LIAM ANDERSON ( NICO HIRAGA ) is an EIGHTEEN year old from SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA. HE is known around the island as THE GENTLE SOUL because he is KIND and UNDERSTANDING but can also be SHY and ANXIOUS. HE reminds of skate boards, a kind smile, grape flavored blunt wraps.

“no disrespect man, sincerely, i know you and mr hawk practice and stuff, ” blue said between bites as he sat across from his very good buddy, liam. “but like, i feel like it’d be a little easier for me to learn to skate your way, man. I’m an athlete, in a sport all about knowing how to balance, I’m like 60 percent there.” he didn’t bother to think about that number very hard but his confidence was the point anyway.

it was instantaneous, their arrival at the skate park, and despite not having them over food, he found a neon green helmet and a black skateboard in his hand. he looked bag to give a thumbs up as he confidently placed a foot towards the back of the board and another near the front, using the latter to kick off. it wasn’t until he was lying on his back, looking up at liam that he realized what has happened. “huh… that didn’t work, man. help me up?” he asked, arm extended and ready to accept liam’s expertise.

“i dunno, man, you’s seems way easier,” he said with a laugh. “you i’d like to see you try.” of course, ice skating and skateboarding were two completely different things with two totally different skills, but he still felt like he had a point to prove for his sport of choice. though, if he was being honest, he knew he would be on his ass in two seconds if he tried to skate with blue. 

he was excited to be able to teach blue something liam loved so much. and with blue’s confidence, he thought this was a great idea. he was standing close to the other boy but giving him enough space to give it ago. but after a very short second, blue was on the ground and the board flying away from him. “shit,” he said, trying to not laugh at his friend’s misfortune. jogging slight, he was about to stop the board before it mowed down some poor kid. grabbing it he got back to blue, reaching his other hand out to help him up. “yeah, it was a good go, but maybe we should just work on your form first. you gotta push with your back foot.”

the adams were gone, off on the mission of finding blue and bringing him back to camp, hopefully in one piece; which left liam alone. well not completely alone, there was jj, but that was almost worse than being alone. not that he’d ever say that out loud. there was just something about jj that made liam uncomfortable. maybe it was the fact that he talked and acted like a robot, but liam would have rather the others left him alone completely than with jj. so rather than have some awkward moments with the other boy, liam decided to go on a walk to clear his head. he grabbed one of the journals and went on his way. despite his healing wounds, it felt nice to be on his feet and doing something. he made his way up to one of the cliffs, standing up on the edge and looking out at the water.

“ well, one, i’m pure rubbish at fishing, ” he said, counting on his fingers, “ and two, i’m not stepping back into that clearing unless my life depends on it. like, where do they figure that pig’s gone ? into the ocean ? piss off. ” wolves were bad enough to deal with, but the five boys going on the axe search party must’ve had a death wish if they were willing to risk coming face-to-face with that demon hog again. not kian. he actually kind of wanted to live, thanks. stretching his legs out in the sand, he slotted one between each of dash and liam’s. “ i told them i’d tend to your wounds and make sure you’re hydrated, but really, i just wanted an excuse to laze around and chat shit. ”

Dash picked at the knot that tied the ripped up t-shirt around his waist as Kian listed off his reasons, then snorted when the other boy got to the end. “Ah. Theeeere it is,” he dryly said to Liam. He felt he was in the same situation as yesterday when he told Kian he wasn’t going to make good company anytime soon, and hoped he wouldn’t be expected to do much more than nod and breathe. His brow furrowed as he pinched harder at the offensive bits of fabric until it finally came loose. He tried to be careful in pulling it off then rolling it up, but mostly he just let it fall into his lap. The wound somehow looked even grosser than it did before, inflamed with weird watery fluids filling in the gaps. Dash wrinkled up his nose. Before he reached for the container of Vaseline, he flicked the bottom of Kian’s foot. “Well if you’re here to play half-assed nurse, least you can do is keep us entertained.” He gestured between himself and Liam, then nodded toward the jungle behind him as he dipped his first two fingers into the salve. “So what’re everyone’s guesses on how that whole thing’s gonna pan out?”

