I started playtesting this challenge with some fun sims from around Simblr! This is a brunette Pasha Flowers (by simtzu) living off a measly little anchovy on her first night of the challenge. I had three sims, and my first event roll was adding a Teen! They would starve to death if it wasn’t for the firepit’s marshmallows... I wonder if there’s a way to disable that feature?
If you’re interested in giving it a shot, check out the rules and let me know what could be tweaked!
Build and Buy Mode
You cannot sell items from your inventory, they must be sold at a consignment shop.
You can buy non-food, non-electrical items from Buy Mode if you can afford it.
There are no restrictions on building/decorating your lot, as long as you can afford it.
Your camp always has to be fenced in. If you are expanding, you must completely close in your existing fence before demolishing it.
New Additions
You can only meet sims (for marriage, adding to your family, etc) on a community lot. Walkups cannot be trusted!
Childbirth is very dangerous. Roll d20, 11+ the mother survives.
If there is a sim OTHER than the mother that has Logic, their skill points are the modifier. With a Family Oriented sim around to help, only rolling a 20 will result in the mother’s death. Babies ALWAYS SURVIVE!
You can adopt pets you find, but need to be able to feed them (no bottomless pet food bowls or cheating to feed them).
As your group grows, you may need to use a mod to Allow More Than Eight Sims Per House (I suggest MasterController). If you want to Kick Out sims, you can- but you can always just send them on dangerous runs. :p
Going On Runs & Event Rolls
Adventurer(s) can gather and collect, dumpster dive, meet new sims, find pets, go to consignment shops to barter, etc.
If multiple adventurers are going on a run, you must pick a Leader before they leave. You must roll for an event whenever an adventurer leaves and returns to the home lot.
The event is usually based around the adventurer (in terms of skill modifiers, event effects, etc) unless otherwise stated

Starting The Challenge
Create your starting group using these rules from iamthecure’s Zombie Apocalypse Challenge. Basically, roll d6 for the number of sims in your starting group. For each sim, roll once for each trait. Even numbers = useful/good traits and odd numbers = useless/bad traits. No sims younger than Teen. Review the list of Starter Trait Perks - each sim can only have ONE of these traits!
Buy an empty lot (preferably in a world where you have deleted the school rabbit hole).
Build a small shed just big enough for the cheapest toilet and shower (no all-in-one).
Two sleeping bags only, regardless of group size.
A fire pit. I can’t remember if you need a chair to roast food over the fire. If that’s the case, you may have the cheapest available chair.
Place any starter perks (if your starter perk is a book, place a bookshelf, remove the books you need, and then delete the bookshelf & extra books).
Fence in your camp, don’t leave a lot of space (if you want to expand, you’ll have to build out the fences).
If you want to add “flavour” items (trees, rocks, debris, the decorative water pump, etc) I don’t think it matters, as long as it’s just cosmetic and not functional.
Use familyfunds and set your household funds to 0!
That’s it!
Restrictions
There is no electricity, you can only use fire to cook, light your homes, and heat up your water.
No jobs except Military. Only sims with the Brave trait may enlist, but they will be less available to go on runs and help around the camp. (Promotion = event roll). If they get injured on a run, they have to Call In Sick.
No purchasing food from a fridge. You must grow your food. (Cows? Chickens? Bees?)
No selling items in buy/build or from your inventory including things you have grown or crafted.
No tents or beds until they are unlocked.
You MUST roll for an event whenever an adventurer leaves and returns to the home lot. (See Event Rolls.)
Some of these restrictions can be lifted by having one of your sims max a skill.
Goal
The challenge ends when you have a successful and thriving group of survivors. There must be:
One expert Sim (level 10) per skill listed: Â Athletic, Logic, Inventing, Charisma, Handiness, Gardening, & Fishing
At least one 5th generation sim who can trace their parentage back to the first group of survivors.
