What irritates Albedo the most is that he can’t fully understand his emotions, especially those he feels toward you. He knows that you have a much better grasp on how you feel toward him than how he feels toward you; you made the first move, after all.

He’s pretty insecure about that fact — you understood that you love him, while he couldn’t immediately figure out that he loved you.

He’s not dense; he just treats everything like a math problem.

“Albedo, is something wrong? You’ve been staring at me for quite a while now….” You ask, looking up at him with concern.

He believes it’s not normal for someone to care for another person this much. He admires you and cares for you — you plague his thoughts 24/7, so why can't he comprehend how he feels?

He knows he loves you, but Albedo believes the word love is too weak – too simple, to describe how much he adores you.

He knows he thinks about you a lot; he goes out of his way to put your safety and comfort before his. You are the first thing he thinks of when he gets up in the morning and the last thing Albedo thinks of when he goes to sleep (when he goes to sleep, that is). He often worries about your well-being, ensuring that you take care of yourself — he doesn’t want you to adopt his unhealthy habits after all.

“Nothing’s wrong, love — nothing at all…” he responds, diverting his eyes back to his research.

He thinks about numerous things, a good portion of those things being you. He thinks you are everything he’s not; kind, generous — human. He thinks about how you have a finite amount of time while he doesn’t — how you can be removed from his life as quickly as you came into it.

If anything were to happen to you...Well, that's not something he wants to think about. Albedo doesn't want to imagine a life without you — he has decided that a life without you would be bleak and almost meaningless.

He’ll try to convince you to let him experiment on you. Anything and everything he can test on you, he will try to test on you; and generally, he won’t take no as an answer.

Now he is a bit nicer to you versus his other experiment. If you’re dead after all he loses a lover and a testing subject.

He would monitor you constantly, he just wants to know everything about you. He’s normally obsessed with his lovers, but he’s so much more obsessed with you because of your supernatural abilities. 

I headcanon that he would ask you to carry him around. You are naturally stronger than a lot of people, and you can transform. Evil Doctor just wants to experience his inner child with you and your abilities.

He’d want to taste your blood

“Dottore dear, I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to cut me to lick my blood – I don’t want to transform…” You said with a sigh. “Just one taste [Name]” Dottore said with a sinister smile.

Dottore also finds the way you speak to be peculiar. He thinks it sounds nice (sometimes) but he just doesn't understand if it’s a normal diction thing from where you came from, or if it is something you trained yourself to do. He’s just confused whether it’s an elaborate persona or just how you are.

He won’t judge you for speaking like that though, seeing how he talks like that too. I mean, he literally said “Conventional wisdom holds that divine knowledge cannot be rationally comprehended. After conquering the divine gaze, he will make his next move.”

I think he would monitor you more than normal. He wants to know everything about you seeing how you are his S/O – but he’s much more obsessed with monitoring you. He will want to know how many times your heart beats to how many times you blink in a day. 

“100,032.” “Pardon me Dottore, but what was that?” “Nothing [Name]...”

It was the number of times your heart beats for that day.

“Hi, I'm back. I found this cool knife for my test subjects and I found this bracelet – I got two so we can match.” 

Tbh, he only acts super nice in public because he wants people to think he’s polite, being a Fatui Harbinger who is known for testing on people doesn’t really give you bonus points in the likeability department. 

He wants to be around you. I said that before too; but I feel like he’ll take you to events that he knows you both will like just so he can hang out with you.

He’s not the type of person to give you their jacket/coat/sweater when you’re cold. He will let you freeze. Well, he won’t give you his coat because he wants you to be close to him/cling onto him.

“You should have brought a jacket [Name].” You sigh “I literally am wearing a jacket Dottore, I didn’t know it would be this cold though.” “You should have brought a better jacket [Name].” You start walking faster out of spite. “Hey! Stop speed walking [Name]!”

He will yank you closer to him so you don’t walk away and so you can cling to him for warmth. 

If you wear rings or bracelets he’ll want to put them on for you – he likes physical intimacy and he likes knowing your style preference.

