Black, glassy eyes regard him. How can a stare be so lifeless and so accusing all at once? “You want me to be sorry, Jonathan. You must know I won’t be smiling as I seek absolution.”

From my current WIP:

“So, I’m going to drink one pint of blood, then you’re going to the crack the overhead vent to let in a sunbeam and I’m going to stick my hand in the sunbeam. Then you’re going to use a stopwatch to see how long it takes for me to burst into flame, right?” Fangs vibrated with anticipation of both an experiment and a good meal. He sat crosslegged on the floor and jabbed his hand in and out of the taped-outline on the floor. Seonghwa had plotted the path of the noon-day sun previously.

“You’ve got the gist of it. We’re using the strongest sunlight too. In the future, we just have to experiment with the other variables, like blood quantity, quality and sun exposure.” Seonghwa stood over him, ready with his notebook, pen and a stopwatch. He looked calm, professional and collected but Fangs could hear the excitement pulsing in his veins. He looked so vital, so alive. Delicious.

“God, you’re sexy. Are all nurses sexy?” Fangs smiled up at Seonghwa, his mouth filling with saliva.

“Depends on if you’ve got a thing for bedpans and latex gloves or not.” Fangs pursed his lips as he contemplated that, then he mischievously grinned. Seonghwa cut him off before he could blurt out anything about sexy bedpans. “Absolutely not.”

“I didn’t say anything. I’m innocent.”

This is my new obsession fic. I haven’t written vampires before so this is my contribution to the lore.

1980s burnt out mental asylum nurse Seonghwa and his private patient, Fangs (Hongjoong). Fangs is locked in a plastic prison for his own good and the safety of others until he dies. The trouble is, Fangs swears that he is an immortal vampire and Seonghwa thinks he’s full of shit.

Will romance bloom? Or will there be many benzodiazepine injections? Time will tell!
