Robin handed over a few five dollar bills, the lady in the ticket booth passed her two wristbands in return. "All the vendors and rides close at ten. Have a blast!"

Robin and Nancy walked through the gate, stopping so Robin could fasten the wristband on Nancy who in return did Robin's for her. "This place looks exactly like the fun fair," Nancy said, spinning around to take everything in.

Robin agreed. Stepping inside of this place felt like taking a step back in time to Hawkins. "What do we first?" Robin asked.

Nancy took a second to think the question over. "I really want cotton candy but I know if I have it now I'm going to get a stomach ache and it'll be hard to do much else. So, that can wait. Maybe we can start with some games?" She offered.

"Sounds great!"

They weren't too sure of the layout of the fair so they set off walking. There were food trucks with flashing lights designed to draw people in. They seen every fair food you could think off, corn dogs, funnel cakes, chicken on a stick, fried mac and cheese, cotton candy and candied applies. "At least we'll know where to circle back to at the end," Nancy smiled warmly, looking at Robin before turning her sight back toward the crowd.

The area with the games was just past the food. It was double the size of the Fun Fair's game. There was a mote of rubber ducks that you picked one and if it had a star on the bottom you got a prize based on the color of the star. Then there was ring toss, basketball, ski ball, down a clown, go fish, darts with balloons, cornhole and more games Robin didn't get a look at before Nancy practically drug Robin to ring toss. "I'm the best at this one," she said confidently.

"I think you're probably better at the water gun clown game," Robin suggested,

Nancy rolled her eyes before handing the fair worker a dollar bill. He was a tall man wearing the standard striped shirt and hat one would see at most fairs. He had a basket full of rings. The sign said '10 rings for $1' "Let's make a bet," Nancy suggested, taking the ten purple rings the man gave her. Robin raised a brow letting Nancy know she was interested so she continued, "If I get all ten of these on bottles you owe me something."

"Owe you what?" Robin's tone was cautious, her brow still lifted. "No good deal ever starts with unclear terms."

"Just a favor or something," Nancy grinned.

The smile was Robin's undoing, She could have suggested something that would give Robin a felony charge and she would do it for that smile. And she had before. How many times had Nancy asked Robin to her join for a stint around Hawkins that had led to them in police custody? The answer was way more than once and she would do it again, a thousand times. "Fine, ten rings and I owe you a life debt or whatever."

Nancy had a look of determination on her face as she turned back to face the bottles. They were old green coca cola bottles and when Nancy threw the first ring, it did stick it's landing making a clink! noise reverberate. Nancy looked at Robin long enough to wink at her and that's when Robin realized that maybe Nancy was right about ring toss.

The following eight rings landed with ease. The ninth and final ring hit the glass neck, bouncing and spinning around it so fast it was impossible to tell if it was going to stay. But, it settled, staying on the neck firm. Nancy squealed, jumping with joy for a quick moment before telling the employee what prize she wanted. She had picked a rather large sized lizard. "Here you go," she said, handing it to Robin. "It looks like the one you were holding as a kid. I figured you'd want it."

Robin stared at Nancy, taking aback by the her thoughtfulness. Not because Nancy wasn't thoughtful at other times but because she had looked at that photo once and was able to recall the lizard. It was true, Robin did want it. That lizard had been her favorite stuffed animal as a kid but it got left behind at summer camp one year and by the time Robin and her mother made it home to call the camp, they had already tossed it. Robin had been gutted. But now, she had one nearly identical. She stepped closer to Nancy, hugging her tightly.

For a moment Nancy was still but then she wrapped her arms around Robin. "Thank you," Robin tried not to sound emotional.

"You're welcome. But, don't be to thankful. Now you owe me a favor."

Robin pulled out of the hug and laughed lightly, "Right. Well, Wheeler, what next?"

They ventured toward the rides which made Robin nervous if she was being truthful because this was a fair that packed up and moved around. As a kid she didn't blink an eye but now all she could think about was how stable these rides could really be. "Okay, look. We'll do something safe. Maybe the tea cups? We can skip the ferris wheel and hmm," Nancy paused, looking through the rides. "Oh! Bumper cars would be safe enough. Let's stick with those two then we'll eat."

