HALAL
In my journey to create a series of posters centered around the concept of halal certification, I faced numerous challenges and moments of inspiration. Initially, I struggled to conceptualize how to portray the idea across multiple posters. My friend's work on a protein bar product sparked an idea—why not explore the necessity of halal certification on vegan products? Presenting this idea to our instructor and gaining her approval was a relief, providing me with a clear direction. I embarked on creating introductory posters digitally, seeking feedback from our instructor, which led to multiple iterations before finalizing the first poster. The journey continued as I delved into researching vegan products with halal certification, eventually discovering a surprising revelation: Cornitos nachos had halal certification. Crafting a poster displaying the ingredients through the label layout, I encountered another unexpected find—halal certification on Iba cosmetic face serum. As the series progressed, I structured the posters to present different perspectives on the topic—pro and against halal certification, ultimately urging the audience to share their opinions via QR code or link. My immersion in this project was so intense; I found myself consumed by thoughts of halal certifications even in my dreams. While minor refinements remain, this journey has been both exhaustive and enlightening, marking the culmination of a semester filled with engaging and thought-provoking exploration. My key learning from this experience revolves around the significance of research, adaptability in ideation, and the impactful portrayal of diverse viewpoints in conveying a message through design.
