both bobby and eddie do what they can   on   the   first   floor   before   handing   off   the   responsibility   to   a   secondary   team.   captain   nash   leads   them   to   a   mirrored   stairway   where   they   can   help   hughes   and   buck   fight   the   fire   on   the   second   floor.   “we’re   directly   across   from   you,”   bobby   calls   into   the   radio.   “hopefully   we   can   knock   this   down   before   the   building   gives   way.   you   so   much   as   think   the   floor   or   walls   are   giving,   retreat,”   he   orders.

“i have some crushed peanuts in a bowl   so   that   people   can   top   their   food   if   they   like.   but   no   peanuts   have   been   added   to   the   meal   otherwise,”   bobby   answers   before   setting   the  pans   of   food   in   the   center   of   each   table.   he   believes   in   family   style   of   serving.   taking   a   step   back,   the   captain   admires   his   work.   once   he   had   his   fill,   bobby   rings   a   makeshift   dinner   bell.   “soups   on   !”   he   calls   over   the   railing.   come   and   get   it.”

        bobby offers a quiet snort of amusement.   head   shakes   in   fond   exasperation   but   he   smiles,   regardless.   “figured   i’d   keep   it   simple   today.   sandwiches   and   blt’s.   thought   that   should   LIFT   everyone’s   mood.”   not   to   mention,   a   sandwich   or   blt   always   makes   bobby   think   of   a   pick   nick   or   a   trip   to   the   beach.   “so,   hope   you’re   hungry.”

      “hope you’re not missing too many   festivities   back   home.”   the   fire   captain   muses   as   he   helps   his   team   pack   up   the   expelled   gear   that   seems   to   have   exploded   from   the   truck.   the   ground   is   soaked   in   water   and   charred   bits   of   rubble.   but   fire   house   118   had   done   their   job   well   when   fighting   this   fire.   bobby   can   only   assume   that   it’s   a   sign   of   things   to   come.   @fyrefights​  |  sc

       patriotic colors and party favors   line   the   walls   of   firehouse   118.   bobby   smiles   to   himself   as  he   sip   from   his   coffee  mug.   nothing   like   the   4th   of   july.   especially   when   one   has   to   WORK   the   holiday.   climbing   up   the   stairs,   bobby   arranges   a   light   brunch   of   finger   food   and   festive   treats   for   everyone   to   enjoy.   hopefully   they’ll   be   LUCKY ENOUGH   to   enjoy   some   fireworks   tonight.   @astcriism​  |  sc

        “come on, athena,”   bobby   coos   in   a   fond   way,   taking   the   plate   from   her  hand.   “this   is   my   treat,   remember?   that   means   YOU   don’t   have   to   do   anything.”   lips   tug   into   a   smile   as   bobby   goes   back   to   the   kitchen.   “besides,   we’re   almost   ready.”   @sxperflxity​  |  sc
