Mastery Reflection Assignment

Business Storytelling and Brand Development.  I thoroughly enjoyed this class.  The first week we focused on three simple questions and dug deep to learn about our own inner brand. 

My favorite assignment of the second week was the brand voice, I chose with Sully from Monsters, Inc. and fit perfectly with our brand.  It certainly challenged me to be creative.  And my co-workers loved it!

The third week we focused on Archetypes and story telling.  I enjoyed putting a synopsis together for my brand.  I also did additional work on my own archetype - it's always fun to dig in and see what makes you tick. 

Finally, the last week we are focused on completing our Brand Strategy.  I'm excited to complete the document, though I do have a bit of more work to do.

Mastery Reflection Assignment

            Internet Marketing Fundamentals:  This course laid a great foundation and provided fundamentals in several areas.  We selected a company to be studied for our courses, my choice was boatersplus.com. This is where I currently work and am the eCommerce Marketing Director. We have a sister site, RVPlus and I do extra assignments based on it when it is of value for the site.

            It was interesting to review the Keyword Research, especially for my competitors. Learning what keywords they utilize was much easier than I thought it would be. Bumping those up against our keyword list and then modifying our list will certainly be an asset.  Reviewing competitor sites and what they do well and different was a great exercise. My site is pure retail; in order for my audience to become more engaged, I need additional content outside of products.

            Writing Pay Per Click (PPC) Ads is always fun. It is a very creative, yet time consuming exercise. Not only are the words important, but the order of the words as well. We did complete a PPC Fraud presentation and I will admit I had a hard time with this. It was difficult for me to find data that was not outdated. It seems that most PPC engines have fraud limitations/rules already in existence.