He’ll prank you with his clones, he finds your suffering enjoyable sometimes. 

Imagine just being surrounded (like in a cult circle) by all his clones while trying to get something.

“Dottore please – I just wanted to get a glass of water” 

He makes you tea when he comes back from work, whenever that is. He does that because you stay up all the time waiting for him.

He steals your clothes. Like all them time he steals your clothes. He steals them because he thinks they smell nice and he thinks if he takes all of your clothes you’ll be forced to wear his.

I like to believe he’ll write you letters when he takes long trips, but he never gives them to you because he thinks they are super shitty.

He makes you small little trinkets when he’s bored. 

He’s fairly insecure about his relationship with you but he just grew to accept it.

He wears your jewelry and gives you his to wear. He just thinks it's fun to swap earrings and such with you.

He’ll teach you how to make his favorite dish just so you can make it better. He’ll also try to learn how to make your favorite dish just to see if he could make it better than you can.

Every time you tell him about one of your interests he’ll act like he’s not interested in it but then try to learn everything about it so he can have a fun conversation about it with you in the future. 

He carries two handkerchiefs on him – one for him, one for you.

He’ll remember all your preferences, he likes studying people and you’re not an exception.

“No tomatoes right [Name]?” “Yeah, no tomatoes…” 

Sorry, I just think the texture or just plain raw sliced tomatoes are icky.

If you get sick he will try to take a few days off so you can get better quickly, and if he can’t he’ll send you voice messages through one of his inventions complaining about his job not letting him take some days off.

If you are good at art, he’ll let you draw on him.

He’ll be really animated while telling you stories in hopes of getting some of your reactions.

If he sees someone else staring at you in public he’ll either ask you to get something in the opposite direction of that person or link pinkies with you.

Sometimes he’ll let you style his hair.

He’ll hold a staring contest with you just to have an excuse to stare at you.

Besides your name, he will call you things like ‘Dear’ and ‘Love’.

He will pick you up out of nowhere – and if you resist he will drag you around on the floor.

Dottore writes down everything about you, almost like a journal. It has stuff ranging from what you guys did that day to a list of your enemies.

He really tries to make time for you, but then he’ll act like he didn’t make time for you.

“Dottore, you’re home early.” “Yeah, it’s not like I came home early to see you or anything.” He said picking at his nails. You rolled your eyes “Really? Then I’ll be back later.” “Wait [Name] – come back!”

He wasn’t used to the constant checkups, he wasn’t used to the constant interaction, and he wasn't used to being treated like a person.

“Hello Dottore, how are you today?”

He found himself thinking about you more than he liked. He had to study after all; he didn’t want to deal with the distractions that you provided. You would swarm his thoughts constantly, things such as what you smelled like to what you ate that day plagued his mind. 

Dottore is an obsessive man. He's infatuated with why you did the things you did; why you were willing to be shunned along with him rather than live a normal life – one that didn’t involve him. He’d lay in bed at night thinking about you, thinking about the possibility of experimenting on you till you expired. He knew other students wouldn’t care, you chose to associate yourself with him after all.

He didn’t mind having you around. You brought a sense of tranquility to him as he worked. Dottore soon found himself growing addicted to the feeling of being treated as a person. He wouldn’t seek you out – no, he didn't want to seem desperate. He’d let you find him because in his mind that's how it should be. 

Dottore found himself liking you – no, being in love with you during his time in the akademiya. He didn’t want to admit it. He refused to admit it. He didn’t like the vulnerability that the feeling provided – so he did what he normally does; suppress his emotions to the point of aggression. 

After “finishing” his time at Sumeru Akademiya, Dottore was offered a position within the Fatui, guaranteeing resources for his research. An offer which he accepted. An offer which he told you of immediately. So, imagine his surprise when your response to the news was something less than lackluster.

“[Name] – someone finally acknowledged my research.”

Your mouth stretched into a small smile “Oh? And who would that be, Dear?”

“The Fatui.”

