Hello friendos! I’ve been gone a lot longer than I anticipated. I took an extended social media break sans scrolling and lurking!
I’ve opened up an Etsy shop and have been working on building up other small business ventures including developing some FF14 themed goodies! I’ll be posting some of those craft pictures here as well as picking back up on my roleplay advice posts.

Champion of Eorzea, blessed by the Mothercrystal. You've bested tyrannical warlords, fearsome dragons, and god-like beings. You've liberated nations, aided in their restorations. You rub shoulders with their leaders and the common folk alike. With every victory, every adventure, every grand feat, your legend grows. Everyone knows your name. Everyone knows what you've done. Everyone knows what you're capable of doing.
'It's the blessing of Hydaelyn,' they say; 'the power of the Echo,' 'the unwavering soul of Azem'. Only the Warrior of Light could do what you do, only someone destined to usher change and defend the very star from destruction. Allies and enemies alike agree; there is nobody like the Warrior of Light.
But that's where they're wrong. You may be special, or chosen, or destined... but you don't feel that at all. All you feel is the pedestal you never asked to be put on. The perceived gap between you and them is staggering. They think you untouchable; so far removed from human you must be a god, or something greater. You aren't a person to them any more. You're a symbol. An idea. A concept. Intangible.
You are the Warrior of Light. And you will never be anything else.
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.

So this is a callout post. If you want to stop reading there that's cool, but I cannot let a raging misogynist, biphobe, transphobe, lesbophobe person parading as an upstanding queer artist keep getting platformed when he's said some heinous things, behaved terribly and begs for likes as if life is a popularity contest. Block me if you disagree but I'm writing this here as Tumblr is less ephemeral than other channels. Part of this post was originally posted here as a reply.
fragments/nights-at-crystarium/Jay have been posting misogynistic, biphobic, transphobic, lesbophobic, entitled comments and then claiming people are homophobic when they criticise him back. Please rethink if you want to keep supporting him.
A/N: warning this is a LONG POST and I have truncated it under the break. I have also added the most recent misogynistic rant at the top just below the biphobia.
Context: an anon send him a message about how Emet can only be gay, Japanese people don't understand queercoding and that people who ship femme character with him are delusional.
See here for why his Emet-Selch comment was biphobic at worst and misguided at best. (thank you @birues for bringing this to everyone's attention)
---
Misogyny and Trans-exclusionary language
Jay HATES the idea that women want to share this space too. In addition to the Tumblr post above he posted this to his Patreon discord, which is not private as his patrons can access it. He laments that people make fem characters because it's default and he wishes they all would transition to men. He also jumps in to insult two artists with m/f Emet ships @nipuni and @ja-ck-du and calling their art hetslop:
---
(continued with more of his terrible behaviour after the break)
Pattern of rancid behaviour over the years
Let's start with the laundry list of all the bad behaviour he's expressed through the YEARS. You can read this better on my reddit comment here which I posted in reply to a shill thread made by what most people agree as Jay's sockpuppet account on the ffxiv subreddit. All of these I had the displeasure of witnessing myself or have been corroborated by multiple people:
---
Self-aggrandising behaviour
Here is Jay claiming that there aren't many queer creators in xiv which is INSANE because this is the queerest fandom I have ever seen. You can't sneeze without hitting a queer artist. He also calls himself a pillar of the community, which is HILARIOUS because I have never seen him uplift other creators. You can't be a pillar of the community if you don't engage with the community. Your sycophants don't count.
How can you victimise yourself to such a degree?
He also claimed that if he was a lesbian, all of these callout of his rancid behaviour won't happen, which is laughable because you ask any lesbian in this space what being femme entails, they'd tell you straight up that they have experienced misogyny, no less from people like you Jay.
---
Entitlement
Jay being ungrateful that ONLY 25 people have shared his post, and then saying you deserve to not be helped when you need it unless you share his post because he's a poor comic artist earning $1.2k from patreon every month. Because not sharing a post from a popular artist is obviously equivalent to not helping someone in dire straits. If you have been around, you'd know that times are hard, especially when you're queer. He's wishing you ill for the offence of not pressing that repost button.
---
Being ungrateful with a sprinkling of misogyny
Jay straight up insulting anon's wife because how dare she reads his comic when she hasn't played ShB because her mind would not comprehend the complexity of his plot. And this is AFTER he begs for followers, as he does with every single one of his goddamn post.
