so, im still not sure what did it. ive never beeped before. this is the easiest store in my area and i’m in triple figures for it. careless staff, unmanned fitting rooms and little hard tags. i destroyed the rf1d (ripped in a fair few pieces - it was a stubborn one - and no hard or soft tags were in the shoes (all i took), no matter how often i looked. i still cant find any now. my friend thinks that they forgot to deactivate the rf1d for the shirt she brought? or the towers were being faulty? i think i might have not destroyed the rf1d for the shoes sufficently, honestly. anyway. i beeped walking out. stopped for a minute. turned to my friend and went “huh, thats weird” then carried on walking. no staff came, thank fuck. ive seen people be waved off before here. anyway, im gonna avoid this store for a bit. and bring scissors next lift.

and remember, even following all this: you're probably still gonna get assholes. just block em and move on.

hiding and concealment is one of the keystones to good lifting so i’m glad you brought it up! and it’s the age-old question behind everything we do: how do i disguise the fact that i’m not holding the thing anymore?i’ve come up with a handy little acronym to help everyone with their blind-spot needs: l.i.c.klocate the blindspot and make sure you’re not missing any camera domes/employee entrances and exits.is there another person around? is the shelf tall enough to hide you, is there a window right behind you, etc? if everything looks safe, proceed nonchalantly to the blind spot. the key will be to be holding something that’ll distract from the fact that you don’t have the item you just had. it can be as big as your jacket or as small as your phone. experienced lifters can use other items from the store as well.conceal. make it short and snappy in the blind spot, if you’re there a long time and emerge with nothing, it’ll look weird. be holding something when you emerge.keep walking. i’d advise holding one or more items in your hands at all times that you will either place back where they belong or plan to purchase, or something that belongs to youhope that helped! don’t forget to l.i.c.k stuff!
