can we talk about how gabi was 100% ready to die when she went up to the zeppelin? like… she had resolved herself to it already. she has basically decided “im killing them and i *will* die trying.” and it honestly helps make sense of her earlier conversation with falco— “did you see it?” “no” “neither did i.” and then immediately going back to “they’re devils, they’re nothing like us” in order to further justify her actions, not to him but to herself. it’s easier for her to ignore reality and resolve herself to her murder plan because she knows that if she does chase after them she’s probably going to get herself killed- and if she dies she can’t exactly regret it later. like she even told falco to let people know what she did and make sure her will was carried out?? like highkey addressed him like it was the last time they’d ever see each other– “you were one of the good ones” you don’t say that to someone if you think you’re gonna live. 

man the more i’m thinking about it the more fucked up i get. cuz in the context of the scene gabi just had two of her friends and two of the only marleyans who were nice to her killed in front of her. then she saw zeke get “killed,” pieck get taken down, porco nearly get eaten, reiner taken down. not to mention her home got fucking destroyed, pretty much. and she’s 12. and we know it was personal for gabi. she wasnt following orders, she wasn’t doing this to protect other eldians (the enemy was retreating), she was doing it solely because she believed that they had to pay for the damage they caused. it was revenge. and her revenge plan was “im going to get on that zeppelin on my own and kill as many of them as i can before they kill me.” and she would’ve died!!! if it wasn’t for falco either jean & her would’ve shot each other or she would’ve killed jean and floch would’ve had her thrown off the airship. even when they captured her she was yelling about how marley was going to take them down and to “tell that to your ringleader after you kill me.” SHE WAS STILL READY TO DIE AND IT FUCKS ME UP
