The Entities. (Osomatsu-san AU: God's helpers)
I probably won't do anything with this, but I thought of this cool new AU. Basically, I decided based on their color what aspects of life they would control.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
God created the Earth. To help him manage it, he created six entities that would control varies aspects of life. To do this, they would live on Earth so they could interact and see what effect they had, and could change anything that needed it. He also gave them free will so they could decide the best course of action. The goal was to create a utopia for life, but then....
Osomatsu: Because he's red, he rules over humans and animals, due to their blood being red. Ideally he could control them and make sure the humans stayed on the path of good. He could also create new life.
At first he had done his job as seriously as the others, but it wasn't that long before he grew bored. To him, controlling life was like playing with dolls. They could move on their own, but since his job was to make sure everything lived in harmony and peace, he often had to use his powers to do so. He also hated how much work it took. He'd rather just laze around than micromanage everything.
To get out of work, he secretly gave free will to Adam and Eve. He figured, "hey, we have free will, and we're doing great, so why not the humans and animals?"
Doing so led to Eve breaking God's rule about not eating the apple, leading to Him kicking them out of the Garden of Eden, and the rest of the events of the bible. Osomatsu and his brothers were also kicked out of the Garden as punishment, though they were still allowed their powers and immortality.
Osomatsu doesn't really mind and actually enjoys living among the humans. Especially when they created beer and gambling. He likes to pose as a human and just live life like them.
Due to his actions of giving humans free will, this made the jobs of his brothers harder, as the humans were starting to mess with nature. At first Osomatsu didn't care and thought they were overreacting, but over the centuries he saw the effects it was having on some of them (like Karamatsu and Choromatsu), and he started to regret his choice.
The problem though is due to giving creatures free will, Osomatsu can no longer control them or create new life. He also cannot take back free will. He's the most powerless out of all of them, being on the same level as humans. He feels bad, but he's still selfish and would rather ignore problems instead of admit to them, so instead of trying to convince humans to be better, he jokes with his brothers and tries to get them to be involved in human lives. This is his attempt at helping them ignore their problems and relax, but most of them think he's just being selfish and childish.
Karamatsu: Because he's blue, he controls the sky and water. Oddly enough he doesn't control the tides. He can feel another entity doing it, but he doesn't know who it is. He just knows it's not any of his brothers.
Even though he controls the ocean and sea, he doesn't control the animals inside of it, as that's Osomatsu's domain (even though he no longer controls them). He also can't create any of the plant life, as that falls under Todomatsu's domain. He controls the water and can create new water though.
For the sky he controls the colors, the clouds, and the stars. He doesn't actually make new stars or controls anything in space, but he controls when they show up and can move them to make the constellations. When he was younger, he made the ones we know, such as the Big Dipper and Little Dipper. In the current era, he's in his cringe phrase, so he's making constellations out of his face, tank tops, sunglasses, etc.
Thankfully humans find this so cringe that their minds won't register it and they instead see them as the usual constellations.
Due to pollution of the sky, he's often seen coughing. Humans either think he smokes a lot or he's very sick. The pollution of the sea does make him sick, but he can often fight it off. When he can't, he ends up in bed for days to recover.
He has the same idea as Choromatsu to get humans to care about pollution, but unlike Choromatsu--who does a more active role--he thinks if he becomes cool enough, he can make humans care. This is what led him to his punk look that he has in canon. He also thinks putting his face on clothing will help sway them more, even though no human knows he's an Entity.
He can make it rain. His negative emotions are what causes rough storms, tornados, rough seas, etc. He feels awful when this happens, but he tries not to let it get out of control and cause more disasters.
He also controls the wind, which he often uses to make himself look cool by blowing his bangs or jacket, trying to copy the figures he sees on TV.
Choromatsu: Because he's green, he controls the land. He can control the ground and can create new land, such as deserts, islands, etc. Karamatsu has tried to convince him to get rid of the deserts so he can make more water for life, but Choromatsu denies him and points out the importance of the desert, and how life has already made its home there.
Due to pollution, he gets sick like Karamatsu. He's often annoyed by how much humans pollute and don't seem to care. He tries to promote the importance of recycling, the dangers of global warming, and such, but due to his nagging nature and the apathy of humans, no one really listens to him.
He's part of groups to help promote these ideas.
He blames Osomatsu giving the humans free will for all their problems. He knows Osomatsu can't reverse it, but it still makes him angry that if Osomatsu hadn't, then not only would the world be a better place, but they would all still be living in the Garden of Eden as well.
Though he won't admit it, he does think some parts of humanity getting free will was good. Like the idol concerts he likes to go to, where he cheers on his favorite idol, Nyaa-chan.
If he gets too angry, he accidentally causes earthquakes. This is usually caused by arguments he has with Osomatsu.
Ichimatsu: Because he's purple, he controls the growth of food. He's what causes the food to grow, though he still needs help from Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Jyushiamtsu, and Todomatsu to make it happen, as he can't control the soil, the water, the sun, or the trees (if the food needs to grow on there).
He doesn't say it, but he secretly hates how much he needs to rely on his brothers to make his job even possible. It makes him feel helpless, even though Todomatsu needs just as much help from the others to do his. Maybe because Ichimatsu needs four people, while Todomatsu only needs three.
