The writing of Agatha All Along did a great job of exploring how similar Billy is to his mother - in loyalty, temper, determination, devotion to their respective twin brothers, and sheer power, down to a shared ability to accidentally create physical pocket dimensions. But we also see how different they are.
I'm hoping - and it seems likely this will be the case - that VisionQuest will explore the ways in which Tommy is similar to and different from his father. And there are actually so many similarities beyond the surface. Neither of them are truly human in a normal way; Vision is an android and Tommy is a product of Chaos Magic. Both have awoken in unfamiliar bodies that have been broken and repaired - Vision's reconstructed form and the drowned teenage corpse that Tommy is possessing. And both possess hints of human feeling and soulfulness that defy their unnatural origins. While this is a well-established part of Vision's character, Tommy is shown quite a few times in WandaVision to be the more emotionally mature and observant of the twins. He always notices whenever Billy becomes tense and checks on Billy's wellbeing, and while Billy is merely confused at Wanda's behavior in the mockumentary episode, Tommy sees through her "I'm fine" facade and asks Agatha if his mom is okay.
This is a golden opportunity for some amazing character and relationship work for Vision and Tommy as they grow into these (literal) new lives, both as individuals and as a one-on-one dynamic outside of Wanda's shadow.
And I am giving up on the MCU permanently if they screw this up.
