Instead the only people who dare to say the words (i.e. Armand, whom he mocks because of that) are merely thousands, bodies, food. Lestat whose worst fear is loneliness, who struggles to open up to his friend Dan who conveniently has just realised what vampire loneliness is. Lestat, whose mother wanted to claim back her language and sexuality, but…Lestat doesn’t count, right? He killed those wolves so he’s man enough to be different from the boys in their family she wanted to leave behind, right? She likes Baudelaire anyway, right? She wants to hear him play, right? Why isn’t she replying?
