The Pages of the Books include the Combat Pages (and Key Page) of the people who were turned into Books, as well as their story. As well, with sufficient willpower and an amount of Books, one can summon or create objects using them. - Voice of Logistics

The Books are effectively Purified, but you can go ahead and thoroughly Purify them if you do not want the abilities found in their Pages.

You will suddenly find the Invitation on your person, or nearby, when it is sent to you. A word of advice, when entering the Library, you will be greeted by it's robotic Guardian, and then sent to a Floor (if you do not simply Purify the Guardian). Purify the Librarians on the floor, and if you are sent to another, repeat until you have defeated all the floors you will be sent to. A recommendation is to purify the Librarians swiftly, as they get much more powerful over time. As well, Purifying within the Library will be different (but similar) to elsewhere. Your Bashes and Competences will be made into Cards, which you must play to set your targets. As well, instead of simply striking back and forth, the flow of battle will be Clashing, wherein two attacks that would target each other will go head-to-head, part by part, to see which one goes through. In the meantime, continue Purifications as normal, and perhaps reclaim the Crafting Station should you locate the Hotels. - Voice of Logistics
