Ā That was a lot to process. And Prompto was still not entirely sure whether he wasnāt dreaming, or had sustained a wound to his head. The stranger also didnāt seem the least bit fazed that Prompto was trying to convey aggression, but at least he was answering his questions.Ā
āThe void? You areā¦?ā Omnipresent, all seeing and whatnot? So basically a god? An Astral? But the Astrals hadnāt been seen for years. Only Lunafreya could talk to them.Ā
When he saw things in front of his eyes without warning, he covered them swiftly with a cry of surprise, the mop crashing to the floor as he let it go. What he saw was terrible. This couldnāt be true. And even ifā¦why would someone so powerful care? Who was Prompto to receive such attention from this strong being?
He blinked the sights away, dark blotches still obscuring his vision.Ā āBut, why? What would you want in return?ā Nothing in life was free, he knew that much. Especially when it came to things like these. He couldnāt help but to be suspicious of the outsider, as he called himself. Did he not have a proper name?Ā
Ā The outsiderās eyes narrowed as he watched the splice of time unfold, disappearing in a flash. A terrible tragedy for the great country and itās people.Ā ā The Void, is a place where all was once birthed from, and in due time, all will eventually return to it. This is also where I reside.Ā ā He explained simply, providing buffer for the blondeās processing. ā In return? Dear boy, there is nothing you can give me and nothing I want. What I want - is to watch time unfold, and to watch man as they twist and shift their destiny. ā He explained simply, moving forward slowly. ā Your Astrals only speak to an Oracle, but I am a different kind of God. I protect nothing, I fulfil everything.Ā ā He gestured to the floating debris of the void - decaying whales, ship parts and buildings from various time markers of the universe. All that once was but was no longer. Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā You want to remain with your beloved Prince, do you not? To protect him from such a wretched future - This chance is now yours, should you decide to take it. Should you do nothing.. you should know what is to come next.Ā ā The outsider stopped before him, offering him his hand to shake it.Ā ā What would it be, Prompto Argentum? Dare you come out of your shell to challenge the course of destiny? To do what it takes to keep Noctis alive?Ā āĀ Ā Ā Ā
dxdger:
Ā It happened slow like. Dodger was so used to working only for himself that he didnāt try in particular to gather anyone else to his side. Having himself to worry on was enough. But he found himself with more bread and coinān he was used to, pockets filled with moreān just dust, so he spread the wealth. Something he near always did anyhow, though he found himself able to do it more readily now with the Outsiderās blessing.
And kids gathered round him, didnāt they just. First learning from him by watching his ways, though they couldnāt do any of the handy tricks the Outsider had given him, and then learning more intentional like as Dodger introduced them to games what made their fingers cleverer, their movements quicker. Rather pleased with himself all told, though Dodger knew he didnāt near have himself to congratulate alone, but at least he wasnāt dead, and neither were these children.
Shouldāve expected that the Outsider would want another chat though. Dodgerās nerves was enough that he at least caught his balance when the rug whisked itself out from under his feet, but there was no accounting for the fall into nothing, only to be caught just as quickly like by the neck. For a flash, Dodger figured he was aāseeing his own death, long drop, short stop, and all, but then he saw the Outsiderās face.
Landing lightly on his feet, he scowled at the bloke, rubbing his neck, trying to shake the thought of a hanging from his head.Ā āWarning next time, huh?ā he snapped, before straightening, finally getting an eyeful of the surroundings.Ā āWhatā?ā
Ā Ā Ā It was amusing to see the wild panic in the older boyās eyes, he had grown out much more since the first time he had met him and it wasnāt long before heād talk to him with his gaze at eye level or more.Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā Where would the fun be in that?Ā ā The Outsider chuckled as he strides around the boy, giving him the moment to take in the void. Any and all that visited it was curious by itās visage, knowledge poured from each and every crevice so long as one knew where to look.Ā ā Ā Youāve certainly grown, little dodger - and youāve done very well with your gifts no less. From a crafty little urchin to a prince of thieves. Iām very pleased. Very, very pleased.Ā ā He began, flickering out of his sight as he pivoted to settle on higher ground.Ā ā Come, thereās something you ought to see.Ā ā He instructed before drifting away on his own, making sure that he was still visible for the boy as he neatly landed on the distorted wood ground. Before him was the statue of the town mayor, itās bronze covered in the Voidās dust.Ā ā In time to come, you will only continue to ascend. Thereās no doubt youāll have more followers, arenāt their numbers growing every day?ā He leaned against the statue, folding his arms Ā ā Hereās the catch, the hungry and homeless will not be the only one to notice your skill set. Someone in great ranks will offer you a grand opportunity in order to underhand his own enemies. Accept, and you may be a scape goat, decline, and you may be targeted as a wanted criminal.Ā āĀ