Dottore wasn’t a stupid man by any means. He noticed the way your face fell – he noticed the lack of enthusiasm you normally carried. He noticed the feeling of displeasure you radiated from his response. You were happy for him, were you not? You always supported him so why is this any different?

“Congratulations, Dottore.”

And with that, you left.

He didn’t see you for a while after that. It was almost like you dropped off the face of the earth – it was like you were avoiding him. 

Why? Why would you avoid him? You were the only person who showed him what it was like to be treated like a human, you were the only person to treat him with kindness. He’d do anything for you – he’ll never admit this, but he’s sure you know this. So why are you avoiding him?

His infatuation with you grew tenfold after his expulsion from Sumeru Akademiya. He felt like something was constantly missing in his life because you weren't there. You weren't checking up on him like you used to do every day. You weren't sitting in his workspace doing your own this while he was left to his own devices. 

He grew livid.

How dare you leave him without an explanation. How dare you show him kindness – a feeling he grew obsessed with just to take it away. How dare you.

He started looking for you in his free time. At first, it was just something to pass time when he got bored of his experiments, but this hobby of his slowly spiraled into something much more than an activity to pass time. He grew obsessed with finding you. He wanted answers, he wanted to know why you just left him without a word. He wanted to know what exactly went wrong; what exactly prompted your disappearance. Why you’re constantly trying to avoid him? After all – Dottore is a curious man who has always had an infatuation with you.

He found you one day, completely by chance. He had to do a double take – why were you in Snezhnaya? He didn’t take you for someone who enjoyed icy climates. 

“[Name]?” Dottore called out, with an almost astonished look on his face.

He saw you freeze.

“Hello Dottore, how are you today?” you responded, lips pursed into a thin line.

Like a rubber band that has been stretched too much, something within him snapped.

“How am I?” He repeated in a condescending tone, taking a harsh step toward you. He repeated, “How am I?” Taking another step towards you.

“Yes [Dottore], I believe that is what I asked” You responded curtly.

He rolled his eyes – why must you always act like this. He hasn’t seen you for years and you decided to speak to him with your attitude; something that he decided he missed, but he could do without.

“God [Name], where have you been?”

You gestured around you “Snezhnaya.”

“Very funny.”

“I’m not laughing Dottore.”

He narrowed his eyes at you “So you have been avoiding me while staying in Snezhnaya – knowing that I also reside in Snezhnaya?”

You hummed mocking thoughtfulness, something that greatly irritated Dottore “Yes, I suppose that’s the case.”

“You suppose? You suppose?” 

“Yes Dottore, that is what I said – please don’t tell me that the Fatui has been damaging your memory.” 

It all clicked. The reason behind your disappearance, the reason for your avoidance, the reason why you are trying to end the current conversation that you are having with him right now – “Why do you not like the Fatui, [Name]?”

“...I don’t dislike the Fatui per se – I’d just prefer not to be associated with them.”

He didn’t like this ‘new’ version of you. The version of you that didn’t seek him out, the version of you that didn’t want to be around him; the version of you that didn’t need him.

Both of you stood there in silence. Dottore scrutinizing every part of your appearance while you stood there, picking at your nails.

After a few minutes, you were the first to break the silence.

“It was nice catching up with you Dottore – but I’m afraid I must leave now,” You said, taking a step around him.

He watched your figure slowly disappear into the distance, not saying anything to stop you. Why would he? He knows you are in Snezhnaya and he knows that he has diplomatic power that is connected to a military detachment. He has you right where he wants you. 

He smiles, resembling something almost sinister.

“Dottore, can you stop glaring at me…I can feel my brain cells fizzing out” 

Man, he despises you.

Sumeru Akademiya is filled with some of the brightest students of all time, but to be beaten by someone like you infuriates him. He’s convinced you’re setting him up; you have to be, he’s sure of it. Every time you walk past him with a smile he can’t help but return one of his own, and every time you start talking about something you’re passionate about he can't help but listen in.

He finds it annoying that you are attractive and smart – he’d never admit it though.

“I’ll glare wherever I please [Name]” He says, narrowing his eyes at you. 

