There are US Senators dying who have never died before
its really darkly funny that so many public figures keep dying "of cardiac complications after a brief illness" like wow y'all are Never ever going to say the word COVID huh.
Like it may very well be covid, but this specific cohort of guys are statistically speaking lifelong fans of uppers, and they are also extremely never ever going to say "cocaine-induced stroke."
They're also just... elderly? It's really not unusual for folks in their 70s and 80s to die of heart attacks.
Graham apparently has family history, I saw it reported that his dad died at 67 of a heart attack, and the poster was speculating Deep Vein Thrombosis could be the cause of his sudden death. Anyone on long plane flights is at risk, and Graham DID just fly to Ukraine and back on a short turnaround.
having had COVID, which we know Graham did, increases the likelihood of cardiac events and blood clots.
once again I need to stress how much I am not spouting conspiracy theories to say that 1. many people (including many public figures) dying of "cardiac events after a brief illness" in the last several years is almost certainly related to COVID, given that almost everyone has gotten it at least once now and many people have gotten it repeatedly, and we know now that damage is accumulated each time, and 2. those in power have a vested interest in denying COVID as a factor in these deaths.
We're six years into this.
it is not conspiracy-brained to state that the government is intentionally ignoring and suppressing the severity of this illness. that's just true. no, we don't have enough information to be entirely sure about a lot of things yet -- that's why it's so important to KEEP UP WITH THE EMERGING RESEARCH. you will not find out about it through legacy media, you have to follow the actual groups and people doing the research and seek the information out yourself.
It's easy for people in power to intentionally look away and cover their eyes about the severity of a emergent disease, particularly when the impact of that disease hits marginalized communities the hardest. it happens all the time. it is not conspiracy theorizing to point this pattern out.
Movement nudge, hand mobility! 🙌
X
1) do this even if you're under 40. seriously. I definitely should have been doing something like this for years and I only turned 40 a month and a half ago
2) if you're like me just now trying this going "oh god i've only done 15 and i think my hands are cramping" start lower than 30 and increase by 5 once whatever number you're doing no longer makes your hand cramp up. I can manage about 15 per exercise at the moment.
If you're hypermobile, be especially gentle.

I love asking people how their parents met. You always get an interesting reply. My best friend’s parents met on the relatively new internet in 1999. My other friend’s parents met at Burger King when one was the manager and the other was a regular customer. My parents met at the beach because they were neighbors in their rental houses, mom was on a church trip and dad was getting blackout drunk every night with his friends next door.
Tell me how your parents met in the tags.
Haven’t had a chance to watch the tutorial yet, but I’m seriously considering making this for my gf’s niece

Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere
So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)
From now on this is how all petty fandom disputes should be settled.
Both donation groups finished collecting donations on May 31st, and the charity has since reached out to the "freedom of expression" group's organizers to notify them that their donations will be specifically allocated to girls. The charity works with schools to allow impoverished students to go to high school (which isn't free in China), so they will be distributing 7500 RMB each for 128 girls to attend their 3 years of high school.
Also for anyone curious, the character is Luye from The Legend of Hei II. Official design vs. the fanart under the cut:

another redrawn page from this old sketchbook
There's an attitude I've been seeing more and more of where having any kind of artistic opinion that isn't praise is seen as some kind of faux pas designed to yuck people's yum or whatever, and while I understand the kneejerk response behind it I do have to wonder like. How sustainable do you think it is to foster an environment where even the most casual criticism is met with hoards of defensive with Whoa Mama Mia Cunt Let People Enjoy Things style comments
OK so yes feedback is necessary specifically in art but I have seen people just be full on mean or unnecessarily harsh. There's creative criticism and then there's just being a dick for the sake of it.
Okay. And I'm saying people are allowed to, when they want to, on their blogs, be a dick about things for the sake of it if they feel like doing it. I'm wildly skeptical of the idea that constructive critique is the only kind of feedback one is "allowed" to make in their own siloed corner of the internet, or that insistence on this will somehow create a healthier space for expressing opinions.
Once again. I can understand the kneejerk impulse here, I do. It sucks to imagine, say, a creator scrolling online coming across some needlessly vitriolic post about something they worked on. But anyone is allowed to go "That's dickish" and move on, or people can engage with "I think this is oversimplified blah blah" if they want to but at the end of the day it isn't some kind of crime against the hobby or a fandom or even a singular person if someone just shoots off "This sucked I wasted my night" in their own accounts.
Like. A lot of people are trending towards thinking I'm talking about the importance of constructive criticism and like, sure, I think that is probably a more interesting avenue of analyzing something's flaws, but once again if you're not like, addressing an artist or interested in doing a deep dive that doesn't mean you're Not Allowed to be flippant or quick to judge. It's kind of startling how many times I've seen someone be like, "I can't stand this album" on their blogs, untagged, had that shit shared, only for it to come across someone's feed and for them to respond with "Why? What's wrong with it? People are allowed to like it, why are you being so negative, why are you tearing people down for no reason, this isn't even real critique," as though the intention in the first place ever was or ought to have been substantive critique in the first place.
It's difficult to articulate my feelings on this, but I do increasingly feel that the insistence upon there being a correct form of disliking something that precludes the possibility of making anyone feel insecure or hurt because they like it is significantly more stultifying than an atmosphere where people can shoot off "Fuck this" and be blocked or ignored for it
My birthday is coming up soon, to celebrate should I:
Buy something I don’t need
Have dinner at a restaurant I like
Become a missing person for a week or two
Fill out job apps
Something else?
Need to get my phone fixed lmao my dad saw me doing my super unscientific fix the other day and judged me for it SEVERELY
My insta friend suggestions are scaring me currently. I have contact sync off and don’t follow anyone except my brother a cousin and some stepsiblings why is it trying to get me to follow a high school friend, a high school xc teammates mom, and my dad’s current girlfriend??
