face claim: jack lowden. hair color: red / red-blond in certain lighting. eye color: green. height: 6′4″ ; 1.93 m. weight: 187 lbs ; 85 kgs. build: though liam appears to be fairly thin due to his height he’s, at this point in his life, more muscle than just about anything else. he’s quite strong and fairly sturdy altogether – comfortable in the way he carries himself. tattoos: he has a sleeve tattoo clearly inspired by norse mythology / the art associated with it covering his right arm ( reference ), a geometric bear tattoo on his left forearm ( reference ). piercings: he had both of his ears pierced as a teenager but has since taken the jewelry out and allowed the holes to close; on a dare from one of his uni friends– he does have his right nipple pierced. distinguishing characteristics: his height – it’s usually the first thing people comment on followed shortly thereafter by his tattoos if they can be seen; his general stoicism and how little he seems to smile in public situations.

— even after two children cailean and sorcha were still eager to build their family– a veritable brood of children who would grow up in a home full of love and laughter, with parents who would adore them and siblings who would never let them go through life without a friend to call on. liam– their second son and third child overall– would be as welcome an addition to the family as his older siblings were and as every one of his younger siblings eventually would be. there was no shortage of love in the ramsey household and from an incredibly young age liam understood that love was perhaps the greatest gift anyone in the world could receive. he was almost a cripplingly shy boy when he was very young but it took almost no prodding for his siblings to pull him into activities he hesitated to do and it was through them that he built the confidence that allowed him to come out of his shell in earnest when he was around nine years old.

— though he was never the belle of the ball or the most popular boy in his class liam was a kind, unfailingly friendly boy when he could get through his shyness and occasional stammer. the few friends he made in any given grade were good friends– solid friends who remained his friends even as they left their schooling far behind. he was soft-spoken and often appeared to be fairly serious though it took almost no effort from friends or even strangers to earn a soft, lopsided smile from the boy – a dimpled little thing that brightened his expression instantly and usually had the effect of allowing anyone who didn’t know him well to realize he really was just a shy person and not, as it seemed, an altogether unfriendly one.

— as he got older it became clear to liam that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a police officer, something his older brother had already expressed an interest in doing at various points in their respective lives. his father was thrilled and encouraged them both wholeheartedly to pursue anything they felt passionate about, no matter what it was. with his family’s support on various levels liam proceeded through his schooling with his eye set on becoming a police cadet; he was still social– still made friends and spent weekends with them when he had breaks in his studies– but everyone around him was aware that his fixation on his goal was absolute and they cheered him on at every turn.

— given how focused he was on his career path it took liam by surprise in every possible way when he fell in love– during a party one of his best friends was throwing he met kenzie and as far as liam could tell fell in love with her in an instant. he was besotted and in spite of his general shyness he asked her on a date and everything else seemed to fall into place in short order. when kenzie told him she was pregnant only a few weeks before he was set to finish his degree program and move on to working as an officer in earnest liam was absolutely thrilled. he proposed to her on the spot and for the next several months the happy couple prepared to welcome their child into the world as liam worked his way through the career he’d imagined since he was a boy.

— all of it came crashing down when kenzie went into labor during a horrid storm and when, during the course of trying to get to the hospital, the couple was involved in a car accident that would eventually lead to the deaths of both kenzie and their unborn child. liam was heartbroken– devastated– he took a leave of absence from the police force that lasted nearly a month before he returned to work almost a different man altogether. he smiled rarely, he focused almost solely on his work before he retreated home– isolating himself from nearly everyone he knew as he tried to process his grief. it took him months to pull himself out of the depression that the profound loss had caused him to slip into and when he felt even remotely like himself again he found it exceedingly difficult to connect with people again– terrified that they would be taken from him as kenzie had been.