“mmm,” liam humbled at dash’s comment, rolling his eyes slightly. his head rolled back lazily before landing on his shoulder to look back at kian. while he also didn’t want to go back into the jungle any time soon, seems little fishy (no pun intended) that kian would rather sit on the beach with he and dash instead of doing something useful. but then again, kian was one of the ones who always wanted to do the exact opposite as what the rest of the group wanted. liam’s eyes drifted down as dash revealed his wound. a grimace coming across his face when he finally got his first sight of it. it looked pretty bad, probably needed a lot more than just some vaseline that’s been sitting in the sun for 11 days. but instead of voicing that out loud, he just went along with dash’s egging. “yeah, we are the patients after all,” even thought liam was in far better shape than dash was. “my guess? lukas is going to come back with a black eye but hopefully they get the axe. the guys fishing will have some homoerotic moment but wont catch anything because while jj is smart, i don’t thought those guys can be quiet long enough to not scare the fish away.”

when: day 11, noon where: the camp @dashmendoza & @liamxanderson​

after what happened yesterday, kian didn’t much feel like braving the jungle again for a plane axe ( and did there really need to be five people looking for it at once ? ) and he couldn’t participate in homoerotic topless fishing for obvious reasons ( that one kian was actually quite bummed about ), so he figured he’d make himself useful back at camp. after all, that was where dash and liam were, and kian had sort of come to consider them his closest acquaintances – dare he even say friends. 

“ rise and shine, boys, ” he said, stepping over their idle bodies where they snoozed in the shade. “ your sexy nurse is here with salve. ” the salve in question was actually a travel-sized pot of petroleum jelly he found in that pink suitcase, but ointment was ointment. kian sat cross-legged at their feet and held the little container out for them to take. “ how are we faring on the healing front, snog hogs ? ”

Dash didn’t particularly want to try his hand at fishing and he definitely didn’t want to traipse back into the jungle anytime soon, but sitting around and doing nothing was figuratively killing him. He jiggled his foot restlessly and chewed on the chain of his necklace where he lay on his designated pink towel, and only grunted in response to Kian’s greeting. Dash opened one eye only for it to narrow at the ‘salve’ that was extended toward him. “Itchy,” he stated unfeelingly. “Exhausting as all fuck.” Though that was definitely in part thanks to the ongoing comedown.

He ran his palms down the front of his face, then dipped his chin to look at the bandage that covered the wound on his side. It all looked the same to him. With a soft groan, borne mostly from irritation rather than actual pain, he pushed himself up into a sitting position. He nabbed the ointment from Kian and turned his hand to get a look at the label. Vaseline. Good enough. Dash lifted it a little then nodded in thanks. It would take him a moment to unwrap his makeshift bandage, so he merely passed it over to Liam to use first. “So why’d you stay behind, K-man?”

liam was more than happy to stay put on the shore with dash. while he did feel at home out on the water since growing up in california, he didn’t feel up to fishing with the boys after everything that happened the day before. and he definitely wasn’t going to go limping through the jungle with the others looking for the missing axe. he needed a day off. but even so, he felt restless. he was laying in the sand, bunny tucked under his head while he fidgeted with his tech deck in hopes that his anxiety would go away. hearing kian join them, he sat up. “sadly still alive,” he answered along with dash. 

taking the container from dash as he passed it over, liam offered both boys a smile. pulling his ripped pant leg up, he uncapped the vaseline and took a small amount to rub on his wounds. he may not have gotten it as bad as dash and needed to be stitched up, but the shit still hurt. “yeah? didn’t feel like getting murdered in the jungle too?” liam asked, setting the vaseline in the sand next to dash. 

blue had stayed towards the back of the pack, and although he observed the boar or whatever before it got to them, he didnt see it attack liam. seeing the aftermath of it was enough stress, he couldn’t believe how bad this kid’s luck was. blue offered what he could to help the injured but he felt the lump in his throat that let him know those tears were going to follow.

it was quiet, just whatever sleepy sounds liam made, and blue figured he’d be out for awhile so he felt okay about letting it go.

he was looking out at the water when he heard liam’s voice. “oh, hey buddy.” blue wiped away his tears, sniffling a little as he moved closer to liam. “it’s okay, there was like…a wild pig or something. it hurt you a bit but, ” he sighed heavily, “but you’re gonna be fine. are you hurting anywhere?”

liam looked over to see blue sitting next to him. he caught him wiping away tears from his eyes and he couldn’t help but feel his chest tighten at the thought of someone crying over him. “shit,” he mumbled. pulling himself up to sit up right, liam reached out and put his hand on blue’s shoulder. he always felt a connection with the other boy, they seemed to be two of the softer ones out of the group and liam liked that. “i’m kinda sore, but i’ll live. don’t worry about me,” he said giving blue a soft smile. “can’t believe that happened. i mean not only are there animals here but like, it attacked us? crazy,” he shook his head lightly, trying to remember what happened but it was all a blur.

