The uneasy atmosphere inside the center isn’t one to be caught right away when a person enters. The pair of boys, one consoling the other, are easy to miss in their corner where they can’t be seem from the center’s entrance, and the building’s nurse is all professional, now a pleasant face to eventually welcome Red to, whether at her counter or afar.
She’s been in this situation before, to know that the best thing you can smile, and not add to the little misery off to the side.

When faced with an old friend, Red had naturally assumed that he’d be welcomed warmly. He knew that the other young man had a certain level of gruffness to him but they’d always gotten along quite well. That was what made the ferocious look so surprising to him. Almost immediately, he stepped back and gave the the boy a quizzical look. It seemed as if something had happened. Although what could inspire such a look in someone?
After several seconds ticked by, it seemed that Fire had realized that Red wasn’t a threat to him and his face relaxed somewhat. As he was acknowledged, Red gave a slight wave in reply. Although his own face had gone back to a steady smile, the confused expression never left his eyes. More than anything, he was curious of what had been going on.
