Get yourself one or multiple clips of the costume you wanna edit, I‘ll demonstrate my process on my recent gifset of Nurbanu :)
Also, please keep in mind that english is not my first language and that some of the tools I use to edit clips are only available if you have Inshot Pro :/
Import your clip into Inshot and cut it down to your wished length, I always aim for the clip to be 3 seconds. (1.5 —if the moment I wanna gif is shorter I just tune down the speed of the clip)
2. After that I crop the clip:
3. (This one is optional) Then I enhance the clip with the HD tool, after applying the tool I watch the clip a few times to see if it looks smooth/better overall —if it doesn’t I just delete the enhancement.
4. Go to effects, there’s going be the four Icons which I added here in the picture, and choose adjust. The following will pop up:
There are many, many adjustments (I rarely ever use all of them) that I always set differently from gif to gif and from gif set to gif set (dependent on quality, lighting and so on of the clip), but there is a general range I often set these settings in:
Sharpen: from 5 to 50
Film Grain (I prefer this one over the other Garin adjustement because the other one tends to make the clip look like as if there was dust or so on the camera that filmed): from 0 to 25
Lightness: from 5 to 50
Contrast (careful with this one it can quickly darken the clip even if set pretty low): from 0 to 20
Saturation: from 0 to 15
Shadows (similar to contrast, though this one doesn‘t make clips appear as grey when set to a negative value): from -10 to 15
Tint (helpful to fight against a yellowish/greenish tint): dependent of clip anywhere from -10 to 10
The now following settings, Curves and HSL, are also only available with the pro version, yet they are the most crucial ones for colouring
8. With Curves my main goal is to make certain elements pop and to get rid of the green/yellow tint that MC often has. But overall you gotta experiment a little with it. I mainly work with the three dots is the middle —the first middle dots is great to colourize or decolourize shadow areas, the second helps with the vibrancy and hue of bigger areas and the third for the hue and vibrancy of highlights.
(The unedited setting are set at 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100)
9. Pretty much the star of the show, HSL lets you play around with all the colours. I personally often tone down the orange and yellow in saturation to gain a still natural looking skintone that is not over saturated with said colours. In the pictures I added each factors in each photo (p.1 is only tweaked in hues, p.2 is in hues and saturation and p.3 with all factors). Same as with curves this is an experimental field and open to be setted to your liking, so all the adjustments are just examples on how you can do it :)
And yeah, that‘s pretty much it for the editing part :3
After editing the clip I save it and proceed to drop it into Ezgif (my settings to convert them on the right)
Should your converted gif turn out with more than 9.5 MB select the Optimize option under the converted gif (the Tumblr MB limit is ten I know, but when downloading the gif from Ezgif nearly always 5 MB are then added on top so you wanted your gif to have 9.5 MB or less in Ezgif). There a quite a few optimization methods but my fav is the Lossy Gif option with a 5 to 20 setting to maintain the gif‘s quality.
Then your gifs should ready and done, I hope this easy to understand and helpful <3

What do you use to edit your gifs? Can we have a tutorial?
Hi there! :)
I use Inshot (Pro) to edit clips and Ezgif to convert them to gifs, I do not have laptop at the moment but I am looking for a good one so I’ll maybe switch over sometime to Photopea or another program (but until then, which will be a while, I’ll continue to edit with Inshot).
And I can definitely make a tutorial on how I make the gifs, I will get to it as soon as I can! <3
(If there is a specific costume you wanna see lmk, then I will make the tutorial while I am editing that set! :3)