So which is it, are you going to appreciate people who read your comic or are you going to put up so many qualifiers you only deem them worthy of following you when they've ticked all of them?
Hey Jay, maybe you should connect to your readers in a genuine manner and not in bad faith where all you want is for them to stroke your ego whilst giving a facade of appreciation.
And maybe, just maybe, you should start uplifting your fellow queer creators before demanding everyone support you.
---
If you've read this far, thank you. I hope if you have ever supported him in the past that you rethink if you want to still support him after this. I do not care how big his following is; I do care that mask off misogyny is being let loose in our space. It doesn't matter if you're queer or a woman, we should not sweep this under the rug especially during Pride Month.
throwback to when on new years day he misappropriated the "merry yaoimas and a happy new yuri" and said "happy new yaoi" and tried to tell him not to overwrite lesbianism day
TL;DR: in his livetweet of ARR, Jay dismissed the Ala Mhigans in Little Ala Mhigo as "politically angry men" and I argued that while it can certainly be rooted in racism, his "personal dislike" of them stemmed more from his unwillingness to engage with things that do not affect/involve him directly (who cares about a bunch of refugees when you're preventing primal summonings, amirite?), and that sort of attitude carries into everything else in his life including his (lack of) engagement with other queer communities that are not exclusively gay.
Jay very clearly wants to live in his bubble where he only wants to engage with things that matter to him, as exemplified by the "literally just having fun in my own corner" comment. He feels "invaded" when he's politely asked to take other people into account even when it takes nothing away from his ability to enjoy and make gay fancontent. He doesn't want to acknowledge happy new yuri. He doesn't want to consider queer M/F ships. He says gay ships used to be the default. He doesn't want to have anything to do with anything that's not male homosexuality, and that includes having the barest modicum of decency and respect for other queer identities. You can play with headcanons and make fancontent however you like, but when you're on the internet and making yourself publicly available as a content creator, you no longer function in an exclusively gay little bubble. You do not get to demand other people engage with you and get upset when they call you out for being exclusionary, but unfortunately he seems a little too self-absorbed to really understand that.
In conclusion:
Making exclusively gay fancontent because you're gay and that's what you want to see and how you want to play with your fave NPCs? ✅
Getting mad that other people do not headcanon your fave NPCs as gay and calling them homophobic for doing so while refusing to engage with or be mindful of other queer identities? ❌
I want to add some stuff to the aboves as well- because as much as he's against "waffles" in his "pancake" house, he do have lesbian representation in his art and comic- because the waffles are all tasty and welcomed in the pancake place when they can grab attention from other people and eventually turn into profit, aren't they?
"Why do you never see ME with my yaoi agenda under people's yuri posts"- not under post but you DID shove your yaoi agenda to replace the lesbian's day. And I cannot stress this enough but I'm all in for the gay agenda and celebration of it- same goes for lesbian, ace, trans and any other in the LGBT+ family. But not seeing how you actively overshadow anything else than your personal stuff by rude and offensive comments and playing a victim when met with any slightest criticism only makes you an asshole not really welcomed in the community.
And you know, it's a normal thing to not realize how rude or hurtful something you said may land as- but it's also a very human and common sense thing to listen to those you've hurt and apologize/make amends. But what Jay does instead?
He never shows any remorse nor apologize- instead attacking and ridiculing the ones who point out stuff to him. That and twisting every criticism into a "homophobic attack" and harassment of an marginalized person. Playing a victim card with one hand- while holding a credit card scanner with the other, as he begs followers to drop some $ since now he needs them more than ever.
Another thing, important to me as well as a person on Autism Spectrum- he tends to use weaponized Autism as a shield against criticism of his words and actions. He uses it to excuse how rude and self-centered he is, pulling those hurtful stereotypes as if people on spectrum needed more of such stigma. He also said that he's "too autistic" for adding alt text when posting images and his comic, when someone politely asked him about it. All you need to do is copy-paste stuff from your comic or add like at least one line of text that will help people who needs that; surely it's not too much to ask for from a comic author and well versed at yapping on social media about things you create about? Some things ARE big struggles to us autistic folks but you cannot use it as excuse for being an asshole.
I usually only want to spread awareness of things like this. I don't like witch hunts. However, fragments/nights-at-crystarium/Jay is causing a lot of harm with bi-phobic/transphobic/misogynistic and racist remarks. And with every new thing I see it keeps getting worse and worse. I just can't let this stand.