There was a bit of a line for the tea cups so they joined the back of it, Nancy grinning. "I love the tea cups. Thank you for suggesting we come out here tonight."

"I'm glad we came. It gives Jonathan the space to film and even though I love those knuckle heads I also like when it's just us too. It reminds me of after graduation."

Nancy smiled knowing exactly what Robin was referring to. "I do miss it you know? Being able to see each other every day or whenever we wanted. We were all just a few miles down the street. It's true what people say taking stuff like teenage friendships for granted. Which, I'm not saying we took our friendships for granted. I mean we were together every single day nearly, so we definitely took advantage of the distance but it just feels so," Nancy paused, stepping forward when the line moved. "Like I would give anything to be able to drive five minutes and see any of you."

Robin nodded, there was something she hadn't told Nancy yet and it was that she would be finishing her degree in two semesters. She had doubled her work load to finish early. When she did she was planning on moving to Boston. There was a small school Robin had found doing some research. Robin was hoping on taking a job there as a music teacher. She had found her time being section lead in marching band had taught her how to be a great mediator and handle problems. The fact had only been reiterated when she had become somewhat of a counselor to Dustin, Lucas and Mike when they fought as freshmen and again to Will when he had come out. She felt like it was her calling to be a teacher in some way. Even though she had these plans and was sure more than anything this time next year she'd be living in Boston it was hard to speak them out loud. She was afraid doing so may jinx her.

"At least we aren't too far apart, we can take turns visiting each other more often," Robin settled on this, deciding it was safer than confessing her plan to move. There was a few reasons she had picked Boston to settle down in but she would be lying if she said Nancy Wheeler wasn't at the top of that list.

"Yes! And we will! The good thing is I can write from anywhere so sometimes I can take a long weekend umder the guise of working from home." Nancy grinned big.

"Next!" The woman running the teacups booth called out. She was Robin's height and had long curly red hair. Her lipstick was dark and she was wearing a guitar pick around her neck on a silver chain. Her name tag read 'Phaedra'. She popped her bubble gum and grinned, "You'll be in the next group."

"Perfect," Nancy offered a smile in return. "Do you get motion sickness?" the question was directed at Robin.

She shook her head, "Nah, stomach of steel." She patted her stomach for dramatic effect.

They were let onto the ride and took seats next to each other, putting their hands on the wheel. Phaedre came and checked all the lap bars before going back and starting the ride. "Oh, musical tea cups!" Nancy sounded excited when the ride started and Erotic City by Prince started playing.

When the ride started they were spinning in circles and turning their wheel. Robin and Nancy both were giggling uncontrollably. Maybe it was the way Nancy's hair bounced around, catching the last rays of the sun just as it was setting; it could have been Prince and the whole 'All of my hangups are gone, How I Wish You Felt the Same. It could have been how Nancy's hand brushed Robin's and time to seemed to pause when they looked at each other but Robin grabbed Nancy's face mid spin and kissed her.

Nancy seemed to melt against Robin and Robin sighed against Nancy's lips. Both of them had let go of the wheel and neither of them were holding onto the lap bar. When the tea cup spun again Nancy tumbled into Robin, the two of them falling over in the plastic seat. They were laughing as they raised up, grabbing the bar for support. The ride came to a halt and the two of them sat there, staring at each other, Nancy's eyes seemed to sparkle. She had two fingers held up to her lips as if she could feel where Robin's lips had been. "I can't believe you kissed me."

Robin scratched the back of her neck, she felt nervous but for different reasons now. Nancy hadn't tried to pull away, she had leaned into it which meant what she had overheard Nancy telling Steve earlier obviously meant that Nancy was into Robin. But where the hell did they go from here?

They reluctantly pulled themselves from the ride. Their arms intertwined as they walked away, not really going anywhere in particular. Robin could feel that her cheeks were red but she didn't really mind. Bumper cars was technically supposed to be next but Nancy said, "I think we should go somewhere else."

"There's a drive in not to far?" Once Robin had suggested it she thought of her and Nancy laying on the top of the car together looking at the big movie screen.

"That's a great idea!"