Ā The Royal Protector fought to stile a growl. āSpeak plainly, boy.ā
As time passed, and Corvo unlocked the secrets of the Void, the Outsider, and what made the both tick, he found that neither were easy to negotiate. For anything, any purpose. For one would speak volumes; the one who spoke would talk of times long past, elude to times that were yet to come; it would go on about points that made sense in a story that was not Corvoās; he would made the other forget his argument, his placement - his purpose, for he was lacking so in a conversational objective.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā And the other would say nothing at all
Corvo frowned and challenged the Outsiderās gaze. His riddles were conflicting and confusing, despite all of the bodyguardās wonderful abilities to read and understand other people. He was the one that would never be cracked by the courtās only Serkonan.
āTell me what you mean to say - I donāt bite. You know what Iāve what, what I havenāt done, and what I plan to do. At least, parts of it. And you know very well where this could be heading. If you have a warning, present it now before I make one of my own.ā
An amused chuckle crosses the Outsiderās lips, canting his head in appraisal of his words.Ā ā Strange words to hear from something so young, careful Corvo. Lest you sound foolish.ā His prose was a riddle thickly laden with clues, point markers where he was a cruel cartographer. The protector before him however, was no detective. Where he had once provided him a north star he was now inclined to take it away from him. Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā You may very well be on your way to losing another empress, and no matter what you may try to do, nothing will be able to prevent it.Ā ā He began, flickering away from him to stipple his fingers as he leaned against a distorted granite structure - a chair in his abode. ā Your rage will be your best weapon and your worst achillesā heel. In the time to come, we will see just which will triumph. Proceed with caution, your enemies will attack you where they see you weakest, on an important day no less.Ā ā

At first he thought the sudden absence of the sun might be a big cloud that was passing by and covered it. Weather forecast had said it would be sunny all day, so surely this was going to pass in a few moments.
When it didnāt, Prompto got curious and was about to walk over to the closest window, when the sudden voice made him yelp and flinch. Burglars!? But how did anyone got inside without Prompto noting? He had spent his time right in front of the front door after all. And all windows were closed.Ā
He rushed over to the mop and pulled it out of the bucket, then pointed the mop at the stranger with a glare on his face, that clearly showed that he was trying to convince himself that he was very strong and brave, yes.Ā āWho are you! What are you doing in my house! Andā¦what is going on with my house?ā The darkness outside was almost pushing inside, at least it felt this way. This couldnāt be a cloud.
And what was the man talking about? A journey? He hadnāt planned any journey. He watched the pale face, trying to figure out whether the had seen it before. No, this was the first time. And his eyesā¦they were pitch black. Prompto waved the mop around, dripping some soap onto the ground.Ā āOi! You could have knocked.ā
Ā Ā It was amusing to see such an animated response, the panic in the young manā eyes before he steels himself with bravery. A farce, the timid youth had fears that were very much ready to eat him alive in a matter of the time, and the road that was stretched out before him was soon going to be a testament to this.Ā Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā Prompto Argentum, I am the outsider, and this is the void. I am omnipresent, ancient, and all seeing. I have come to bare you, a very, very special gift.Ā ā His voice was inquisitive as he remained where he stood within the space. Ā ā In the time to come, you will set sale on a journey with your closest friends, your brothers - but a severe fate awaits you. Thereās a great deal for you to witness, and much of it will test every fibre of you. Iām eager to see as to wether youād survive. āĀ He began, shattering soundlessly before him to appear seated at the window. A portal, and before him he flashes a glimpse of the future to Promptoās eyes: The prince had fallen, those that protect him failed to sustain, and a dark force stands above them marred by an impenetrable darkness.Ā ā I can assure you that what you see is inevitable. What I have to offer is.. should I say, a chance to even out your odds. Should you find yourself weak, it will gift you strength, and so fourth. āĀ

āā¦Than teach.āĀ She finally replied, with much more fervor and her eyes followed his movementsā¦but always drew back to his face.Ā
Her shoulders tensed and she looked backwards, towards the where they have come fromā¦someone had stepped onto her territory, her homeĀ and wandered freely.Ā
āā¦ā¦I cannot stayā¦.hereā¦.as muchā¦.as it is intriguingā¦āĀ

Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā Go fourth, and should you call me, I will be present for you soon.ā He was chuckling as he pushes her gently, the portal of the void sending her back in through the window they had strayed from.Ā

The house was impeccable, but that wasnāt difficult when you were the only one living there. Still, Prompto took cleaning very seriously, and he made sure to vacuum at least once a weak. Then the tiles wanted to be cleaned too, and there were the windows of course. Whenever it rained, they were covered in those stains that drove Prompto crazy.
Currently he was mopping the floor in the entrance room, getting the wood all squaky clean. He almost stepped into the bucket full of soapy water, when his phone vibrated. He checked the message and then went back to cleaning, until he needed to take a break.
āPhew.ā He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and pretended heād have a guest coming over to feel like this might actually be worth it. He didnāt want to admit he just cleaned because he was easily disgusted when the house got dirty. Heād rather pretend he cleaned because he could show someone how good it looked. He had half a heart calling Noctis over, just because everything looked so perfect.
His throat was dry, so he left the mop in the bucket and went to the kitchen to get himself a glass of cool water. A small break for now, heād be finished with the cleaning soon.

Ā Ā Ā This plateau was quite alike dunwall, those who were connected to gods by birthright were the ones that had gifts in magic. His domain interlinks with the dormant etros deities by fate not choice, it was only rightful that a few arbiters were meant to be strewn upon his chessboard.
The outsider has seen the prince, a heir and beacon of immense prowess, a little more to his long list of well honed gifts would be interesting- his fated had already been shifted by others. It was his blonde, little friend, a meekly mouse cleaning his comfortable abode that than piqued his interest. In time to come as chaos unravelled itself in their time, it would change the way their war is waged very much.Ā He had never seen hair so golden or skin so unique - in dunwall the individuals were pallid and dark haired, an entirely different beauty of itās own as he pulls Promptoās home into the void. It distorts itself, bending with liquid space and time as the light from his windows were engulfed in a starless night.Ā Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā Pristine, you take good care of your home considering the fact that you have no guests, how fortunate for you that you have one now.Ā ā The Outsider leered, his arms folded behind his back as he walked down itās entry way.Ā āĀ A gun totting orphan who calls Lucis his home. You have a great journey ahead of you very soon, have you prepped well?Ā ā He queried, canting his head.
Itās easier for a ghost to whisper than to speak.

