REMINDER: “Repeat” RT-PCR for those who initially tested POSITIVE shall NOT be required for the DISCHARGE and CLEARANCE of these patients. Why? There are some patients who “persistently” remain POSITIVE in RT-PCR even after 10 days of isolation. Ang iba patuloy na positibo sa loob ng 3 buwan. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/duration-isolation.html) So ano ang problema natin kapag inuulit natin ang RT-PCR makalipas ang 10 araw ng isolation at lumabas na ikaw ay positibo pa rin? Maaaring mapagkamalan na ikaw ay isang “Active” case. Ito ay magcacause ng confusion at maari ka uling iextend ng isolation kahit na “hindi na kailangan”. At ito rin ay “muling isasama” sa datos ng DOH ng mga kaso ng positibo at active cases. Base sa pagaaral, makalipas ang 10 araw ng isolation simula ng ikaw ay nag positibo sa RT-PCR, may ibang pasyente na matagal maalis sa katawan ang mga remnants ng “inactive” virus. Ayon din sa pagaaral, pagkalipas ng 10 araw, wala ng kakayahan ang Covid-19 virus na makahawa pa o mag replicate. As long as wala ka ng symptoms for 3 days tulad ng lagnat, ubo at iba pa. Katulad ng sakit na Tuberculosis (TB), ang ibang pasyenteng nakapag gamot na ng 6 na buwan, kapag nagpa Xray ay may makikita pa ring peklat (scar) na minsan ay hindi na mawawala kahit paulit ulit pang mag pa Xray. Ngunit hindi ito nangangahulugan na aktibo ang sakit ng pasyente. I hope that the LGU’s, HR’s and other establishments will follow the DOH guidelines regarding RETURN TO WORK clearance of their employees. Huwag po sana natin silang pahirapan pa sa mga requirements at paulit ulit na testing. You will be causing more stress, worry and doubt to these people. Iisipin nila hindi pa sila magaling.