He hates his infatuation with you. He hates the hold you have on him. He hates your pretty little smile and your pretty little laugh. He hates you. 

God, he hates you.

“Oh, Dottore! I have a question for you— hey wait —I was talking to someone…Let go of me!” 

Dottore heard your complaints as your friend dragged you away. 

He hates that he can’t have a conversation with you. He hates how your friends drag you away from him when they see him approaching. He hates how you’re everything he’s not and so much more. He hates how he stays awake at night trying to impress you. He hates how you seem to care for him and everyone else around you truly. 

Dottore is a smart man. Yet a man as smart as him struggles with coming to terms with his emotions. After all, he believes feigning annoyance is more manageable than coming to terms with his true emotions. 

He believes that there's an odd charm to you. After all, to attract attention from someone like him you have to have something special about you. 

He’s needy — whiny too. He isn’t afraid to voice his opinions if he’s aware of the feelings you both share mutually. 

He gets jealous quite easily. You are the only person who hasn’t treated him like a complete asshole so he’s a bit possessive and protective over you. 

He isn’t the aggressive possessive type though, he's the sad overthinking type. Unless his jealousy sparks from someone he doesn’t like, then he becomes the whiny, clingy, and evasive type. All he really wants to do is be around you and protect you even if you can protect yourself. 

He likes it when you sit in his lab and help him with his experiments, but if you choose not to help him with his experiments he can settle for you just being around him. 

He’s a bit dense when it comes to you flirting with him, but he is absolute shit at flirting. He’d either forget what he was going to say, say it wrong, or end up directing an insult at you. 

“Ah [Name], I like your shirt — it almost fits you.”

“Dottore what the fuck is that supposed to mean?”

He’d be so confused after that. He might even suck up his pride and ask Pantalone what he did wrong. 

Dottore also thinks he’s super slick about his feelings for you. He thinks he’s subtle when he dotes on you, giving you almost anything you want or need. He also stares at you a lot when you aren’t facing him; he genuinely thinks you don’t notice when he is staring at you. 

Any observer would question your safety though. They would be extremely confused by his change in demeanor but mortified by the way his eyes follow your figure. They would probably say a prayer for your safety and avoid you at all costs. 

He’d pick up more domestic roles for you. Shopping, cooking, basic date night stuff — if you really want it, he’ll do it…That doesn’t mean he’s good at it though. He’s a sweetheart with psychopathic tendencies and an inability to cook anything that needs to be heated.

“Dottore please stop cooking for me, I appreciate the effort but I don’t like coming to your house to help put out a fire — Why are you doing this for me anyways?”

“You know why [Name].”

“Yeah, but I’d like to hear you say it”

“Hey [Name]! Are you my appendix? I don’t know what you do or how you work, but I feel like I should take you out.” Dottore says, smiling at you smugly.

Frowning, you respond, “Dottore, you are literally a doctor. Shouldn’t you know what an appendix does?”

He’s pretty upset that his pickup line did not work on you.

You seem to have so much fun with your colleagues saying random pickup lines — so he wonders why you don't like his pickup lines.

Also, all his pickup lines are either super shitty, extremely morbid, or make no sense.

He also tends to forget the pickup line halfway through saying it.

“[Name], have you…” Dottore says, trailing off, eventually diverting his eyes from your face to his hands.

“Have I..?” You respond, confused.

Further examining his hands, he proceeds to tell you that he forgot what he was going to say and then speed walks — borderline sprinting back to his lab.

At the beginning Yanfei had zero idea why or how she was dragged into a salmon sky with embers of pyro floating around.

Not being able to move any part of her body was a major part of concern. She dimly wonders if she should have paid more attention to the adepti history.

Nothing she could do about it now, really all she could look at was this...person?

You were cute but being in a rectangle with only a face and some shoulders to be seen would be off-putting to anyone.

You go around her body quietly, getting close before moving back, inspecting her she realizes.

"Yanfei you're really cute."

Yanfei doesn't know how to react to a stranger calling her that but she can't refuse considering her condition. In fact it makes her feel a little bashful.

