted with a slight haze of orange, due to the surroundings of the Soul Stone.Â
As we saw in Infinity War, with Gamora, the Soul Stone realm was completely orange and extremely bright, causing some mild damage to her natural vision.

Training / Fighting  /  @lilbarton ( this says training / fighting, but a long time ago you mentioned wanting him to show Lila how to wood-carve D:< Iâm breakinâ the laaaawww.)
Vali couldnât help but allow one corner of his lips to pull into a crooked grin, at Lilaâs question. It was an unfortunate truth that for those like them, that had been exposed to the ugliness of the world, they could never return to the world of blissful ignorance they once knew. Not even when the world wasnât in threat of an apocalypse, it was now an impossibility. It was up to them to find a new way to silence the voices that tortured them within their minds. For Vali, his vice had been fleeing into the deepest parts of the forest he could find, where he could be free of sounds. Vali respected Earth; they had accepted his kind with open arms, but he couldnât deny how loud this world was. The deeper into the forest, the quieter it was. The more lost he felt, the more at ease he felt. He found further mind-numbness in the form of wood-carving with his pocket-knife. His routine was to be alone, but alas, Vali had to admit, Lila Bartonâs presence wasnâtâŚtorturous and her curiosity and willingness to learn something new wasnât exactly an annoying trait.
Fixing his sights on the product of his boredom, his eyes tracing over the knot patterns on the wooden handle he was mind-numbingly crafting. Releasing his grip on the wooden article, he gently placed it into her hand before flickering his gaze up to her for a moment, a patient expression fixated on his features. âSee the knotwork? Itâs called a sailor knot,â he informed her, his voice low for the quietness of the forest. âAre you right or left handed?â he asked, raising his eyebrow in curiosity.Â