Character Posters: The Outsider
āIām a friend of your fatherās from the bad old days.ā
P A N I C
dxdger:
Dodger shook the blokeās hand before a searing on the back of his right hand near stole his breath away. Like burning, wasnāt it just, and he yanked his hand closed to his chest as he bit down on the inside of his mouth, refusing to cry out, even though he did gasp sharp like. Stomach performed some remarkable acrobatics as the burning stopped near soon as it started, and Dodger glared up at the man.Ā āCourse the bloke didnāt tell him it would hurt.
Running his thumb of his left hand over the mark, his brow furrowed as the blokeās words rippledĀ ācross his mind. Didnāt have much desire for infamy, did he, and luck and fortune sounded like a nice turn of things, but a corner of his mouth tweaked with a thought.
āYou aināt gonna tell me what this does?ā he asked, trying to keep the bloke from drifting away without explaining anything. Would be just like the Outsider to do that though, from what Dodgerād heard.Ā āOr you just gonna stick your mark on meān poof away?ā
The Outsider could barely help the pleasure that crossed his features in pure amusement of the boyās response to the pain. He barely knew that sensation anymore, but the response was nevertheless satisfactory. The grit that Dodger had in him to endure it in silence however, that was something he could commend. Ā Ā āĀ ā You should know what the mark promises, the words are true in their own way.ā He grinned. ā Good luck, Dodger.ā With a cant of his head, he bid his youngest arbiter goodbye, vanishing from the human plateau as silently as he had came into it. All that was left was to wait, but time was no unit that concerned the outsider. Cycles had passed just by hm turning his back to admire the whales that kept him company within his abyss. It was then did he grant the older boy his presence once more. He watched as he led young thieves and converted street urchins, his gift providing him greater and greater earnings. Just as he caught the boy by himself, he ceased his chance - pulling the tattered rug from under his feet as his forces dragged the boy into the maw of the void. The fall was considerable and he narrowly missed as his fingers hooked him by the collar of his shirt, parted lips pulling into a smile as he formed ground beneath his feet - allowing him to land there.
mimicseemimicdo:
āā¦.PurposelyĀ vagueā¦dangerousā¦.āĀ She whispered, listening to the echo of their voice into the illusion- it faded, and twisted into the true voice from the form beneath and made her shudderā¦
But despite her fascination, her mind was perceiving the hints- the flashes much more readily than a human, things that they would see as random vestiges of their dreams; for someone who was shut away from the worldā¦
These couldnāt be from herĀ dreams.Ā āā¦.Why would they want to worshipĀ me?⦠I am a monsterā¦an alien shade to themā¦a tale to scare childrenā¦ā
Than again, the plague that was rampant was doing a much more effective job.Ā
ā How holy,Ā ā The outsider chuckled as he continued guiding her forward, floating through the dark weightlessly, like it was very well water.Ā Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā Humanity has a tendency toward anything that exceeds themselves. They are either allergic, or they become addicted. Am I not a prime example?Ā ā His released her hands to hold his own up, palm facing the starless sky. ā Heed my teachings, little mimic. They are not here to persuade you, only for you to comprehend the probability of your actions.Ā āĀ
mechxnicxl-hexrt:
Ā Corvo narrowed his eyes and shifted his position. A roll of his shoulders, releasing tension in his neck and back; changing his posture to that which he was most recognized for. Nothing, he figured, could sway the Outsider, make the boy god think twice, but he found, over the years, that his stance was enough to make him hesitate. The cold was beginning to bite, but Corvo would not allow that to conflict his mindset. The Outsiderās inquiries were interesting enough, Ā but never seen eye to eye. They were ever demanded existentially, making the victim think morally, carefully -Ā
Ā Ā from the soul.
That, one may argue, speaks volumes on the black eyed bastardās heart. Could one say that he hasĀ
Ā Ā a heart?Ā
The Royal Protector stuffed his thumbs into his belt loops, something to substitute the insecure posture pockets would grant him. Serkonan hues met a pair that rivaled him in darkness, and he drew his lips into a thin line.Ā
āYou can speak straight with me, Outsider,ā Corvo said.Ā ābut to answer your questions, I played my cards well enough for this long, and I know when to fold them.ā
The outsider canted his head curiously, barely able to hide the ghost of a smug grin upon his features as he downcast his gaze. A feign of bashfulness as he gave a thoughtful hum. Ā Ā Ā āĀ ā Is that impatience, or nervousness I see in you, dear Corvo? ā Ā He queried as he hovered away, his hands behind his back as he drifted over to a large debris - misshapen and sprawling like a tree struck by lightning, blackened and distorted from heat.Ā ā In the time to come, the crown killer may be the least of your worries. The possibilities set out for you are like sides of a coin, except that you lose something no matter the facing side - you cherish one far more than the other, but the losses of both are equal despair. Tick tock, as time passes, the threat is drawing closer.Ā ā The keeper settled on the debris, folding his legs and stippling his fingers as he awaited the other to approach him. ā Could it be, dear Corvo - that as you desperately seek to protect your empress from harms way, that the deeds of the ruthless crown killer be your very own?āĀ

Muse as old as time
"I'm far too old for these games."
"What's it like to be immortal?"
"How old ARE you?"
"I'm afraid I don't understand the current slang."
"Do you know how to use a smart phone?"
"I am waaaaay older than you."
"Being this old has pros and cons."
"Do you have any idea what Netflix even is?"
"Did you meet Shakespeare?"
"I was alive when the pyramids of Egypt were built."
"Are you an angel or demon?"
"Humanity has jumped chasms in just the past thirty years. It took at least two hundred years to upgrade from wood to an iron plow."
"I'd rather ride a horse."
"You can't be THAT old!"
"That's simply impossible."
"I remember when stars filled the night sky and cities were practically nonexistent."
"Magic is real."
"Your problems are inconsequential."
"The universe spins, the earth moves and time passes ever on."
"What's it like, being as old as you are?"
"I'm just glad corsets have finally gone out of fashion."
"You can be upset about security measures all you want. I'm happy it doesn't take a month to travel across the Atlantic."
"Are you REALLY immortal?"
"I have seen all of time and space. You know what? It's the little stuff that counts."
"It's the here and now that's important to me."
"Doesn't it ever get boring?"
"I have loved many people over the many years. Each one is special to me."
"Every day brings new things."
"Do you ever want to end it?"
"I couldn't ask for anything more."
"Sometimes I just don't get mortals."
āIn these sleepless nights of despair, you appear to me not as the mighty leviathan, but as a young man, with eyes as black as the Void.ā
