I Was Meant to Keep You Warm

Sometimes, when I lie awake at night, I wonder whether I’ve lived at all. Is it the same for everybody? Do some people have a greater talent for living than others or do some people never live, but just exist?

Last night, I had the most incredible dream: I was in love. And it was so, so, so simple. Nothing like what art in general have told us. I don’t remember the face of the person I loved in my dream. But I remember what I felt, at least a glimpse of it got stuck in my heart, in the tip of my fingertips. The softness of skin, the warmth of a laugh, the feeling that everything was okay, the realization that I didn’t need to overanalyze anything. It was enough. I was enough. Is that really how it feels to be in love? Sometimes, movies have told me it feels like drowning in the most beautiful ocean. Sometimes, literature have told me it feels like soaring into the sky. In my dream, it felt like breathing.
