Finale
The piece is shaded and lit up and it's done, Looks pretty good I think :D
Overall I think it went decently and managed to get a good piece out. My layer management went slightly downhill at the end with a couple loose layers outside of folders but it was mostly under wraps.
I also think my brush usage ended up being quite cool, the piece has ended up having a bit of a texture. The water effects were also pretty good, first time ever doing thst and even though I had references, it was mostly just a guide as i freestyled mine - different shapes and all.
Overall on the course though I probably should have organised myself and my work better with time management and how much time I spent on some things.
Backgroundwork
Backgounds gotten a spoosh of colour, very niceee. I went for pretty muted cool colours - the bluey sort to not attract attention away from the focus point
Also that arrow is a ref point for where lights gonna be coming from
Character Illustration - 2
The drawing of Lily is going well, started using colours.
And using a couple references I've gottem the water down, I think it looks good, hope the physics of how its moving makes sense, also title.
Made it so that the water like swirls around her feet and up like a water snake
Final Illustration workings - 1
Worked out perspective and posing via the posing web app toby sent - tbh feels sorta like cheating - and started up on sketching, i think i found a brush i want to use too - some sort of dry ink brush on clipstudio(one of their default ones)
My layers are mostly/sort of also organised, nice!
Toby also gave some advice on making the hands a smidge bigger and to center Lily & co more to the middle, and it does look alot better, also values are being covered

Updated 100 words
Goals/Stuff to work on I want to work with lighting and shading a bit, and how that'll look on a figure. and working with colours to make the subject eye-catching, yet not an eyesore. Also brush/line work and such could be cool, give some personality to the works.
Character Feedback
We did a round of feedback going around in pairs or trios, and writing on sticky notes. This is what i got,
I think I'm gonna go for either the fight scene or rooftop scene, and get the poses/forms more defined for the final piece
Also need to put the brain more onto the enviroment perspective, see if i can use methods i learned in DVC properly >_<
Rendering practice
This just throws me right back to DVC at highschool jesus christ, but haha i did it
Page Setups
Photoshop workspace settings
My setup has gradually changed over this course as I'm introduced to more and more things (thanks Toby!)
Character Concepts pt2 - Lily Dale
Some actual design concepts, starting with the silouette to try make it unique/recognise-able, and then into values
Colour variations - I went for the more bubbly/circular design, as it makes the character more approachable/seen positively and it suits the water/liquid themes of the character.

Character Concepts - Lily Dale
(Name I sorta just chucked together based off of the flowers lily of the valley, cause they have 8 petals and their individual silhouette is like a dumbo octopus - shes hopefully gonna have alot of dumbo octopus symbols and references idk)
These are to help with visualising what kind of character she is :D
Character Concepts
We've started on making our final designs for this course, as we have started doing concepts of different aspects of our character and what we want them to be.
Dance Form Study
I decided for the first 6 to go for a couple of Miku's performances at her Magical Mirai live concerts as her choreo has quite a few focal points, also these concerts set lists just live in my brain rent free.
Top half are from I'll Miku MIku You, lower half are from Hatsune Creation Myth
Josh design round 2/Developing the design further
We made some feedback for the illustrations we recieved and got some feedback as well for our designs. We used this advice to make changes to our designs.
For my iteration of Josh, I thought a change of pose was in order, with the staff change (them wanting it to be longer/taller,) i did so while still trying to keep the lightning bolt shape - Josh was jolted to life by wizard.
Further Shape Examples
Happy/funny
Strong, determined
I have just realised how geometric tophs outfit actually is, also ruby just reminds me of a box
Assertive, Bad guy

Visual Language
Shape
A character silhouette can make a character instantly recognisable for the viewer, and can enhance a characters individuality and seperate it from the rest of a line of figures.
Usually in character design, more round shapes are used for good figures and sharper shapes are used on nefarious/evil characters, and these shapes can also affect how the viewer sees the character personality-wise.
Colour
Colour and the use of specific colour palettes can further differentiate from other characters, and create completely new characters depending on the style (make related characters and such.) Colours can also give away your characters personality/temperament too and how they are going to act.
Group project - Josh
I was put into a group with Tom and Daisy, and me and Tom were quite quick, we managed to finish in one day.
We communicated a lot about the design in person and and how it'd look and I went more in depth about the details I was adding to line up with the style I was assigned.
