"On the day the last human died...the Age of the Sleekstak began."
Sleestak by Arthur Adams (2023).
I stumbled on to the 3 seasons of Land of the Lost (currently on YouTube for free) and I started watching an episode. When I was a kid this was a show I loved. There’s a lot of GenX love for the Saturday morning shows of the 70s, but the truth is a lot of those shows were pretty terrible. Land of the Lost was a cut above. There’s actually some interesting writing in various episodes (the Zarn is Star Trek level of impressive) and of course the stop motion animation/puppet work was impressive. It’s one of the few shows that immediately gives me those reverberations of being a little kid. A detail I noticed was how throughout the episode there is this consistent sound of dinosaurs and environment in the background. Sonically very alive. The music is this weird/effective mix of banjo and synth. Quite memorable.
