I adore your graphics so much! can I ask how you achieve that amazing sort of grainy halftone effect?
Thank you so, so much! It really means a lot to me that you like what I make, and Iâm really happy to try to answer your question!
I use Photoshop, but I'm far from being an expert. I mostly learn by watching lots of tutorials and trying things out myself!
I'll try to explain it as clearly as I can. Basically, to create this kind of halftone effect:
I use several layers (sorry, my software is in French!).
First, the image needs to be converted to black and white. Then, the top layer is used to change the colors, I believe it's called a Gradient Map in English.
The most important layer is the Pattern layer, which creates the dotted halftone effect.
This layer needs to be set to Hard Mix blending mode.
All the other layers and effects are there to make the image more or less detailed, and to adjust how much of the white and black parts show up in the halftone effect.
After that, I usually add a few extra layers, such as paper textures, shadows, and other details, to give it a more organic, printed look.
I found the pattern and textures here, and I think there's a video that explains it even better than I do!
Again thank you so much! I am so glad people like what I do!
If you have more questions don't hesitate! I LOVE THEM
