“Levi. You are not studying any longer. Come on let’s go have some fun. ”

“Only if you can think of something really fun.”

“Too bad, you don’t get a choice.” Zakariah said with an odd smile. He sat on top of the table a took the book from the other, dog earring the page–he may have been raised evil, but he wasn’t completely heartless.

Levi rolled his eyes, watching but wasnt very amused. “It’s a book, ever read one before?” He asked the male, raising an eyebrow at him. 

Avery was going to give Levi the same answer he gave his mother every time she was concerned about her son’s life, “My plan is just to be happy in whatever I do. And I think that is a good plan to see through.” Avery was done talking his future. Those talks were only meant for his guidance counselor. “Hey, have you eaten yet? I’m starving.” He patted his stomach for emphasis.

Levi sighed and scratched his head. “Whatever, man. It’s your adventure.” He paused for a second, treading lightly. “Just know if you want help, just ask me, me. Okay?” He smirked and shook his head, packing his book into his backpack and stood up, swinging it onto his back. “Nah, not yet. What are you feeling? I could always go for pizza.”

Zach just chuckled. “People are weird,” he said as he shook his head. “How have you been?”

Levi nodded his head. “Good, can’t necessarily complain. Yourself?” 

“Let’s go get ice cream or go exploring like how we would we were little,” she smiled. 

Levi made a face and shook his head. “Nah, I think I’ll pass. This seems a little more productive.”

“Ivel?” Avery tried his hardest not to laugh. He managed to hide it by covering his mouth. “Oh yeah man, sounds- just rolls off the tongue.” The young fairy rolled his eyes as he leaned back in his seat. Levi was an old friend and he might mean well but Avery didn’t want this talk from him. “I tend not to worry too much about the future. Live life in the now. So doing the bare minimum is good enough. But don’t worry about me, I’ve got my life figured out.”

Levi smirked slightly, hoping to get a rise out of him. “Why not? Sure, adventure is great but when it comes to future, you gotta have that shit figured out man.” He said with a nod as he lit a cigarette. “Figured out, huh? Wanna tell me these big ol’ plans you got?”

Avery let out a laugh under breath not taking his threat seriously. “Alright, what should I call you then?” He never understood Levi’s devotion to excel in school. Avery on the other hand did the bare minimum when it came to school. “I don’t know actually.” Avery chuckled. “Come on classes haven’t started yet. You don’t have to open a book until way later.”

“Hmm..” Levi bit on his lip and thought hard on it. If you get to pick your own name, it has to be something good. “Maybe.. My name backwards. Ivel. That sounds pretty good.” He chuckled. “Avery, are you always going to live your life of “bare minimum”? Open up a book early so that you dont struggle through the year and can work on the next grade ahead while still in the year before.”

Finding out the second Pan was here, Avery wasted no time finding him. Taking a quick flight around campus found Levi face down in a book. “Always reading my mind, huh Levi?“ Avery smiled meaning no harm in his words. “So what are you reading there?” Avery pointed to the open book.

“Hey, if I’m ever not able to read your mind, don’t call me Levi anymore. That’s what makes me, me.” He pointed to Avery in threatening yet playful way. Levi then looked at the cover of his book and shrugged his shoulders. “Just some chemistry shit. Tryin’ to stay ahead of the game, ya know?”

“And knowing you, you’ve been at this for hours. So, come on take a break, Levi. Let’s go do something.” 

Levi looked at her thinking over his options. “Maybe. What good do you have to offer for us to do?”

Zach sat across from him without really saying anything until he processed the words that he’d just heard. “Why would someone ask you if you would be wearing contacts?” he finally asked, giving him a puzzled look.

“Well, buddy” He paused and looked at him, pointing to his eyes. “Many people say that my eyes are so blue, it is impossible to be natural.” Levi shrugged his shoulders. “They said it, not me.”

“I know you don’t wear contacts, I can clearly see you’re studying, I’m going to sit here anyway.” Felix said as she dropped her bag onto the ground. “And no, none of those answers answered any of my questions.” 

Levi sighed and rubbed his temple annoyed. “Great listener.” He closed his book and lit a cigarette. “So does that mean you had another question or you just like sitting down next to people who want to be alone?”

“No they actually didn’t,” she said sitting across from her brother. “I wanted to know why you’re studying? Classes have barely begun.” 

Levi looked at her and shook his head. “How are you ever going to excel if you only study when you’re “supposed to”? There’s too much to learn in nine months. Start early and learn more.” He looked down at his book again.