Peculiar

You smile tiredly as her body starts moving on it's own.

The feel of noctilucous jade was familiar as well as the action of setting it on the scale. Small hums escape her as she does so before the scale disappears.

"The little details like your antler rings and mora accessories suit you nicely."

Yanfei doesn't get embarrassed that easily but you paying such attention to her still makes her feel a bit flushed.

Suddenly she's speaking, "My name is Yanfei, top legal expert in Liyue-"

Her mouth moves as if it has a mind of its own. Sure, this is stuff she would say if she met Y/N under normal standards.

But you were not Y/n. And this was anything but normal!

Her mouth continues to talk about different topics until she says something that didn't quite make sense.

"A client? Very pleased to meet you, here's my card. I'm afraid I can't leave my desk today-"

This wasn't her office but then again it wasn't raining when she spoke earlier but from her first words, she thought you might have been drawing out her thoughts.

"...you came to chat as friends with a legal expert that you've never met before... care to explain?"

But Yanfei met Y/n before, saying she never met them is a direct contradictory.

"Thats strange. I guess they made this in case the player got her before finishing the Liyue quest."

Quest? What quest? Who's 'they'? What players are you talking about?

She doesn't have enough clues to figure out what is going on but someone else does.

You had the power to render her, a half-adepti, immobile and draw out private information from her. Would you force her to forget or keep quiet about it?

She's taken from her thoughts when she's dropped back into her chair. The feeling similar to being scared awake when you fall in your dreams.

Scrambling for the time Yanfei stresses over how long she was stuck in that limbo.

No time passed.

She stares blankly at it with disbelief. Could you control time too?

Her half-eaten breakfast is still hot, the tea hasn't finished boiling either.

Yanfei wants to brush it off as a daydream but the evidence says otherwise. And she was a woman of the law if not anything else.

Y/n was a clear part in this scenario but tracking down the traveler was hard. From the rumors, she might be trying to get to Inazuma right now!

Other than an early morning appointment, Yanfei was surprisingly clear for the day.

After the client left, Yanfei didn't hesitate to go looking for the traveler. Her first stop being the adventures guild to see if she was on a commission.

Climbing up the stairs in haste she looks at the reception desk. An adventurer was expected, not the fatui.

Yet there he was, Tartaglia the 11th of the fatui harbingers.

The fatui didn't have a good reputation being the cause of multiple cases she's gotten ever since they made moves into Liyue. Childe was also blamed for the Osial attack.

Combining that with his already bloodthirsty reputation made his appearance even more suspicious.

It was easy to tell something was off about him. He stood with a blank look and had a fire in him, she could tell it was the same as hers with the only difference being his burned far more brightly.

Did he experience it too?

It was risky to talk to him but she needed answers.

She stretched her arm out and opened her mouth to grab his attention when a light consumed her sight.

Yanfei didn't realize she closed her eyes until she was blinking rapidly to chase away the lingering brightness.

Katheryne and Lan didn't react at all, was it another thing you did to them? In fact that warmth you planted in her felt cold...

Looking back to Tartaglia she was shocked at his disappearance.

Instead Y/n stood in his place.

Sighing Y/n rubbed at her eyes and muttered "I don't think I'll ever get used to that."

Yanfei grinned at the traveler, Y/n saw that brightness too. In fact, the warmth was in Y/n as well!

"Y/n!" Yanfei grabbed the travelers wrist as Y/n turned to look at her.

"You saw that bright light too right? And um you saw that person in the rectangle too?" Loud at first Yanfei quieted down as she finished.

Y/n was shocked, for a long time no one else could see it. What made Yanfei see when even a yaksha and a god couldn't?

"Yeah, you're the first I found you could see it. You probably saw Y/n too right?"

Yanfei tilted her head in confusion, "What are you talking about? You are Y/n... right?"

Y/n(?) shook her head 'no' and gestured Yanfei to follow her as she walked away.

"No, I'm Lumine. I'll explain everything I can in a more private setting."

Staying quiet Yanfei followed Y/- Lumine.

