on your tongue. your love is language. it's the way you say goodbye, good morning, how was your day? love for you is less something to talk about and more something that weaves itself into your speech without permission ( and, of course, with it ). love comes out of you everyday in the easiest way to understand; what's the point of feeling it if you don't say it? sing it? scream it? it bubbles up and spills over anyway.

001. sakura ╱ sasuke.

ino’s adolescent crush on sasuke stemmed no further than that: adolescence. in truth, the sole reason she maintained the facade was to get under sakura’s skin. such petty behavior drew from the overwhelming sense of betrayal that ino felt when sakura titled her as a ‘rival’ in spite of the kindness ino had shown her for years prior. she eventually admits this when the two reconnect as close friends immediately following the great war.

    there are times when, especially if she’s feeling under the weather, ino’s abilities with sensing and telepathy overlap and go haywire. this causes an unwanted, stressful situation where anyone around ino could have their memories and thoughts probed from merely being near her. and it doesn’t just stop there: sometimes she gets bombarded with multiple readings simultaneously.

    unlike the boruto era’s depiction of ino yamanaka, my portrayal of her keeps the representation of ino during the blank period / the last era.

    with the death of her father during the great shinobi war, the traditional yamanaka styled ponytail she had worn since her early teens had since been retired in his honor and memory. both ino and inoichi would brush and tie up one another’s hair after their morning routines, from childhood in the academy to adulthood missions, and she can’t bring herself to do it without him anymore.

with the death of her father, inoichi yamanaka, the closest thing to living, immediate family that ino has are shikamaru nara, choji akimichi and their respective families / clans. unlike their counterparts, the yamanaka clan’s members are few and far between, and even then - most tend to favor botany over the shinobi lifestyle and therefor take on traveling.

it is because of this that ino, despite her obvious bossy-bratty nature, significantly softens her otherwise attitude-heavy interactions with the teammates she dubs her ‘boys.’ she tries her utmost to keep in touch despite their busy lives, be it mailing recipes and goods to choji or assisting with shikamaru’s hefty paperwork load on her own time. due to this, ino has switched to a different type of overbearing behavior when it comes to her beloved friends--