This is not a homophobic hate campaign, contrary to what he claims. This is a call for accountability. I would have called out anyone for being biphobic, transphobic, misogynistic and racist.
It just happens to be that a lot of cis gay men are biphobic and they come out in droves during Pride Month to spew their drivel.
Having your own headcanons for characters is totally fine. Everyone has them. Dismissing other people's sexualities and gender identities because they don't align with your views and being hateful towards them is a completely different thing.
Claiming that there are so few queer creators in FFXIV is absolutely ridiculous. Ever since I started playing during ARR's release FFXIV has had a lot of queer creators. Jay doesn't consider them, however, because they're not cis gay men like him. He's so self-absorbed that he claims to be a pillar of the community.
Sorry, but if you dismiss more than half of the FFXIV community and don't uplift anyone but yourself, then you're no pillar of the community at all. Especially if you refuse to engage with anyone if they don't support you.
All he does is shill his own comic. Begging for kudos and money and clicks and reblogs. He doesn't support anyone else if they're not cis gay men.
He only talks about celebrating everyone under the queer umbrella when it suits him.
That he has the nerve to diss on awesome FFXIV fanartists like Nipuni and calls her art hetslop is outrageous.
Jay invalidates everyone who isn't a cis gay man. He invalidates women who play femWoLs and there are a lot of them. Where he gets the idea that it's mostly other men who play femWoLs is beyond me. A lot of women also play male WoLs, btw. I'm one of them.
It's seriously pissing me off how much he hates bisexuals and women. Especially if they ship their characters with his favourite characters who are gay in his eyes.
If he wants to have fun in his corner, in his bubble, fine. But he shouldn't claim to be a pillar of the community, and shill his comic to everyone then. Once he created his comic and became a content creator he no longer had the option to stay in his own bubble, especially since he keeps begging for money and reblogs and kudos.
Oh, and he also invalidates writers of fiction. Since he claims that because he makes comics his OC is more valid. excuse me. I've been writing since before he was born.
This wouldn't have blown up the way it did if he'd only done some self reflecting, been more aware of things outside of himself and had he simply apologized things would have been fine, but no. He keeps on doubling down and playing the victim.
Oh and Jay? Autism is no excuse for being a biphobic, misogynistic, transphobic, racist asshole.
for those who want to know the url of the biphobe, it's @/nights-at-crystarium
after his blantant biphobia he has chosen to ignore people who have called him out and also has the audacity to act as a victim as if he is not the one who is outright hostile to bi folks. he also thinks if he grows big enough, his biphobia will be more acceptable.
For those who haven't seen the original exchange, here's the dogwater take from anon that kicked us off:
hApPy pRiDe 🏳️🌈😚 Here's to getting upset that other queers might imagine a fictional character with no established canon sexuality to be interested in more than just one gender.
Oh, and why not sprinkle some caaaaasual racism into it! Because fans "in Japan (and maybe other places idk)" might not recognize the same shitty gender-normative stereotypes as you. So true. We the Asians should def get a pass for homophobia because our cultures are just Like That™ or whatever the fuck.
Brother. Do you know any damn thing about queerness outside of North America? Yes, Japan (and maybe other places idk) has the same/similar cultural tells for queerness because (1) Western esp American media is a major influence on global culture, and (2) shitty gendernormative and sexist beliefs are worldwide and upheld to varying levels of severity.
Holy fuck. I know people of color don't exist in English dialogues about queerness except as window dressing, but please consider perspectives outside your own. Especially during a month that celebrates the diverse spectrum of queerness.
Anyway, here's the very questionable response NAC posted and is now crashing out over:
Even if they could relate to the anon's sentiments, their response is so fucking entitled and whiny. HEY, I'M THE VICTIM. I'M BEING OPPRESSED. WHAT DO YOU MEEEEAAAAN I'M BEING INSENSITIVE TO BI/PAN/OMNISEXUAL PEOPLE YOU'RE TAKING MY WORDS IN BAD FAITH.
Like, did you all know we can have very real conversations about gay erasure without throwing other people under the bus over personal player perceptions of a fictional character's sexuality? Mind blown.
sorry to keep harping on about this but this is what J thinks of queer creators in the community. what do we think he thinks counts as a queer creator. let's take a guess
despite being so far removed from FFXIV drama, i still managed to hear about this and i think this entire thing is hysterical to me because people in the community actively headcanon emet-selch as genderfluid and transmasc. so if they're shipping emet-selch with their fem!wol that doesn't mean emet-selch has a penis or is cishet male. the gross assumptions these two people have in addition to being hateful is astonishing to me, but also just incredibly phobic to a lot of different groups in queer communities in the fandom.