Eventually they arrived at the very last dock, far away enough that no one could overhear. The sun was still high in the sky as they both sat on the dock.

Lumine looked at Yanfei with a serious expression, "The truth is, is that this whole world is a game."

Yanfei could only deadpan.

Lumine launched into a series of explanations starting with the fact that you are that warmth that enters them through 'pulling' which would be the meteor showers that only vision holders could see. To how you can control them and make them stronger through upgrades that Yanfei has never heard of. Pointing out the world's bizarre behavior when you are 'playing'. And how you watch and control them through a screen, the same screen that allows them to see you.

"Okay, I don't want to believe it but let's say I do. What sets us apart from the rest that allows us to see Y/n and know the truth?"

Yanfei didn't want to think about everything done was all for naught when someone could just change it.

How long her father fought for Liyue when it could have been prevented easily.

Cause it was only a game...

Lumine pointed up to the sky as stars began to emerge from the darkening sky.

"It was when all my constellations glowed or activated that I was able to see the truth and see them. Before that my head was hazy and I didn't question all the strange things happening. Are all 6 of your constellations activated?"

Yanfei didn't need to look up at the sky to know the answer. When those shooting stars filled the sky, she briefly noticed her constellation glowing in completion, but she didn't care about power and brushed it off.

Lumine frowned at Yanfei's silence. She already knew the answer to her question, she kept meticulous track after all. She needed to know her rivals allies well after all.

"Yeah, they did. Did that not happen to anyone else? In fact how many of us are there?"

Lumine nodded and spoke, "You're the first that was c6'ed, that's what they call it, and I wanted to check in to see if my theory was right."

Yanfei pursed her lips as she asked the question that had bouncing in her mind since she was first controlled.

"Constellations grant power, since I've been c6'd does that mean they'll force me on their team? It's not like I can refuse or even show that I don't want to..."

Lumine shook her head, "No, they won't"

"What makes you so sure?"

Gazing at the waves Lumine responded, "It isn't cheap to make us stronger and they invested a lot in their current team. Plus, they have have rather specific taste..."

Ignoring the last part Yanfei sighed in relief, being stuck as a random person puppet wasn't ideal. Still how could she ever be sure when you were going to pause their world?

The traveler spoke up again, "I have a few theories at the moment but I'll wait to share until I have more proof. Right now I can only tell you that the time in this world and theirs is different. They say that'll see me tomorrow and disappear for a month. Sometimes later sometimes earlier but they always leave saying 'Goodbye I'll see you tomorrow'. So I don't think they're lying."

"Then we'll have to deal with them for a few weeks then get about a month break?" Yanfei sighed as she imagined being stuck in limbo and slowly forgetting what legal case she was dealing with.

"I'll take what I can get. If that's the last thing you can warn me about then I'll be going. I can already see the line of clients in the morning."

Lumine nodded as she got back to her feet.

Yanfei smiled at the blonde as she spoke, "Thank you for clearing this up. You really are one of a kind. I felt like I was going crazy by myself. Remember if you have any legal trouble in Inazuma I can help you out!"

After that they both went their ways, but Yanfei could tell that Lumine was a little bitter at not being used as much.

Yanfei entered the Wanmin Restaurant and ordered an almond tofu to start off. After all nothing like a sweet treat to melt away the stress of a pausing nightmare week.

As she waited for her food, she watched Xiangling cook and deliver food in its usual fast pace.

Bright and cheery as always Xiangling greeted each customer.

The eyebags didn't escape Yanfei's sight.

Looking closer Yanfei could see Xiangling nodding off before startling awake when another customer comes in.

"Sorry for the wait! Lots of customers have been coming in due to Lantern Rite approaching. Enjoy your food!"

Xiangling still smiled as she set down the plate of tofu. Yanfei didn't know Xiangling personally, she only came for their food really, so she only looked at Xiangling as she thanked her.

The words died in her throat as the world sped up into day.

Again

Xiangling's eye twitched and Yanfei covered her face with her hands as she groaned in despair.