They stopped on the way and purchased a blanket to lay on top of the car agreeing the newly won lizard would make a good pillow. The drive in was a lot bigger than the one in Hawkins so they had debated on the best place to park the car. In the end they had decided to park it on the back row for the most privacy and if they decided to talk they wouldn't be disturbing anyone. The only downside to parking in the back was how long of a walk it was to the concession stand. They got a large popcorn and two drinks and on the way back to the car Robin realized she was feeling nervous again.

It was hard to say what she was exactly nervous about. She and Nancy had kissed but she wasn't scared at the thought of them being together. She knew Nancy the way she knew all of her favorite songs; every note, lyric and melody. She knew that her and Nancy made sense and that everything they both were would be so much stronger together. She had always knew that, though. Nancy was her twin flame she had thought it was only platonic at first because what she didn't know about Nancy was the fact that she wasn't straight.

"So, have you heard about the Batman soundtrack yet?" Nancy asked.

Robin held the popcorn while Nancy climbed on top of the first then passed it up along with the drinks so she could join her. Batman was the movie they happened to be seeing tonight and Robin would be lying if she said she knew anything about it all. Films were her thing but she hadn't been in a record or video store anytime lately to hear any kind of buzz on the film. "I've yet to hear anything about it. Well, that's a lie. I heard that Vicky Vale is like, mindbogglingly stunning."

Nancy laughed, "That's just cause Kim Basinger is gorgeous. I mean, have you seen her?"

Robin popped a handful of popcorn in her mouth, nodding quickly. "Insanely hot."

"I miss our movie nights," Nancy admitted.

Hawkins held a lot of hard memories for Robin but the time she spent with her friends when they weren't fighting monsters were the best parts of her life so far. The memories didn't make her sad; she was grateful she had them to look back on. It felt good being able to remember something positive. "I do too! Ugh, Princess Bride was the only good thing we had that year."

"Until we killed him. That was the same year, don't forget," she whispered.

"I don't know, I would argue that Westley and Inigo Montoya were much easier on the eyes than Henry. Even dead."

Nancy swatted at Robin's arm playfully then sighed dreamily. "Inigo Montoya, what. A. Man."

"Don't I know it," Robin huffed.

The two of them fell silent as the movie trailers started. Robin wasn't looking at the screen so she wasn't sure what exactly was being advertised. Nancy was gazing at the large white billboard that they projected the movies on. Robin was watching her and she could tell she was only looking, not really seeing or paying much attention. They sat like that for a moment before Nancy's face cracked into a grin, "What are you looking at, Buckley?" Nancy's tone was playful. She looked up at Robin through her lashes.

She was the most beautiful woman Robin had ever seen and it took her breath away if she were being honest. Robin let her head dip closers to Nancy. "I was just thinking how very badly I want to kiss you again."

Nancy sucked in a breath, "I think you should."

Robin pressed her lips into Nancy's. She sat the popcorn somewhere above them and leaned over, placing one arm on the other side of Nancy. Nancy leaned back against the car and Robin followed her down, their lips never parting. Robin let a hand dip beneath Nancy's shirt, barely brushing her fingers against Nancy's stomach. Her skin was soft and warm. She smelled like vanilla and clove and it was driving Robin mad. Robin pulled away long enough to catch her breath and kiss Nancy's jaw before kissing her again. Nancy's fingers were wrapped in Robin's hair now and god, Robin felt like she was going insane. There was no way she could get close enough to this woman. Kissing wasn't enough she- the thought was interrupted by a knock on the window.

The two jumped apart and Robin leaned over the top of the car to look at who was knocking on the glass. A lady in an navy polo shirt looked up at her, standing on her toes to see Nancy beside her. "We are a family friendly movie theater. If you two don't want to watch the movie I suggest you finding a new spot to park your car." She whispered sternly.

"Sorry!" Robin whispered back, waving nervously at the woman as she walked away.

As soon soon as she was out of ear shot Robin and Nancy broke out into a fit of laughter. "Jesus, Robs! We can't be doing this in public. I think there's some sort of law against it."

Robin rolled her eyes, "Oh Wheeler, we all know you've broken at least a hundred laws in your lifetime, probably at one time too. Drop the act."

Nancy smiled, leaning over to grab the popcorn but pecking Robin on the lips quickly. "Maybe after this movie you can take me home, give me the house tour."

"Of Uncle Don's?"

"He sure does have a big bed," Nancy's grin was mischievous and it made Robin turn pink.
