My Year In Malta
I am not the best writer so I apologise in advance for any grammatical errors that I make, however simple they may be. I have been inspired to write a blog about my experiences.
I decided to take the big step of moving out of my childhood home, this was no ordinary step as it meant not only moving out but moving to another country entirely. Mid October, the 14th October 2014 to be exact I hitched a flight over to Malta where I would spend the next 12 months (maybe more) of my life.
Let me tell you about how I came to make this move; I turned 26 and thought to myself, βWhat have I done that I can be proud of in my life so far?β I could name one thingβ¦ The London 2 Brighton Ultra Marathon which was a 62 mile run for Macmillan Cancer Support Group, it took me 20 hours and 33 minutes, I came in 317th out of nearly 2000 participants. I am not yet sure that anything will ever make me feel as proud as that did. So that is my one really proud achievement that I have accomplished so far in my life. That led me to think that I want something new, something exciting, something I donβt know many people have done. I came to the conclusion that it will need to be big and life changing, I will move to Malta to work and play a little.
I made the decision that I wanted to go through with moving to Malta, I took steps to see if my currently employers would accommodate a move to our Maltese office, much to my delight, they granted the move. To say I was happy about this is an understatement as it meant I hadnβt wasted my previous four years working my way up in such a prestigious company. Within 45 days of making my request, I was on the plane to my new home, destination, MALTA. Β