“You know those slow-cooked rotisserie chickens they got spinning at the grocery store?” Dash asked, happy that the sun had finally set. The worst of it had been at high noon. Even his sweat aggravated the fuck out of his injuries. He shot a commiserating smile up at Liam. “I feel like one of those poor bastards.” He blinked, then snorted a laugh. “Wait, no. More like those massive al pastor things they got at some Mexican restaurants. Yunno? My meat’s getting slow-cooked and then shaved off for public consumption. That’s the total vibe.” His skin was hot and tight, and he felt about five minutes away from passing the fuck out. Abruptly, his stomach growled loudly enough for them both to hear. Too much talk about food. “Shit,” he bemoaned, and set the sketchbook he’d been flipping through aside. “I can’t believe no one got the fucker. We could’ve had one of those, uh. Hawaiian-style pig roasts…” Dash trailed off, fantasizing about the prospect out of both literal hunger and a desire for retributive justice. He looked back to Liam, then glanced at the abrasions on Liam’s skin. “How’re you holding up? Daydreaming any revenge schemes, too?”

a breathy chuckle escaped from liam as he sat down next to the other boy. he waited to see where this food tangent was going but the idea of it only made him more aware of his hunger. “i feel it, dude,” he said with a nod. though, liam felt more like a jell-o cup you’d get at a hospital, just sitting in a container and wobbling any time he made the slightest movement. he’s felt like that for days now. lack of food and all the trauma they had to deal with. “god, i can imagine the feast that bastard would have been,” he said, shaking his head. maybe if they hadn’t stopped to take the shroom break, they would have been able to get the fucker. if they weren’t all tripping, maybe he and dash wouldn’t be sitting here, banged up and in pain. as he thought about his, his eyes started drifting over to dash, getting his first look at the damage that was done to him by the boar. he definitely got the shit end of the stick on it. “ya know, still alive, not really kicking though,” he said, trying to make a bad joke. “mm, yeah, we’ll get that fucker. i can already smell it. or maybe i’m just having a stroke,” another bad joke. something he did when he felt anxious and needed to hide it. 

after everything with the day, liam had spent most of the day sitting around camp and trying to recover from everything. thankfully the shrooms were mostly out of his system so he could actually walk around without feeling like he was going to fall over. but with sobriety came the pain from miss piggy’s attack. he spent some time, stripped down to his boxers and standing in the ocean up to his knees in hopes that the salt water would help his cuts. he considered pulled a lukas and cutting his pants into shorts now that they her all ripped up but considering how cold it got at night, he didn’t want to have to sleep in shorts and freeze for however long they were stuck here. glancing over his shoulder back towards the others, his eyes found dash. after everything, he gave the other boy space as everyone took care of him and his injuries. but now that he was alone, liam figured it was safe to see how he was doing. he left the water and grabbed his pants from where they sat in the sand and walked over to the other boy. “hey dude,” he announced before sitting down in the sand next to him. “how are you feeling?”

“Probably because Miss Piggy fucking got you, dude,” Callum broke the news. “Like check your legs.” He pointed at Liam’s lower half awkwardly. “I woulda helped clean it out or something but it’s not like we’ve got anything proper for it. ‘sides everyone was kinda making sure Dash didn’t croak.” Though hearing the guy be all dramatic about his injuries, there were times Callum wished he would have just passed out from the pain. (Obviously not die. He didn’t like the dude but he wasn’t a psycho.)

“Wish I had something to give you, man. All I’ve gots…” He dug his hand into the pocket of his pants and pulled out a tube of extra strength Icy Hot pain relief cream that was nearly finished. “Don’t think you’re supposed to rub this shit on exposed wounds either.” He tucked it back in his pocket. “Maybe some water? Doesn’t enough of it like, take away a headache or some shit?” He swore he read something about that once. “Uhh yeah,” he answered after a quick look over his shoulder at the rest of the group. “I guess we’re alright.” Callum was assuming so anyway because the rest of them weren’t bleeding out or banged up. “Except Dash obviously. Dude’s sufferin’.”

