What more could you ask for?

Mark and I had an incredible week in Copenhagen. Staying in a cute apartment north of the city, we had so much time and space to recharge and relax. When we did venture out of the apartment, we got to experience things like acro yoga class/jam in a park, cyr wheel at a huge multicenter, lindy hop on a floating dock, homebrew and boardgames at a friendly boardgame cafe, and of course, an intensive fusion workshop with a group of eager dancers.

Nuno and Theis, our hosts/organizers/life-friends, were such a lovely treat to add to our European travels. We are already planning our next visit :-)

Germany was many things. We flew into Berlin from Barcelona. I had already started the epic throws of my sickness so the flight and transit was not the most enjoyable day I’ve ever had. We booked a hotel for our first night in the city so I could have a clean/private room to cough up my lungs all night. Mission accomplished. 

From there, we met up with Lucas, the tango instructor that hired us on to teach with him at the Queer Tango Festival. We got to lesson plan for a couple hours and get to know each other. The class ended up being a great success. It was really fun to teach in a 3 person dynamic for a change.

Since we only were working in Berlin for one day out of our 11 day visit, we had lots of time for exploring as well as just getting un-sick. Our days were filled with mini-excursions to parks, cooking, eating-out, and watching “Tiny House Nation” when I was feeling the worst.

I finally felt reasonably better enough to endure a 4 hour walking tour through Berlin. It was fantastic. Learned a lot. Saw a lot. Words are hard.

The longest most epic day ended up being a 4 museum kind of day. After that, we were pretty museumed-out and hermitted a bit before our next adventure to Copenhagen.

Overall, I enjoyed Berlin. I definitely would’ve enjoyed it more had I been 100% the whole time, but that’s understandable. I’ll have to give it a chance for the wow factor to hit on another visit.