"Um Yanfei right?"

Xiangling looked nervous and up close Yanfei could see that the poor girl was starting to lose it.

"You can see it right? The night turning into day, that's why you are upset."

Yanfei sighed tiredly and nodded. That was all Xiangling needed. She grabbed the half-adepti by the shoulders and got closer.

"Please tell me you know what's going on! I've barely got any sleep these past few weeks. I feel like I'm going crazy since no one else can see it."

Yanfei didn't want to get more involved with you, but she had been wanting to tell someone else about this that wouldn't automatically regard her as crazy. The young girl's touch also revealed the warmth in her.

'I guess we're in this together.' Yanfei shrugged off Xiangling's hands and grabbed her plate of almond tofu.

Walking leisurely to the entrance, Yanfei turned her head slightly to face Xiangling.

"You coming or what?"

Xiangling could cry in happiness, finally answers!

Yanfei was an intimidating lawyer in Liyue. So, she'll either get charged with insanity, collapse from stress and lack of sleep, or get some answers (and a solution if the archons allow it).

All done! Would you believe me if I said that this is only half and I split it due to length and time? I really suck at sad stuff so don't be too mad about it. This is my first time writing genshin characters so tell me if it's too ooc!

Either way Xiangling was done with this bullshit.

“Dottore.” You call out, “I made your favorite.” “Why?” Dottore responds. “Do you need something? You could just ask if you do, there's no need to do such things for a favor.” “Dottore it’s 8:00 pm and it’s the first time you’ve been home in weeks, I missed you.” “Oh…”

He tries to keep you away from his work seeing how dangerous and unappealing it is from the general public’s perspective. He might even try to lie about it at first. (He's a horrible liar at times.)

“Dottore, why are there Fatui agents outside?” Picking at his nails he responds “Fatui Agents? Outside? Never heard of them. In fact, I’ve never been outside Dear.” You roll your eyes “Dottore they called you ‘Lord Harbinger’ I think you know who they are.” “Are you calling me a liar?” He scoffs, clearly offended. “Yes Dottore, I am calling you a liar.” “Rude.”

He told you about his affiliation with the Fatui twenty minutes later – it’s not like it was much of a secret anyways.

I believe he’d open up fairly quickly and be absurdly touch starved. I mean, he did enter a relationship with you, so he has to trust you to some extent. All he wants is a hug, so please just hug him.

He’s also a little shit when he’s annoyed by or at you. If you guys get in a petty argument he probably moves all the stuff you use to the high shelves (if you're shorter than him) or any area you would struggle to reach just so you would have to ask him for help getting the object down. He’s probably hidden the chairs before just to make sure you can’t reach what you need. If you are taller than him he would simply hide the objects you need so you would ask him to look for them with you.  

He’s made inventions as little keepsakes for you. He has things that remind him of you at his office, so he wants you to have things that remind you of him at yours. 

He’s kind of a big bully as a lover, he’d pick on you and not know when to stop; but if what he had said has hurt your feelings he’d do his best to make it up to you without apologizing. It’s not that he’s not sorry – he is, believe him. He just doesn’t know how to apologize.

I believe his love language is quality time or gift giving. He’s shit with words and doesn’t know how to initiate physical affection (it does get better over time, but it’s still not the best). 

I mainly believe quality time is his main love language because he’s not used to someone that willingly wants to be around him, and he finds the feeling to be addicting. If he’s working on something at home or on the off chance he has free time from work, he wants to be around you.

You handed Dottore the book and left the classroom after that. You didn’t know him that well, you saw him around campus once in a while and you heard the rumors about him, but you never really talked to him. In all honesty, you didn’t care about him or his rumors. ‘Madman’ this, ‘homicidal maniac’ that, he’s passing his classes with higher marks than everyone else so he has to be doing something right. Right?

Ever since Dottore ‘met’ you, he’s been preoccupied with trying to find out more about you. Most people don’t hit a stranger over the head with a book. He’s overheard conversations about you and has been trying to find out what kind of person you are. Most people at the akademiya despise him – do you despise him too? Did you want a favor from him? So many questions about you plagued his mind since that day.