“shit,” he said, the word getting drawn out as his brain tried to catch up on everything. looking down at his leg, he could see the rips in his pants and the cuts underneath. if he wasn’t still riding the tail end of the shroom wave, he’d probably be a little more alarmed and aware of the pain. callum pointed out that they didn’t have any actual first aid to help the two boys and liam felt a little defeated. up until now, it was all about surviving and making sure they don’t die. and sure, he was fine for the post part and judging by the fuss dash was making, he’ll be okay with time. but if this had gone any worse, they would have been completely fucked.

watching as the other boy pulled out a tube of icy hot, liam offered a smile. “yeah, probably not good to put that on open wounds. thanks though.” he had to hand it to him, liam thought callum was just some asshole jock who would be happy to let someone like him bleed out in the jungle. but he really judged him wrong. the fact that he helped him and stayed by his side really said something to his character. “um yeah, water would help.” even if it didn’t help his head, it was at least better than nothing. but then he finally looked over at the group around dash and he started worry about the pink haired boy. “how bad is he?” he asked, looking over at callum again, almost scared to know the answer.

What a fucking day, huh. After the group managed to carry Liam and Dash back to camp and as those far more skilled than him went about starting first aid, Lukas had retreated to the shore. Trying to use the cold salt water to soothe all the fucking shit coursing through him. A nasty come down, a violently queasy stomach, and not to mention washing Dash’s blood from his hands. He couldn’t quite get all of it off, but he got enough that his heart didn’t start racing every time he looked down. Back at camp he’d slyly palmed Dash one of the pills from his pocket and taken one for himself too, no longer caring what effects Xanax on an empty stomach would bring. Not that long after he’d curled up on the edge of camp, away from the rest to wallow in self pity and even fell into a little afternoon depression nap.

By the time he found the motivation to move again the sun had already gone down. The fire and the moon being the only things providing light to their little group. Feeling a need to do something so he didn’t just lie down until the sweet embrace of death finally took him, he looked around for his axe, inspired to cut some firewood or something. But after a few moments of looking, a realisation occurred. He’d definitely taken it out into the jungle that morning. A weapon for the wolf hunt, but it seemed he hadn’t returned with it. He looked for a bit longer, desperately praying he’d just left it somewhere at camp, but he knew it wasn’t true, he knew he didn’t do that, he knew he’d dropped it somewhere out in the jungle. Between the MDMA, the shrooms, and then finally the boar attack on Dash and Liam, he’d definitely just fucking left it somewhere. Fuck.

Eventually he gave up the search, he knew where the axe was. Not exactly. Shit, he couldn’t even tell you where in the jungle they’d been all day, but he knew he hadn’t brought it back with him. Turning to the group, he felt nervous to address them for the first time, knowing that this was probably not gonna end well. “ Okay, uh– confession time. ” He addressed the group, clapping his hands together. “ But y’all gotta promise not to be mad at me. ” He joked weakly, knowing full well that wasn’t gonna fuckin’ happen but not being able to be serious not even for a second. “ I don’t know where the axe is. ” He confessed, feeling all sorts of shit and not just from the come down. His hand lifted, rubbing at the back of his neck in an act of self soothing. “ Well– I’m guessing I, uh, dropped it out there. But point is, I don’t have it. So … yeah. ” A graceful end to a confession that probably put him at the top of the sacrifice list if they were turning to cannibalism any time soon.

after every thing that happened that day, there seemed to be lull in the air around camp. he and dash were okay for the most part, everyone was coming down from the shrooms, and apart from the fact that everyone seemed a little shaken up, they were okay. liam was sitting by the fire, while he wished he could just sleep the lingering high out of his system, every time he closed his eyes, he felt like everything was spinning. either from the trip or the fact that he passed out earlier. but it left him awake with the others, staring at the fire silently. 

looking up when he heard lukas speak up, he could already tell something was wrong before he even got the words out. while the he was sure that they others will be pissed, liam couldn’t help but feel lukas’ anguish over the fact that the axe was missing. maybe it was the empath in him, but he wasn’t even upset, shit happens. which is exactly what he tells lukas. “hey, dude, it’s okay, shit happened. we can go look for it in the morning or something. it’s not the end of the world.” well maybe it was considering they were stuck on an island. but it’s not like the thing could just grow legs and move. it was probably laying in the dirt somewhere between camp and where they were earlier. jj probably had the path memorized or some shit, they could just retrace their steps. “don’t beat yourself up,” he added on with a small smile.

Once they had gotten back to camp, Callum laid Liam down on the sand. Everyone else was busy tending to Dash, who got the worst of it, so he kept his attention on Liam. Pinky’s dramatics was enough to want to make him stay away anyway. He had shrugged off his hoodie and bunched it up, using it as a makeshift pillow for the other Adam. Then he just sat beside him, not capable of doing much else besides waiting.

