seth tenebris:
Brows arching up into his hairline, Seth leaned forward in interest, angling himself downward to get a better look at her face. She was a pretty thing, hair like it was kissed by fire cascading down her back. He wondered what it felt like, idly, what it would look like between his fingers. There was something vaguely familiar about her, as well, like heâd recognized her.
A sardonic bite of laughter erupted and it was in almost good cheer. He unfurled from his position in the alcove, alighting to his feet and standing in front of her. âWell, my apologies then, for speaking off-key. That does not really help the situation any, does it? At least Iâve your lovely company to keep me occupied. Lovely lady, what is your name? I recognize your face, but that has alluded me.â
Thing couldâve definitely been worse.
For instance, she couldâve been confined in Flamewood, like sheâd originally intended, but then she wouldnât have seen her Mordu based cousins. She couldâve been having a dull conversation with one of the dull lords from other kingdoms (she didnât doubt that there were many of those), or she just couldâve suffered through lord Rhaguâs shadowed smiled which undoubtedly hid something violent beneath.
Yes, as far as those things went, it really couldâve been much, much worse.
âI donât think anything could much help this situation, my lord.â Vivian retorted with a snort which, while seemingly amused, lacked all amusement. Call her cynical, but there were no more merry sentiments left in her body, nor was there any chance of being surprised, not after whatâs happened back home.
âLady Lyn. Vivian.â She inclined her head as she introduced herself, âBut, I donât think weâve ever been properly introduced, so I shall not hold it against you.â