He feels his job has doubled since humanity was given free will, as their greed causes them to overproduce and he needs to create more food to make up for it. While he does complain about it, he doesn't do anything to protest it like Choromatsu. He sees no point in it, as he sees humanity beyond saving. He's fine with letting the humans continue on the path to destruction. Maybe if they do, then him and his brothers can return to Heaven. Or maybe God would send them to Hell as punishment. He wouldn't mind either way (until he actually sees what Hell is like).
He enjoys cats, seeing them as the only good thing Osomatsu had ever created. Since Osomatsu hasn't looked over them or other creatures for thousand of years, Ichimatsu takes it upon himself to help the strays around the area they live in.
While he controls the growth of food (choosing if something can grow or not), he can't stop them from rotting and going bad. He thinks this is a side effect of giving humanity free will, as the food in the Garden of Eden never rotted.
Jyushimatsu: Because he's yellow, he controls the sun. He rises and lowers the sun, yet he doesn't control the moon. His happiness is also tied to how warm the sun is. Don't worry though; it would take a lot for him to overheat the sun and kill all life. His happy, sunny personality is enough to keep Earth warm. Due to pollution destroying the ozone layer, it's letting in too much sun and causing global warming. Sadly though, he can't stop this. If he drops the temp of the sun even a bit, it would have a negative effect on Earth. He's forced to keep his happiness levels where they are so life can survive.
He doesn't let this get to him. He says, "humans will figure it out one day and everything will go back to normal!" Some of his brothers think he's naïve for that, while others think he's just lying and pretending to not care. The truth lies with him.
He's the one to figure out that the one controlling the moon is another Entity named Homura. After meeting her, he falls in love with her. Sadly though, she had to reject him and return to the moon. He hopes one day she will return and they can be together.
Oddly enough, he's usually great at keeping the sun raised and lowered on time (so the humans don't freak out), though the reason we have Daylight Savings time is because twice in a year he had gotten distracted and kept the sun up or lowered than he meant too. Thankfully the humans just made up Daylight Savings time to explain it. This gives him a breather twice a year.
Todomatsu: Because he's pink, he controls plants, though if asked he'll say he controls flowers (cause that's somehow cuter). He controls the growth of the trees, grass, flowers, etc. He can even create plants in Karamatsu's domain, helping keep the fish Osomatsu created alive.
He feels when trees are cut. If a few are cut, it's no more than a dull pain. It's only a problem when a large amount of trees are cut at once, such as the rain forest, or natural disasters destroying a forest. At this point in life he's felt the pain for so long that he can manage to mask it in front of others, but if it gets too much then he'll lock himself in their home to keep his pain hidden from others.
Even though this causes him pain, he's not an activist like Choromatsu. He would rather reblog a post about how cutting trees are bad and call it a day. He's more focused on blending in with humans and becoming popular. Sometimes he wishes they could reveal they were Entities, but he knows no one would believe him and call him crazy. Or they would and bug him about creating more trees and such. He'd rather not deal with the hassle and would rather become popular by being social and adorable~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At first the brothers just did their jobs in the Garden of Eden, but after they were kicked out, they wandered the Earth for centuries, creating life as they went (except Osomatsu who had lost his powers). At some point they had gotten sick of each other and split up on their own (this would be when they were teenagers in canon).
They did this for a few centuries or so before they reconnected. At that point they had created enough life that they no longer needed to wander the Earth, as they were connected to all the places they had made. They decided to settle down and live in Akatsuka ward, posing once more as humans and just living their lives. Most of them still do their jobs, but can now do it from one point instead of having to go there.
The reason they keep their Entity identities a secret is because they know humans (if they were believed) would beg them to solve all their problems. Not only would this be annoying, but if they failed, then the humans could turn violent against them. Some of them are already hurting from humans actions, so it wouldn't be wise to give the humans even more reason to destroy the planet. So, they just pretend to be humans.
They are immortal in the sense that they can't die from age, but they could be killed if their domains were completely destroyed. As in, if God destroyed Earth, they would die as well. This is also why they care so much about humans destroying the world: Not only does it make some of them sick, but if humans successed, then they'll die.
They do hear prayers, but only prayers related to their domain. Karamatsu, as an example, can hear prayers that ask for things such as rain, but can't hear prayers asking for food. While they can hear them and were given domain over Earth, they are not allowed to answer the prayers as they wish. That is handled by Heaven; Heaven receives the prayers from them and then accepts or rejects them. The only one who this doesn't happen for is Osomatsu, as he lost his connection to the humans after he lost his powers. His prayers just goes straight to Heaven and is handled by Angels or God.
The brothers can make a case for why their prayers should be answered. Sometimes they're able to convince Heaven to grant them.
Because he lost his connection to humans, Osomatsu does not feel any pain when humans die or hurt each other. The only thing keeping him from being labeled completely as human is his immortality. Everyone is surprised God hadn't taken that away from him as well. Osomatsu thinks it's because he's special, but Choromatsu theorizes God did this so Osomatsu would learn a lesson. Perhaps by being allowed to keep being immortal, he can see the effects his gift of free will on the humans had on Earth. Too bad Osomatsu is too stupid to get what the lesson is.