To say Callum was nervous for Liam was an understatement. Even with the shrooms in his system, there was an unmistakable unease that pumped through him that was too familiar to be a drug-induced. He didn’t know how long he was sat there waiting for the boy to stir to consciousness. He was sure he nearly drifted to sleep a couple of times, but Liam finally waking up felt like someone shoved a triple shot expresso made with Red Bull straight down his throat. It sent Callum’s droopy eyes wide open and had him sitting up. 

“Hey, you’re awake,” he said, scooting closer to the other boy. “We got our shit wrecked by an angry pig. Hog. Boar. Whatever. The big one with the tusks.” He reached over to give Liam a little rub on the arm. “How’re you feeling?”

it took a second for liam’s brain to register that it was callum talking to him, he wasn’t sure if that was the shrooms or the fact that callum hasn’t been the friendliest in the past ten days towards liam or the others. but the way the other adam looked and how he moved close and rubbed liam’s arm, it almost concerned him that something worse happened. “mmm, is that why my leg is killing me more than usual?” he groaned, pulling himself up to sit in the sand. “my head is pounding but i think i’ll live.” liam looked around at the others, noticing a group a little ways away but he couldn’t see who they were around. “is everyone else okay?”

liam had no idea how long he was out or even what happened as to why he was asleep back at camp. the last thing he remembered was hearing something in the jungle and something charging out at the boys. there was a pain in his head and his legs to told him that he must have gotten hurt but he had no idea how he made it back. pushing himself up on his elbows, liam looked around camp for the other boys but as he did, his head spun a little. the shrooms must still be working their way through his system because it felt like the world was moving the wrong way and it wasn’t just because of the head injury. “hey,” his voice cracked a little when he finally spoke, calling out to a near by adam. “what happened out there?”

“ really ? you’d shag callum? ” well, now he knew liam had a thing for masochism. kian thought on his own choice for a moment. “ i think i’d shag blue, only ‘cos he seems most likely to reciprocate head. and then, like, marry callum for canadian citizenship when brexit goes south. which leaves sebastian for the kill, obviously. ” that was another thing that united the gays™, he decided: their unanimous dislike for mr. toxic masculinity on ice.

“ as for the others… ” he tipped his head back, considering. “ shag joe, marry jj, and kill devon – but in a quick, painless way. bloke’s just not my type. ” kian figured jj would go on to become some kind of tech lord who made billions of dollars yet still wore jeans in public, and joe was almost six feet tall. no further need to justify his decision on that one. “ what about you ? shag, marry, gently murder ? ”

he shrugged lightly, not expecting to have to defend his choices. “i mean, i feel like blue would be a good husband, he’s really kind. i’d rather spend my life with him than callum. who kinda scares me a little.” he wasn’t as bad as sebastian, but still, after seeing him go off on sawyer, he preferred to stay away from him as much as possible. sleeping with him once would be the best option. he nodded at kian’s reasons, not realizing reciprocating head was such a big deal. but then again, he has zero experience with any of that. “smart,” was all he commented on his reasons. 

“what, too much hair for you?” he teased the other boy considering he and devon had the longest hair on the island. one thing liam was pretty jealous of. “i’d probably shag devon,” he started. he’d probably be really sweet for liam’s first time, but he didn’t say that out loud. “marry joe because he seems nice. which leaves jj to kill i guess.”

“ then whose could it even be ? ” in other words, who here was using a bright fucking pink case for their luggage ? power to them for dismantling gender norms and all that, but kian couldn’t imagine who would be caught dead with one of these save for dash, and the lucky bastard’s bag had already washed up days ago. he knelt down next to liam, running his hands along the sides to find the zipper. god, please let there be some vodka in here or something. his heart raced as he unzipped the bag, doubly so when it snagged temporarily on something inside. kian threw back the cover, sat back on his haunches, and took in its contents –

“ …what. the. shit. ”

kian had a good point, none of the boys seemed like the type to have a bright pink suitcase considering half the guys were too scared that if they showed any emotion besides rage that they may come off as gay or something. liam looked into the suitcase once kian had it open and he had the same exact thought as the other boy when they came face to face with a bunch of girl’s clothes. “umm...” liam reached in and pulled out a crop top with daddy printed across it. “i don’t think this is any of the guys’ bags.” which begged the question: why the fuck did it was up on their beach. “maybe it was something left over on the plane? from like another flight?” he thought out loud, hoping kian had a better idea for what it was there.
