my new coworker friend found out the position she was hired for is an “unpaid internship” and they just told her today, after a whole work week of training her, three days before we start the school year. stress and anxiety and frustration compounding and i didn’t even know what to tell her to do except to quit. so i got out my mandolin (she already plays guitar and bass and banjo) and showed her how to play atlantic city. it was so fun. someone from advancement came in to see if they could market what we were doing but luckily the lyrics to atlantic city are super dark so she reconsidered. i didn’t get much work done but i don’t care.