The first time you had a verbal conversation with Dottore was after one of your classes. You were having an existential crisis behind a building because you slept through your lecture and didn’t understand half of the material, and he was trying to hide from other students.

“I’m so going to fail, what does this even mean – maybe it’s not too late to drop out...”

“[Name] it’s halfway through the second semester, yes it’s too late to drop out now.” 

At that moment, you started to realize that you didn’t really like Dottore. He’s not…awful, it’s more like he laughed at you mid-breakdown. Yeah, you can have inhumane experimentation ideas, but laughing at your panicked state was a big no-no. (It’s fine, you started to like him more as you got to know him better.)

You proceeded to try to subtly avoid him after that. You were polite to him because you had to be, but you didn’t want to deal with him too much after that conversation, but that’s hard to do when you saw him almost everywhere. Dottore was like gum stuck to your shoe that you couldn’t get rid of. 

Honestly having him around you wasn’t too bad, and after a little bit, you started to enjoy his presence. You kept the bullies away from him, and he helped you pass the classes that you tended to sleep through. Sometimes you felt sorry for him though, he is a little odd – if you count inhumane scientific suggestions as odd; but they’re just suggestions, right? So no harm done. Plus, his ideas were slightly interesting if you thought about it. 

The more you willingly hung out with Dottore, the more he grew addicted to the feeling. After a certain point, he starts to think of you as a close friend. Seeing how you were his only friend.

Dottore as your friend is a good and bad thing. It’s a good thing because he’s extremely helpful when it comes to your classes and he’s an entertaining person to be around, but it’s a bad thing because he’s such a wildcard.

He’ll bully you and pull pranks on you all the time. Your least favorite prank that he pulled on you was when he hid your Sumeru Akademiya uniform from you. Or when he promised to help you study but spoke in Fontaine/Fontais (French) the whole time.

I think Dottore’s feelings for you kind of snowballed. It slowly built up till the realization just kind of…crashed into him. He confirmed his feelings for you after he received a birthday gift from you. It was something really trivial honestly. He offhandedly mentioned that it was his birthday a few days prior and was surprised to see you with a neatly wrapped package the next day at his front door.

“Why are you here [Name]?”

“This is for you Dottore.”

Dottore looks at you puzzled “A package?”

You sigh “A gift you idiot. A gift for you – for your birthday.”

Looking at you like you're the weirdest thing he has seen he says “A gift for my birthday?”

“Yes Dottore, a gift for your birthday.”

“Why would I need a gift for my birthday?”

“Have you never received a birthday gift before Dottore?”

“...No?”

He was pleasantly surprised to see a mini tool kit inside the package. You knew he liked tinkering with stuff, and he was surprised you remembered that. He just kind of stood there in thought for a bit after that and was like 'wow this is nice, someone cares about my wellbeing'.

I also think Dottore would try to impress you by complimenting you or trying to “flirt” with you. Keyword – try. He’s so shit at it, it’s not even funny. He tries, he really does. He just wants you to feel like how he feels when he’s around you. He’s just not as good with his words as you are, though that could be because he was shunned by mostly everyone in his life for his whole life. 

When he’s complimenting you it either doesn’t make a lot of sense or it’s extremely backhanded, and when he’s trying to flirt with you he either forgets what he was supposed to say or just starts to insult you.

“[Name] if you were a…”

“If I was a?”

“I forgot what I was going to say [Name].”

Dottore isn’t really the type of person to do anything when he has a crush on someone. He won't actively try to seek out a relationship with you mainly because he doesn’t want to ruin the relationship he has with you. He may be bad with social cues, but he understands if you don’t reciprocate the feelings he has for you it could mess up your guys’ current relationship.

On a different note, he’d do anything for you. You were the only person who really showed him any form of kindness, even if that kindness was extremely minuscule at first. He appreciates everything you've done for him – whether that’s getting him gifts, or cooking him meals, he’s really thankful you do that for him. He’s just so whipped for you.
