also insurance kicked in and the eye doctor did not SAY "bitch you live like this?" but it was heavily implied. even going Zenni route I'm still out like 120$ for the retinal exam (my eyes are fine as it turned out they just uh don't work) and fucking bifocals but I wish to be able to read without holding a book at arms length so here we are
I should add I have a tom bihn knitters tote (it's too easy to overload so I try not to carry it) and some of their random fabric ditto bags and let me tell you after the dust clears from the nuclear war it's gonna be cockroaches and tom bihn bags
By the way when I say I don't carry my tom bihn tote too much because it's too easy to overload, I mean "this is my Swift and it has my kanken mini, my steam deck, and a packed lunch in it" (bringing it to work to hold my afghan project)
They're made in seattle and priced to match but truly you have to pick one you REALLY LIKE because like my swift was given to me in 2022 and looks new except for some ink stains. (The Swift comes with a matching yarn sack -- I'm thinking about getting a Mini Swift this time.)
The other month I ordered some key straps and one of them had their clip snap and they sent a replacement the next day. They were out of the purple key strap I wanted and emailed me at ten am and then half an hour after I replied, confirming the switch.
If you are in the market to trade a kidney for a bag I think they'll give you some of the best value for that kidney out there. (Their backpacks are in the 200-300$ range, their totes from 65 to 200.) their pouches are in the 20$ range but they have a line of mystery pouches and stuff bags that are made out of remnants from their other bags. (I ordered one of the mystery bags and they sent the wrong size so now I have two mystery bags - they're fabulous as project bags.)