Also, as an aside and arguably, the unsundered in general are gender ambiguous and therefore their sexuality being ambiguous as well is pretty well canon given the fact they can body hop at will or just make their own bodies. Emet-Selch chooses to (mostly) retain his masc leaning appearance, but that doesn't mean he's cishet. Most importantly, despite stans like me wishing it were canon, Emet-Selch is NOT officially canonically shipped with anyone in FFXIV's story, let alone the wol. We take inference based on the intimacy shared in the story, but that doesn't mean it's deeper than platonic and SE has never confirmed one way or the other to my current knowledge.
Canonically, he's none of those things! He's just a magic man. With no actual established sexuality. I've seen plenty of straight, cis men and women you would swear are queer without knowing them - I had a roommate with every 'Lesbian coded' thing you could think of, but she just... liked a lot of the same fashion and styles, etc and kept getting mistaken for a gay woman. A male friend of mine thought he might be bi, and decided he wasn't after testing the waters, but often comes off to others as gay/bi... but he's not. Don't judge a book by its cover - whether the person is real, or fictional. (I thought we all knew not to assume people's sexualities by now, but... here we are. This same kind of shit made Heated Rivalry fans act like childish pricks - fandoms love to assume and demand sexualities, and engage in media fandom in unhealthy ways.)
That said, this is fiction. Emet Selch does not exist. He is 1s and 0s. He cannot be gay or bi or ace or trans or anything else anywhere but in your head. So go buck wild, design the fictional character however you personally want to see it, because he's not real, and you can do that! - and remember that fandom was made so that we could all celebrate loving a certain piece of media together. Not to argue about what kind of queer label Spock or Kirk is - each person is entitled to THEIR fiction and head-canon, and attacking them over it is the epitome of immaturity... you're playing pretend, and fighting over the make believe character?? Do you know how actually, literally childish that is for grown adults?? 8 year olds play pretend on the playground and don't act like this.
And then to take the childish antics so far as to attack whole queer communities in real life is filthy beyond belief. Bi people exist, hi... hello. We like lots of different genders and gender presentations - 'bisexual' means we like "two or more". We're here, we're queer, and we deserve some damn respect and acknowledgement. (And don't be shitty to the Lesbians either?? What a weird, low blow comment that was to see in response to this.)
Every day, I'm glad I left XIV, the toxic positivity, and unbelievably unhinged community that cannot separate fact from fiction behind... but shit like this is a good reminder when I think I miss it.
tl;dr Emet Selch is fictional, so he is whoever and whatever YOU want him to be. He doesn't belong to anyone but SE - and we should be excited to hear about others' ideas and interpretations, instead of "I head canon him as gay, so everyone else in the world is just painfully stupid." That... is a person struggling to separate fiction and reality - Emet isn't real, and you're much too invested in 1s and 0s if you're attacking real world ppl and communities over head-canons.
Live and let live. If you hc him as gay? Great! That doesn't hurt me at all, if I'm someone who prefers to see him as trans. Or bi. Or just 'queer' as a broader label, since he can body hop and all that - those can all co-exist. But the second you start attacking real people over fun, IMAGINARY PRETEND PLAYTIME, you're deeply in need of some time away from fiction, and back in reality.
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.

Hello! I’ve entered the Undertale fandom about five years late and have a mighty need to do some roleplay in that particular universe and a number of the related AUs. I am looking for individuals who are 18+, who are comfortable with mature as well as darker themes (violence, sex/sexuality, psychological elements, racism, etc.) and who are comfortable with canon characters and OCs in an RP setting.
I am looking to do 1x1 with myself and the other person taking on the roles of multiple canon characters (cross fandom friendly!) and OCs (OCs aren’t required but I like giving people the option for it) with the other person at least being able to play Sans the Skeleton (canon and most AUs accepted) and/or Underswap Papyrus. Yes, I’m willing to double up :)
Below is further details including AUs I’m interested in dabbling in, plot/storyline ideas, information about myself, characters I’m interested in playing, and other need-to-know’s since I’m still coding my blog!
The best way to reach me if any of this is of interest to you is to boop me either in DMs here or over on discord! —> Lilacs#8103
